Not necessarily, especially crypto market comes with low possible amount to deposit and trade that makes someone with even $50 or 100 can start doing it. But to be profitable it's important to have decent capital for sure and it may take time for people to accumulate before starting their trading career. Rich people can afford to make mistakes while people with limited capital it can put an end.

you will only be considered better when you bring much money to the family. whether you see yourself as self-employed because you trade or just unemployed it doesn't matter to the eyes of those who judge you. if you don't wear your pants, you're unemployed that's what they see. you can either ignore them and mind your own business.

or let them know you pay your rent yourself or contribute to the family and it comes from your pocket because you have a job online. you just have to show your achievements, those kinds of people are materialistic, they need to see your expensive car. 

You have saved $500 and you must have some important reason behind this saving. You may have saved $500 with the plan that when you save $500 you will start trading with that $500. $500 is enough to start but before starting you need to study enough about trading. Then since you are a student you have to manage this trading along with your studies. What time you are free and what time trading will not affect your studies badly you take that time. You can take out the remaining time and study about trading during that time and then you can trade during that time. However, in the case of trading, there are some basic things to know.

Good advice, doing your own research and depending on your knowledge and not the advice of others most especially random online forks is a risk, that is why we have to accept the fact that before investing in bitcoin both for long term or short term base is best to invest more of that time in research and gaining knowledge about how the market works and what are the way to reduce the risk that come along with bitcoin investment.

Well, maybe that is the real reason why currently even some Merit Sources are not distributing much of the Merit they have. Because too many posts are general and not very interesting. It doesn't even seem very useful. But I sometimes explore old topics that were created when the Merit system didn't exist yet. And I was actually quite surprised because in the past the quality of posts on this forum was not as good as it is now. In other words, after the Merit system was introduced, the quality of posts on this forum increased quite rapidly. Where the quality of the discussion is also very well directed. And everyone tries to make their posts useful. But nowadays unfortunately everyone who has sMerit seems to have increased their ratings too. So even quality posts do not necessarily get merit at this time. In fact, I have collected several quality posts made by users on this forum that have not been awarded Merit by Merit Source. In the past I really liked providing a list of quality posts to Merit Source. And usually they will be given Merit. But for now I haven't done that for a long time. And maybe I should start doing it again. I realized I didn't have good quality. So what can make me useful in this forum is probably having to go around looking for good posts and submitting them to Merit Sources.

Yes the price of Bitcoin at the END of 2022 was $15k but i started investing almost 12 months before that when it was $42k , big difference.

One should not hoard sMerit because there is nothing beneficial in it, especially since sMerit stored for a long time will burn out over time. sMerit obtained from accumulated Merit should be spent to help other members speed up their rank up, except for shitposters who only pollute the forum with spam. Everyone should appreciate every member who contributes to the forum with quality posts that can benefit other members. Giving Merit to other members should be done because the aim of implementing a merit system is to help each other or support each other to speed up rank up. Merit is not like a valuable asset like Bitcoin because it cannot be bought and sold and cannot be stored for a long time.

Well I think is not advisable for a beginner to invest in a newly launch project, reason been that you don't know if the project will last for a long period of time, or if the project happens to be scam. some project can look very real and promising but at the end it won't work out the Way you expected, most of the project can decide to reward the first set of people who participated from day one just to make it look real, so as to attract people, at this point you will see a lot of people investing in that project without knowing their intention, those investors who didn't invest quite on time will find it difficult to withdraw their fund's, that is why before investing in any newly launch project first thing you should do is to make a deep research about the project before looking out to make investment, However most of the beginnings don't make research before making any investment, that is the mean reason why most of the beginnings  get scammed so easily.

The halving was a major event that attracted many new investors to bitcoins, some started investing seriously some months to the halving just so to make some profit from it.The halving was what attracted them, but now that the halving has come and gone, do you think that the number of new investors will reduce for the now until the next halving is close again?

@zazarb, if I may be curious and ask how it happened that you sent BTC to the wrong address - was it because you typed the address manually or was it due to clipboard malware that changed the address? The latter does not seem like a realistic option to me, because hackers usually do not use deposit addresses on CEXs, but of course there are those who are not very intelligent.

I first heard about Bitcoin around 2016 but then I had no idea what Bitcoin was. Someone online was saying to work on it because I don't know anything about it. Then I heard about Bitcoin again in 2022 when the price of Bitcoin was 21000 dollars. I did a little research on Bitcoin and saw that it was good. From whom I heard, I said to a brother, brother, let's invest. Buy a bitcoin and keep it.Fifty percent and I invested fifty percent but that brother did not agree then. Day by day the price of Bitcoin was increasing and the price was going up and down around 25, 30, 31 thousand dollars. Still I told my brother to invest but he did not agree. That price eventually reached 74 thousand dollars. I regretted very much why I didn't take a risk. If you want to do something, you have to take a risk, nothing happens without a risk.

I have been very patient up till now - just the last few days have been struggling with it but I will continue to hold.

I am up 85% currently so I'm happy so far but want want a lot more so just need to remember it will take time and expect that to come end of this year / early next year.
