I just want to add a small thing: Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) and Reputation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=129.0) are some really useful references in terms of checking a project if it's a scam; especially Scam Accusations, there're a lot of scam projects exposed there.
There are various types of scams. Only a few lines of words can't fully describe them all. Many topics were created to talk about specific kinds of scams. I might list them here for your references in case you want to broaden your topic:

22  Other / Meta / Re: Should I lock my Chance to Rank Up thread for Newbies and Jr. Members? on: August 09, 2019, 03:59:02 PM
I currently find myself in a situation where I have 28 sMerits to give out but I have reserved 26 of those for my mentioned thread. Some say that my rules are too strict, that might be the case but I believe that because of these rules my thread 'survived' for so long and wasn't moved to Off topic or locked.
Your rules are quite fair, I think. A few days ago, I saw a similar merit give away topic and the OP required posts in Development & Technical Discussion and Bitcoin Technical Support from newbies to receive his merits (I don't find the topic anymore). Sometimes posts from new members are easily overlooked, so I really appreciate topics like yours (though I don't meet the requirements to join), it helps a lot of newbies and encourage them sticking around the forum. Keep up your good work and make your topic lively (I'll come back to it some day Grin).

Those who aren't from the U.S. -- what are your opinions on these seemingly constant gun massacres in America? What goes through your head every time you see a headline or read a news article like this one? I'm genuinely curious.
I'm from a country in which guns and weapons are strictly controlled by the government. There were many times I was disappointed on my government because they control and restrict us on so many things but seeing news or articles like this, I know that they're right at some point. Also, I feel really sorry for those people who were killed and their relatives. America is not Pakistan or some other Islamic countries, these gun massacres are tarnishing its image as a place of freedom, peace and democracy.

You forget the fact that if everyone in the store was open carrying - some of them with assault rifles - this joker would have been too scared to do what he did. Nobody would have died.

Cool
You mean normal people carrying guns like jewelry, then the US should be renamed to the United States of Armed People. The problem with the US is that it's too large and the society is too complicated and hence not easy to control. Talking about this, China is doing better under its monopoly communism party (I'm not praising China's communism). You're supporting gun purchasing but it's the root of the problem. Using guns to prevent gun assaults only makes everything become more chaotic. I'm not wise enough to propose a solution for the US but I don't think encouraging guns will improve the situation.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Security / If you are Android user and invest in Crypto, please be careful on: August 06, 2019, 06:04:29 AM
There are some mobile apps that ease trading on the go Like Binance, Huobi, Kucoin apps, tab trader. If you are a day trader trust me... they come in handy when you are not with your computer. So you can't do away with them entirely.
Many people are just holders and hence they can use computer to buy/sell at low frequency. But for regular traders, the demand to take profit or cut loss are high, especially when bitcoin rises or falls suddenly. Thus, mobile apps are needed. The only downside is that Binance app is not available on iOS. Using Android devices, CH Play apps are more lenient controlled and hence more risk of malwares. However, it doesn't matter whether it's PCs or smartphones, using in a smart and proper way can help avoid the risk of being attacked.

DuckDuckGo android browser
https://duckduckgo.com/app
Does duckduckgo app for android provides TOR? If not, are there browser apps on Android devices that allow TOR? I don't know, so please help me if you know such TOR-accepted apps for Android. I felt a little bit unsafe when using mobile devices, but sometimes, I saw interesting posts, want to comments, and it is inconvenient if I have to turn on my computer or laptop to do this.
Not sure what are you afraid of when browsing on mobile but providing that your phone is not a rooted device, you're still under surveillance of Google. I had some bad experience with Tor. It loaded and feedbacked so slowly. Not sure if it's improved but I haven't tried it again since then. However, there's an Android version of Tor Browser, why don't you try it?

What I wanna say is let this forum be your guy and knowledge to BTC as all the older and knowledgeable members will help you out or will point you into right directions, I did gained a lot of help with being on this forum.
After a few weeks reading and learing things that I haven't fully understand from the forum, I really wish I knew about it sooner. I first knew about bitcoin in late 2017, through a Ponzi fraud, it's Hextra Coin. Some of my friends got fortunes from it and persuaded me to join them, being their ref. I didn't know it was a Ponzi scheme then, but luckily, being broke prevented me joining them.

I came to bitcoin when it almost reached ATH and with the mind of a fortune seeker. Creating a Binance account, depositing bitcoin, buying altcoins and hodling them through ATHs, till first half of 2018's over and deciding to cut loss. That was the time I halted to learn about bitcoin and blockchain. But broken pieces of news and articles on Internet made me had incomplete knowledge about it. Until I came here, useful topics on Development & Technical Discussion or Bitcoin Technical Support partly filled up spaces in my knowledge. Yes there are many things more to learn and I think I will stay here as long as I can to perfectize understandings.
29  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need some creative ideas! on: July 21, 2019, 06:27:11 AM
It sounds like some one has taken the CryptoGear idea by creating this: https://cryptogear.io/. However, it's not about who goes first, but who does better. There're numerous ideas to come up with but the best is not always the fanciest one, it's the one you can optimize with your current resources.

Pushing my creativity a little bit and I got these ideas, hope they'll help you somehow:

Coindictionary: Like the name suggests, the main content should be detailed information about famous coins (top 100 marketcap for example). Each coin has its own website and all information is listed there, but finding various coins' information at one place will be so convenient for newbies and even oldbies.
Cryptopedia: It may resemble the dead exchange Cryptopia but Cryptopedia is intended to be a Wikipedia of cryptocurrencies. You can find everything about crypto there.
Cryptogram: Where people can share their photos, funny pictures or videos which are related to crypto. Crypto advertisers will find it a more efficient place to put their campaigns than Instagram or Youtube.

Welcome to the forum. I'm also new here. I registered my account on June 15, but I spent first two weeks reading forum rules and stuff. Even until now, I'm still spending most time reading. My little advice to you is that you should read all sticky posts first, such as:

One more thing, the forum is intended for open and constructive discussions, so one should be aware put some effort in his post. This guideline may help on this:

There are many more worth reading posts/topics for new comers but above are some most basic topics. Spend time looking around the forum and you'll find out for yourself. Stay active and contributive.
31  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Redddit Just Exposed the Entire Hong Kong Government" on: July 04, 2019, 05:12:32 PM
I am well aware of the history. You are delusional. CIA or not, claiming Chinese laws don't qualify as "draconian" is absolutely retarded. Allowing extradition from Hong Kong would make every Hong Kong citizen subject to all Chinese laws. These people want to be free from being put in Chinese internment camps for political crimes. It seems more likely the protests were staged by China in order to justify their crack down on the protests. China has plenty of internal conflict without the CIA needing to be involved.
You are right. No need any interference from CIA in those protests. Though being freed from China since 1997, Hongkong never really seemed like a part of China due to the difference in legal system, culture and GDP per capita. To connect Hongkong with mainland, China has spent 10 years to built HZMB: Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge, the world's bridge-cum-tunnel sea crossing:

The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB), officially the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, is a 55-kilometre (34 mi) bridge–tunnel system consisting of a series of three cable-stayed bridges, an undersea tunnel, and four artificial islands. It is both the longest sea crossing[5][6] and the longest open-sea fixed link on earth. The HZMB spans the Lingding and Jiuzhou channels, connecting Hong Kong, Macau, and Zhuhai—three major cities on the Pearl River Delta.[7][8]

The HZMB is the geographical connection between China mainland and Hongkong. And the extradition law will be the beginning of legal connection. If this law was approved, it would pave the way for many more laws to be prevail on this special administrative region, including the fierce social credit system. Under mainland's strict surveillance, there would be no protests in Hongkong anymore, if yes, it'd be another Tiananmen Square tragedy. Clearly Hongkong citizens have already been well aware of how Beijing government treats Inner Mongolia, Xizang or Xinjiang autonomous zones and don't want it happen on them.

However, Hongkong is not Taiwan. Protests won't help them fight against China mainland. Sooner or later, in one way or another, Beijing will have it in hands.
