1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoincharts.com down? on: November 10, 2013, 12:39:38 PM
kind of seems bitcoincharts.com got dns hijacked. looked like the BitcoinCharts Pro advertised there was used for phishing.

hi guys, so earlier i changed my networking settings on my miner so that i would have a static ip for the miner.
when i try to SSH through putty and follow the usual steps: 1. log in as root 2. enter password and 3. screen -r
but now after i enter screen -r this comes up:

"theres a screen on:
1771.cgminer (attached)
there is no screen to be resumed."

how do i get my cgminer to display again?

thanks!

use screen -d (detaches other attached screens) and then screen -r

or

use screen -x (attaches to already attached screen)

i apologize in advance, if this is repeated topic - but, just the sheer speed of posting here makes it impossible for me to go through the last 200 pages I havent read. so please, use just small stones. Cheesy

this is a part of my support request to KnC. Is there anyone else in the same/similar situation? or possibly with a solution

it's regarding my 4VRM jupiter.

There are three things I've figured out and those might or might not be linked to each other.
1) I rarely see the cgminer to run longer than 4 or 5 blocks. It restarts and is off for a few seconds. The down time lasts 10+ seconds, which means a loss of hashrate during the down time as well as during the "ramp up period" after restart.

2) One of VRMs on module 6 is offline according to bertmod. Or, to be more exact, the mod says, it's online and ok, but the current is just 0.125A. This loss of power is not compensated on other VRMs - those give out the same current as VRMs on the rest of borads. If I connect just this board to the controller, it produces just about 80GH ... although the bertmod says only 2 cores are disabled on the whole board.

3) High HW error rates. I am experiencing about 10-13% HW error rates. But the interesting thing is - the more boards I have connected to the controller, the higher HW error rate is. When I run just one board I usually get about 2-3%. This seems like an issue with the FPGA, but I have no way to tell for sure.

as I know zip I'll ask the obvious question did you do a hard reset?.....that is the extent or my knowledge and/or maybe power supply issue?

(ok that's it I know zip others jump on here)

Searing

yeah, tried, no change at all :-/ but thanks for the hint.

btw. does anyone remember the early estimates by people, that KnC need to clock their chips at 520MHz to achieve 100GHps? Didn't KnC mention somewhere that they're clocking it around 1GHz? That math is quite interesting... Cheesy

Dreaming is nice, isn't it? Smiley

Still no photos of the chip.is impossible to have it work at September
Unphotographed chips are perfectly capable of running, believe it or not.

We were not promised, and I do not expect, photos of the chips. Since they will be sent straight from China to their assembler.

In China. Most likely.

Here, put your money where your whining is:

Hey AFox, another Fox here Smiley

1 Saturn (SKU 34), Order #65x, ordered and paid June 4th.

Got just two pieces of information to share:

a) got confirmed from knc, that even if you have jupiter and one of the chips/board fail, you can pull the card out and run at lower hashrate. (was wandering if it's worth having two saturns instead of one jupiter - besides heating two rooms instead of just one).

b) the advantage of KnC private pool, if implemented right, is kind of immunity to DDoS. as long as attackes have no idea what host/network to DDoS, they can only kill whole Sweden. (yes, there are ways to find out, but if done right, you can hide well). btw. i'm going to run my device at home. i like the advantage of free heat during winter (pretty much means zero electricity costs).

hmm how about adding second saturn to my order? i don't like the idea of having 400GHps in one device, which in case of failre, kills all my hashrate ...

20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ncurses based MtGox live monitor and trading-bot-framework on: May 05, 2013, 09:50:45 AM
That is just a mess from misconfigured (not using UTF8) putty. I use it just to check if I broke something before pushing to my server. The "real thing" is running in different window and bars are just fine. Just trying to figure out what protocol I'm using there.
