201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie members syndicate and rights on: February 23, 2020, 12:16:53 AM
I think one of the problems is people don't know how to use a forum (at least not to the stardard most wish to impose here). Most of them are used with the monosyllabic form of communication you find on telegram for example. These other platform melded most and writing a full sentence became as hard as a college degree exam.
What you mean by "spam" is their every day vocabulary.
And would argue that can be pretty hard to reshape...

So you want to convince people to invest in your (future) gambling site? To sponsor for development?
203  Other / Meta / Re: Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action ! on: February 19, 2020, 12:25:06 PM
Account :  Hienphan
Reason : Phising link

So your proof is that a VT engine says it is a phishing link ... that's not very conclusive.
forms.gle is => google survey forms (and as in any survey can ask for sensitive info... but that's not phishing)

I added this thread to my watch list to see what's going on with this malware spree, but this one seems to be a false positive.
But hey, that's just my opinion Smiley
204  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a list of ideas for inventions and tools, can I post it here? on: February 16, 2020, 11:00:18 PM
...

You're kind of exaggerating here dude. When you go VC hunting and pitching an ideea the minimum requirement is a MVP.
He is just listing his ideas (some good, some bad, some not crypto) in exchange for a tip or a partner with software knowledge (most likely the first option)
OP I wish you all the best and if I can use any or your ideas expect a tip from me Smiley
205  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a list of ideas for inventions and tools, can I post it here? on: February 16, 2020, 02:07:43 PM
Sounds interesting, but besides your tip jar what does it have to do with bitcoin?
206  Other / Meta / Re: Flag Abuse - Bitcoin SV - Shocking - Theymos Please Take Action. on: February 15, 2020, 06:51:47 PM
You may be right OP, but who cares about flags made by a user nobody trusts? As far as I understood the flag system, anyone can make a type 1 flag but would only be displayed to users who trust the flag creator.
I understand it is annoying at least, but does not seem to have any real impact on your account.

Not that sure a flag should be deleted if it has no support. Even better, if you see a flag about a certain user and you see all DT1 saying he is an ok guy, that flag would really have the opposite effect. There's no such thing as bad advertising.

Personally think you over complicate things. Just leave the trust system work. The weeds will be removed by default
207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Determining whether your token is Valuable Or Not on: February 13, 2020, 06:15:19 PM

Might have mixed up exchange listing fee with cmc listing fee. I'll ask tho and get back to you on that
208  Other / Meta / Re: Cloudflare requiring Javascript for Tor users (and others?) on: February 13, 2020, 04:34:01 PM
Cloudflare has a JavaScript browser check when you do a server request from a "known bad" IP. It logs weird activity from that IP (like trying to access */admin.php or */wp-admin.php and can deny access to the page. I would assume this is mostly encountered while posting (add and get functions mostly). They call it Browser Integrity Check
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200170086-Understanding-the-Cloudflare-Browser-Integrity-Check

Maybe it's worth a slight tweak, tho not sure if it would do more harm than good.
209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Determining whether your token is Valuable Or Not on: February 13, 2020, 03:21:47 PM
Do you know that there are many tokens listed on the exchange with valuable amount  but NOT listed on CMC.

Fun fact: I know some guys who wanted to add their coin on some exchanges. Went to some bigger ones and requested to be listed there. They said "NO! we cannot list you if you are not on CMC." , they said ok, let's get listed on CMC and pay their outrageous fees "NO! we cannot list you on CMC because you are not listed on any exchange" . IMO CMC is an overrated service that still has a huge pull in the crypto space unfortunately.

There are other sites to verify whether a token is available on the exchange or Not.

Helpful sites : https://www.coingecko.com/en/
                     https://coinmarketcap.com/
                     https://cryptorank.io/

Those sites are ok (did not try cryptorank, so can't say about that one) but they give you just a few information like total supply, price movements (know that they have API problems from time to time and figures might not be 100% as advertised), and exchanges the coin/token is listed on. Happened a bunch of times was looking on CMC and saw a coin with 300% price increase in the last 7 days and was worth $0.75 or something like that and on the only exchange they were listed price was $0.012 and no order in sight.

IMO that is the most important thing. If you are looking for "value" !
First read a bit about the coin. Have a look at the WP, see what is it used for, algo, etc
Then go on the exchange they are listed on and see if they have any orders

If you remembered you have some shit coins in a forgotten wallet and you look them up to see if you are rich or not... yeah, you can get a slight idea, but really hope you are not using CMC for investment info !

210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Usage Among Merchants Is Up on: February 06, 2020, 07:18:48 PM
Crypto is not a valid form of payment in most countries. You would need to use a payment processor to get the job done. The thing I am wondering is how would a merchant accepting crypto payments go about giving a refund. Would assume in fiat most likely.
211  Other / Meta / Re: Just A Little Question... on: February 03, 2020, 02:58:55 PM
(Just seen NLNico's profile and it seems he has a Dice Badge?)

If you hove over the badge you will see "Responsibly disclosed forum security flaws". So guess reported a significant bug and got a bounty (I would assume) + badge
I think it's the only one left tbh.
And the new ones to come: Art badge and Reported badge

212  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Why can I only sign a GPG message with SHA1 hash on: February 02, 2020, 01:26:10 AM
Sorry, got confused a bit and did not understand the question with all those pgp, gpg...
Try to limit the algorithms used by editing the gpg.conf file and leave only what you want SHA256, SHA 384, SHA512..
Or try "cert-digest-algo SHA256" or  "--s2k-digest-algo SHA256" in the command line when generating the key.
213  Other / New forum software / Re: Please help me to install epochtalk, I have zero idea about github on: February 01, 2020, 08:23:02 PM
I thought finally I was able to figure out the command lines from the github README file but then when I was in $ yarn in the 2nd step of installation then I got stuck on here: https://i.imgur.com/ZVGFgyu.png

Just "yarn" is not a valid command, try: sudo apt update && sudo apt install --no-install-recommends yarn
214  Other / New forum software / Re: Please help me to install epochtalk, I have zero idea about github on: February 01, 2020, 11:27:19 AM
As others said, that readme is not up to date. Seems they did some further chages. Open an issue on their github and they'll advise you. Not sure how fast they reply in the weekend tho...

217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Fantasy sports options do we have? on: January 31, 2020, 05:25:31 PM
I'm wondering what options we have for Fantasy sports which accept Bitcoin as a payment...

I have an account here: https://game.footballcoin.io/
It's a fantasy soccer game. They have matches from several leagues (MLS, Premier League, Italy, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Romania, China )
Points are from real stats give by SportRadar.com
They have their own currency XFC and you can buy it from some exchanges. Also have a deal with Magnum Wallet, you can use that too
You can play for free. Most of the players are free to use in your draft and the better ones you need to buy with XFC from the "Market" either from the game or from other users that want to sell them.

I'm a regular there and is kinda fun ! Also on the Telegram and are in works for V2.0 with many new features.

Not affiliated in any way with them but always happy to recommend a service I like !
218  Other / Meta / Re: No support on this forum? on: January 30, 2020, 03:12:04 PM
As OP's questions, even these things such as Merit/sMerit, thread bump V2.0, myips.php etc are lost in the sea of info here. There are quite a lot of things to take into consideration. Many information, many details, many cases.
The thread with the "unofficial rules" has ~5700 words. Donno, might be a good idea to break them down to smaller bite size pieces. Easier to digest that way.
A bullet point FAQ, something that does not resemble a big scary block of text.
Just an opinion
219  Other / Meta / Re: No support on this forum? on: January 30, 2020, 01:16:17 PM
Today first time I see a remark that 2015 version is outdated. It really running bad but is there a stable new version? I thought the beta is instable....

There are some new versions for dogecoin core
Dogecoin Core 1.14  released on Jun 22, 2019
Dogecoin Core 1.14.2  released on Nov 8, 2019 (with some bug fixes) take a closer look on their github and see there. Not sure how "stable" is the latest version tbh

Hi,

can anyone explaim me whats about this DEV fee with bitcoin cash.
Do the pools take the fee themselves or will they endurate a hardfork?

What about pools they dont support it, wil they create something like BCH Classic.

Please only technical answers. Not interesting in "BCH is stupid something"

Board search and google did not help.

Thanks.

Seems Roger Ver and the guys from Bitcoin.com pool want 12.5% from miner fees. Not sure if they want to extend to all pools or how will this play out. Seems Bitcoin.com pool already set up the "DEV fee" and it's already a reality.
https://www.coindesk.com/roger-vers-mining-pool-pulls-support-for-bitcoin-cash-dev-fund-over-chain-split-threat

P.S. be careful where you ask the questions, as some times they can get lost in the sea of "good project" and "when airdrop" Smiley) Cheers!
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Talk on: January 30, 2020, 11:47:03 AM
I'm not sure if cryptotalk is owned by yobit.

It surely is Yobit's forum. But it is a spam filled cesspool. Enter at you own risk!
Since they pay users to post you can imagine... (don't get too excited, 1000 sats per post... not my cup of tea)
