6281  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin worth to you or not... on: February 01, 2016, 10:16:57 PM
Bitcoin is worth to me for many reasons
Online shopping
Online Remittances
Converting it to fiat
Gambling
Trading
And above all now I don't need to use my credit cards for online shopping and don't have to visit banks or WU for online remittances.
6282  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 10:13:33 PM
I won't be quitting my day job any time soon. I can't depend on bitcoin as a full income right now.
So I won't do this just yet, bitcoin just wouldn't be enough to support the life I'm living, besides, bitcoin is just something I do on the side, just a little extra.
I don't use bitcoin on a daily basis, it's more to save up for my future.

Yeah if you have a good job then you should concentrate more on your full time job, earning bitcoin is good as a passive income, but getting totally dependent on bitcoin is not a good idea, and its better to keep on earning bitcoins and keep it safe for the future.

That's true, but I would rather compare my salary to the bitcoins that I am earning, if I am earning good money in bitcoins as compared to my monthly salary then I would surely quit my job and get into bitcoins as a full timer, I will put more efforts in bitcoin as compared to my job.
6283  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: February 01, 2016, 10:11:24 PM
gold is way better than bitcoin to be honest, i think that i would choose it over gold because bitcoin is a better investment than gold i think

Either gold or BTC, which way are you at???
I guess you are biased on your own decision, or I should say you are not even deciding what to choose...
Well, bias is definitely going to come especially since we're a bitcoin forum... what, do you expect that many people to choose gold over bitcoin if there's already many people that support bitcoin here? If you go to a gold forum, then imagine how many people are going to support gold over bitcoin there!

You are right and I think both of them are important have their own value, we are not sure about the future of bitcoin as it is very new as compared to gold, but gold is traditional so we can afford to believe in gold that it will survive longer as compared to bitcoins.

I think its better to diversify our investments and invest in both the products, if we have to suffer loss in one product then at least the other product will recover those losses, and I have more faith in gold as compared to bitcoins.
6284  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: February 01, 2016, 10:09:24 PM
I think most people are seeing bitcoin only as an investment option which is why many replies in this thread says that they don't spend their bitcoins and are saving it for a price increase, which is fine but they don't realize, if they use it wherever they possibly can then that will increase the price much faster.

So buy, save, spend and buy again.

Exactly, there should be a movement in bitcoins, it is useless to hold bitcoins without using it and only hoping that price will reach moon and that would be the right time to sell, if there is a rotation in bitcoins then price would be much higher and stable.

Agreed. It's economics. And as with any economic system things have to be in motion for the system to survive and thrive.

Yeah, and spending bitcoins on regular basis is the right thing to do, I keep on spending my bitcoins on daily basis, as I gamble everyday, not a big amount though, but I do gamble and sometimes I win and sometimes   I loose, but the percentage of loosing is more as compared to winning.
6285  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: February 01, 2016, 10:07:00 PM
Yeah, ok, reading books about how other people made money, or to be more specific, how they say that they made money is one thing, but nothing beats real life experience. You want to know how to make money? Don't look for a specific method. It there was everyone would use it. Get out there and try things, learn things.

Very rightly said mate, there is no formula to get rich, if there would be a formula then everyone of us would be rich, its better that you focus on skills that you have and move ahead with it, if you have some skills that no one else has then you will get rich in a quick time.
6286  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: February 01, 2016, 10:04:18 PM
They are probably trying to manipulate the coin value, so the price will go down and they can buy even more cheap coins
and sell them when the price is high again

You know, this is very likely actually. If you are sure that Bitcoin will stay firm in the future then you decide to buy BTC as much as possible. You start saying that Bitcoin is dead, media spreads the news, price drops, you buy, you win. Then, several years later, you write a book "How I Made My Millions". Simple. )

Yes you are right, and people have more faith in news and media, and that is really sad, people will not try to find on their own but will just follow the news, if people involves themselves by doing some research work on bitcoins, then they would come to know the reality.
6287  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2016, 01:16:34 PM
The worst mistake was not listening to my friend earlier in 2012. If I knew BTC back then I would have owned a hunderds of them by now Tongue

I feel you man. I also have a friend who tried to pull me in using bitcoin. But due to my laziness and not having more knowledge about bitcoin I ignored it. Now here I am. Still a newbie and forever will be. But have some knowledge regarding bitcoin and wont leave it now.

Same here mate, my friend told me about bitcoins in  2011, but at that time I thought it is uselsess to invest money and time in it, and then I got into bitcoins in 2015 which was very late, and now I regret that why I didn't listen to my friend in 2011, I would be the richest by now.
6288  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your least favorite thing about Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2016, 01:07:15 PM
I'm really bullish about the future involving bitcoin but if I had to say the worst thing is when some asshole dumps thousands of coins & it crashes the price. So I guess volatility is the thing I hate most although there are always positives to every negative. Cheap coins etc.

That's true but many people are taking advantage of price volatility as they are involved into trading which allows them to make quick money, if price crashes no need to panic and buy as much bitcoins as possible and wait for the future for price hike.
6289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Sport To Gamble on: January 29, 2016, 12:45:07 PM
Got to be soccer. I find that I have had the most luck with betting on soccer. All types of gambling is risky but if it's possible to say soccer is the most predictable.

Yeah, when it comes to gambling soccer is the best option to gamble, but I would love to gamble on cricket as it is very unpredictable game especialy in T20 games, where the game can be changed in a single minute, so I would go with cricket.

......shipped with 3 fans total and a declocked bitstream....

The above statement along with a 6 month warranty make me happy that BFL took 2 days to answer my email in regards to a near $10,000 USD order that I was informed may be available in 6-8 weeks.

I will keep a candle burning for you all and pray that your 6 month warrantied miners don't end up being 7 month old paperweights.
6298  Other / Off-topic / Re: OK, i confirmed the model of FPGA they are using in BFL single. on: May 10, 2012, 02:12:59 AM

Still looks like a scam to me, lying about custom chips, lying about delivery, lying about availability, possibly using 2nd hand parts.
The BFL company is like a rotting sheep carcass in the sun, the more time goes by the more it stinks.
Welcome to my ignore list.
