81  Other / Beginners & Help / Where to use .json file ? on: January 05, 2020, 01:26:45 AM
Hello,

Today i downloaded a wallet backup from a website, the extension to it was ".json". There was no program in my computer that could open this file.

I think if i used a desktop wallet, i could load it or import or something like that from what i read.

Does it have the backup phrases inside it like i got when i first started trezor ? Or does it have private key which if i load in block chain then loads my receiving address? What exactly is in it and is it mandatory for me to use a desktop wallet to load and look into it ?

EDIT

The admin swiftly replied that :

The JSON file isn't compatible with any other wallet software yet.

It currently can only be used by somebody with some technical/coding experience.

The format of the backup file and the mechanism used to calculate addresses is described in detail @ https://whitepaper.localethereum.com/#sec-Ratcheting-addresses

I equally hate bad services as you do, but let's be realistic here. We mostly see bad reviews of services, well, simply because people exert effort on making complaints on social media in the hopes of getting their issues fixed, while a huge majority of the people who had zero problems with these services won't exert effort into spending some time on making a "omg this service is so great!" post on social media. As always though, of course, do your research.
True.

Hello,

Firstly, i would like to wish that, may you all get a lot of opportunities in the coming year and prosper. Wishing you'll a happy new year.

I lost a lot this year, my dad. Nothing can really fulfill his absence. Believe me, he was the best. In the coming year, i want to be a better person, be more knowledgeable, more efficient, more resourceful and more successful.

I give everyone posting here an opportunity to gain 1 merit and 0.001 BTC given by me.

All you have to do is predict the price of BTC at the end of January, i.e, 01/31/2020, 12 PM GMT. The closest value will be rounded off and will be declared the winner. If there are 2 or more people who post same value, random number generator will decide the winner. Last entry for the prediction will be 01/15/2020.

You are about 2-3 years late, It doesn't exist anymore. Even if you find a legit service you will have a low limit (you will be able to spend $250 at max). You have Bitplastic and Raxcard that claim to provide anonymous card but when I searched I figured Bitplastic is a scam, I can't comment on Raxcard but the website was ugly enough to avoid looking for feedbacks
All the other services will find will ask you to complete the KYC verification so it's not anonymous
Yes indeed, i too found a lot of negative reviews for these services.

Since you're looking for physical cards, I'm afraid you won't be able to avoid KYC. If you end up changing your mind, here are some services you should look into:

- Paycent.
- Wirexapp (APAC region).
- and if you're from Singapore, take a look at Monaco/Crypto.

The only card on the market that doesn't require submitting an ID is Localcoin but it's only available for Canadians.
I see, i don't mind getting KYC done, but many users from different services complain about submitting all the documents and still not getting the things done. I will look into these services.

Hello,

I was wondering if there was any provider that could provide a Crypto re-loadable Visa or MasterCard who has services running in Asia.

I found many services such as nexo, spectrocoin, rax card, uquid and bitplastic. All these have a lot of scam reports lately and they don't support shipping and services in Asian countries.

I also found a few individuals providing cards which were linked to some "anonymous" accounts and wanted me to send them crypto which they would refill for in fiat. But at any point, they can scam me as the account is not my own, might be a stolen one and i will have no clue to who the real owner is, that is they can also withdraw that money at any point. First owner is the real owner.

I was looking for a physical card that i could use in emergencies for small withdrawals in ATM's and for small purchases online. The websites that have KYC end up never verifying its users and locking their funds according to the reviews users have given.

If any of you have been using a service that is great and requires minimal or no KYC and is available for Asians, please post here, the information will be of great help to me.

You can also check LocalCryptos to buy/sell bitcoin and/or eth. View the marketplace and see if it has what you need. AFAIK, no KYC is needed to use the platform but it has less users compared to LocalBitcoins.
This has interface like localethirium and looks good for now...did couple of trades with people i have dealt with earlier.. maybe this website takes their links of trades from localbitcoins and localethirium and just creates a trade and escrow, no ?

I checked and went through all the recommendations, since i wanted a solution for peer to peer trading, till now, my best options were bisq network, its very very slow process though unlike LBC or remitano, and the next one was posting an offer in forum and getting it done, since there are a lot of active members here, but i don't know whom to trust and whom to not, so i always want to use escrow, but i feel the fees for highly trusted escrows are high if i want to do small trades and not all payment gateways or methods are accepted by all the escrows.

Also, try hotbit.io they also not require KYC or ID verification to buy or sell bitcoin.
If you are going to deposit USD you need a 3rd party service like EPAY to deposit USD so you need to deposit on EPAY first before you can deposit it to your hotbit account.

You can also check our "currency exchange" you can find someone there to buy or sell BTC(p2p) or make your own thread. Just make sure to deal only with trusted members/reputable members and high-rank accounts without negative trust.
Thank you for the recommendation, i am looking into it.

The currency exchange section would probably have more insight.

I have spent my day looking at posts in there and how trades have gone on this page lately, only problem is escrow fees is fixed by highly trusted members and if i get some offers for small deals it will also charge a lot of fees, like you have set a minimum bar at 0.003 BTC to act as a escrow. For example if i have to only buy or sell 0.01 at the given moment, i will get only 0.007.

I know of bisq decentralized bitcoin exchange. Try it out and see if it will meet your needs.
Thank you for your recommendation, I've downloaded it, will install it after looking at some reviews and feedback about it on the internet.

Greetings,

A few days ago, localbitcoins told me i need to proceed to tier 3 verification, i thought it was ok to do so and uploaded what they requested, and from past 4 days i am still waiting for them to update my limit and make my account fully functional, no reply to my ticket also yet. Then i looked into google where to buy and sell for my country, i found paxful and remitano to be the top competitors for local bitcoins. I registered in both the places to see what is next, in remitano i could sell small amount without any issue, but they made me link my phone and bank account for the purpose of verification. In paxful, i fould all shady profiles so i never bothered to create a trade there. I think if i deposit a slightly huge volume of BTC then remitano also might lock my account untill the verification is completely done. I do have a option of selling and buying offline, from people i have dealt with a few times earlier, but those people are offering me prices i am not good to deal with, but in websites the catch was that i got more offers and better rates.

I searched in bitcointalk too, there were many threads guiding me how i can exchange in different exchanges, but most of them were crypto to crypto. I wanted a solution for crypto-fiat and vice versa. I also found this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 place in the forum where many people make offers. I feel i will have to use escrow, and the fees that escrow providers charge might sometimes be too much for small deals.

Is there any place or any way that peer to peer trading can happen safely without the fuss of verifying all my ID's ? Some websites wanted me to verify my bank account too, but i never bothered to login to my internet banking from their websites interface.

I believe many people might be facing the issue same as me after many tiers of verification has come up and different policies that these providers are regulating on their customers forcefully in order to use their services.

I also believe someone might have a solution to this or alternatives that they have personally used which could help me at this point.

EDIT : BEST OPTIONS SO FAR
  • Buy/Sell @ FORUM https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 [No id, no verification, can use escrow, can trade without escrow with trusted mebers too]
  • Buy/Sell @ LOCAL CRYPTO https://localcryptos.com/ [Need to verify email and phone for the purpose of recovery of account, no ID, no verification, they may only individually be requested by the traders themselves to verify the payee]
  • Buy/Sell @ BISQ NETWORK https://bisq.network/ [Need to provide bank details, create order, No ID, No verification *][Very slow though]
95  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTS gaming accounts including [ wow , lol , dota 2 , fgo and more ] 50% price on: December 09, 2019, 03:47:15 PM
Furthermore there will be a week gab before someone tries to recover them and if the manage to do you will have 7 days to sell it. Thus the price is 50%
Someone could get hurt after 7 days buddy. Ill leave it to the interest of the buyers, i was just expressing myself. Also how is the value of the accounts 1k$, is it because of the games in it, its level, the skins in it ?

Goodluck

Hello i have a proposal for someone willing to make a lot of money. I have a method to acquire 3-5 gaming accounts daily including : world of warcraft , dota 2 ,  summoners war sky arena ,  league of legends ,  fate grand order , steam , overwatch , fortnite and much much more

The price am selling the accounts are 50% of their actual price. For example if a league of legends account ios worth 200 euro i can sell 100 euro. i have many accounts for sale daily. You can sell them on many sites for profit or play them depending on you.

accounts are recieved in a whitehat way and i can get 3-5 accounts daily

Looking for a longterm buyer who can sell them for double on many sites.

currently i have 15 accounts for sale worth 2k usd can let go for 1k usd . 50% actual price! i need a longterm partner

message me here as soon as possible
How do you calculate the value of a account ? I also use steam and got around 219 games in it which are worth of total $~3k, i haven't even installed and played a lot of them, steamcalculator and steamdb has given me roughly the same value and upon that i have some very good skins and trading cards too... but the value is $ 3k for me, the games i like can be the ones you don't like and you would feel its of 0 value to you.

Also, no matter how many hands a account changes or who ever has it other than the original owner, its always recoverable by the original owner just by giving some proofs such as last 4 digits of credit card used for any purchase in steam, or receipt of any payment received via mail, or a text to the previous linked phone number or email and there are a number of ways to prove your account has been compromised, even by letting them know to check the ip it was logged in from would lock it. All these high level accounts are checked thoroughly once reported that they have been hacked because they also care about users who spend money on their platform, may take some time but the first owner is the sole owner. I had purchased a high level account and after everything was done, couple of days later i was playing and suddenly and it was forced logged out, it was telling me it was logged in another pc and when i tried to login the credentials were already changed. I brought it from a reputed site playerauctions and had opted for a insurance at the time of buying which saved my a** big time.

I am just telling that no matter even if the source is completely reliable, the original owner always can access it no matter what and we could just lose the money we spent in matter of seconds.
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to stake a address from blockchain and be able to sign messages from it on: December 05, 2019, 12:00:24 AM
So, you think that desktop wallet can be compromised and you're planning to switch to less secure type of wallet - online wallet? Sorry, but it doesn't makes much sense. But it's good that you decided to buy hardware wallet.
Back to your initial question - as far as I remember Blockchain.com only allows to sign a message using imported address. For example, you can use Bitaddress.org to generate wallet, import it to Blockchain.com and then you will be able to sign a message and stake your address here on Bitcointalk.
The reason why i refrain from importing a address to blockchain wallet or generating it outside is because i am paranoid. What if i lose my funds in that wallet and imagine blockchain itself scammed me, they would be like we didnt have any key and it was not generated here and we cant help you.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to stake a address from blockchain and be able to sign messages from it on: December 04, 2019, 03:59:11 PM
protrader786, you can download Electrum, type down seed (12 words) and then sign a message from the first address you get in receive tab. If you want that address in your blockchain.com account just export private key for that address from Electrum and import to blockchain wallet.

You can delete Electrum and get to your address any time by seed recovery, or you can just use the option to control this address in blockchain.com account. Whatever you do, it is important that only you have access to your private keys, which means that you do not save them in unencrypted form, on your computer or e-mail.

Yes, this way striked my brain once, but for security purposes i am now planning to buy a hardware wallet soon, i was going through the list for a couple of hours now.

I see, thank you for all the information given, it was knowledgeable to know about it, looks like i need a secure personal address now.
100  Other / Beginners & Help / How to stake a address from blockchain and be able to sign messages from it on: December 04, 2019, 12:09:09 PM
Hello,

I dont use any desktop wallet as i believe it can be compromised, in my absence. I have used a few wallets namely armory an electrum but i have switched to blockchain long time ago due to its ease of interface and quick way of making transactions happen. Now i believe i want to stake a address in the https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0 topic. So since i usually use blockchain wallet and the adderess changes everytime after a transaction, how can i control one address in it to sign and make it possible everytime when needed. I found the way to sign it in blockchain, but my question is being able to sign using same address only. Also i know that i could receive multiple transactions in 1 address if i need in blockchain, correct me if i am wrong here also, because i never tried.

Thank you
