turn mem_speed back on for 0 and 1.   your card probably has a default speed higher than 300 in profile 1, if not 0.  that will prevent you from setting 2 to 300.  higher profile cannot have lower values than lower profile, basic rule of overclocking (some cards don't care, some do).

When I ran it with:

gpu0:

  # remove disabled: or set it to 0 to actually use this card..

  disabled: 0
  debug_oc: 1
  #core_speed_0: 800
  #core_speed_1: 850
  core_speed_2: 900

  mem_speed_0: 300
  mem_speed_1: 300
  mem_speed_2: 300

 #core_voltage_0: 1.125
 #core_voltage_1: 1.125
 #core_voltage_2: 1.125

It is still throwing errors...taking the you cannot have lower values on higher profiles into account I also attempted mem_speed_0:300 1:350 2:400 just to see what the card would do.
Right now I'm just running it stock but if it keeps being stubborn I might just put Windows or something on the USB stick since the stupid poorly designed mobo has the SATA ports blocked by the fan of a videocard...granted this was back when cards were only 1 slot.

I appreciate the suggestions.

The other person with a problem like this just had bad parameters in their config.

Is there a reason you are setting voltage?  Especially why set it in all 3 profiles?  This may be the problem
You also don't need to set the GPU clock in profiles 0 and 1.

Try removing the voltage entirely and the GPU clock except for profile 2.

Alright so (each line is two spaces then command):
gpu0:

  # remove disabled: or set it to 0 to actually use this card..

  disabled: 0
  debug_oc: 1
  #core_speed_0: 800
  #core_speed_1: 850
  core_speed_2: 900

 # mem_speed_0: 300
 # mem_speed_1: 300
  mem_speed_2: 300

 #core_voltage_0: 1.125
 #core_voltage_1: 1.125
 #core_voltage_2: 1.125

Restarting gets:

--[ Debug info for O/C on GPU 0 ]------------------------------------------------

GPU is enabled, overclocking is enabled

OC command - profile 2: DISPLAY=:0.0 /usr/local/bin/atitweak -P 2 -A 0 -e 900 -m 300

Results:
Setting performance level 2 on adapter 0: engine clock 900MHz, memory clock 300MHz
ADL_Overdrive5_ODPerformanceLevels_Set failed.

I'm not sure if this was ever resolved since aside from being a Linux noob I think this kind of trailed off as far as I could follow.

None of the overclocking configurations in the bamt.conf work on my HIS 5850.  They tweak my Sapphire 5830 fine and when I used to only run the 5850 under and older version of BAMT I think it was 0.3? the settings worked correctly.

Dont know if Canada is like tghe us but the lender could just put a lien on the title
I don't know how it works in this case, however you can put a lien on a vehicle however it transfer to whoever he sells it to.
65  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Bitme torrent tracker invites on: February 21, 2012, 02:32:26 AM
Hey everyone.  Since I have gotten a few PMs, I suppose I should put this out there.  I could get at least $25-30US if I wanted cash for these but I don't.  This is my new little hobby and I'm looking for some BTC to reinvest into mining hardware.  So any offers near "market" rate are welcome.  Thanks!
That's like saying you're selling access to The Piratebay, Demonoid, or heck even how to Google.  Regardless if it's a hobby or not you're hinting at the price you're looking for.

Selling invites to any tracker is pretty low and most if not all private trackers will ban your account eventually.

Received mine yesterday, got it for the gf.

Fast shipping even to Canada - I didn't get a chance to eat any since she and her mother had the whole box I ordered.

What kind of rate are you getting on the core now on any of your FPGA's?
68  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme Plus 2 Coolers on: February 05, 2012, 06:58:56 AM
Does it take up more than two slots including the card?

For example, I have 4 5970's on an asus p8p67 WS motherboard.Would all 4 cards still fit if I installed one of these on each of them?
That would only work if they were on risers outside of a case since they would take up 4*3 slots.

So you can crossfire with these? I thought they were 3 slots each
Asus Maximus 4 Extreme-Z has enough pci-slots to support 2 of them and the recommended ports for 2-way sli/crossfire are slots 1 & 3 not 1 & 2.

Brand new. Still sealed. Works for ATI 5000 6000 and 7000 series. Also works for nvidia GTX 200 400 and 500 series.

They are amazing coolers. Ive seen temps drop 20+ degrees. They are completely silent too. $70 each. 1 coin ship.

http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/376/accelero-xtreme-plus-ii.html

I have these on my 6950's Crossfired and it is exactly like BTC guy says.  Quieter than my case fans and drop temperatures by over 20 degrees C. Assuming you have the space these are amazing coolers with very easy to follow instructions.

Good luck selling them.

Sometimes I wonder if this forum promotes circle-jerking.

Now on topic: From what I understand Azelphur does know wondermine in real life (correct me if I'm wrong) however Terasic ships boards out in 2-3 days with their expensive and only option for shipping.  The comment about making a $10 donation or 3 in BTC is odd but whatever we've all said things that don't quite sound logical.  Through the power of communication wondermine gave me my own special super secret address to send contributions to so that he can keep track of them, it isn't hard.

I also heard that this guy's a Canadian therefore he can't be trusted. Now I demand +1's and a pat on the back - and for the super skeptics I just recently got torches and pitchforks in stock  Smiley

Kind of makes me wish I stayed in Comp Eng.  Even though it's been 2 years the block diagram wasn't that hard to understand - it's the VHDL that'll get ya Smiley

As like many of us don't have much time to spend on going through huge configuration and testing sessions I would like to ask if there will be a 'out-of-the-box' version for us dummies?

Just plug into USB or whatsoever and go!

Jabba

i second this.
I believe that on his webpage you can pre-order a DE0 Nano pre-configured however I would wait until there is more progress.  You're best bet is supporting the project through donations/whatever before ordering one and realizing it won't be ready for a bit then being mad about having to wait so long. (See BFL for example)
73  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Honey Caramels for Valentine's on: January 30, 2012, 11:54:34 PM
Would you offer to ship to Canada if I paid for the extra shipping or is there a customs thing that I cannot import it?
74  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Nanominer - Modular FPGA Mining Platform on: January 30, 2012, 11:28:07 AM
To be fair I don't understand CSS it's way after my time.

When I spoke to wondermine it's not like he was forcing his FPGA solution on me.  I plan on purchasing the core probably by the end of the week and ordering a board through a retailer.  He suggested other types of FPGA's that I could use and where to purchase them and other possible solutions.  In fact to purchase the nano board from him pre-configured isn't a horrible deal considering it's actually cheaper through him if you consider the shipping from the retailer.  Granted having photos of it going would be nice and I still have my suspicions however from the sounds of it I'm the only person who actually got in contact with him.
75  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Nanominer - Modular FPGA Mining Platform on: January 30, 2012, 10:37:36 AM
So he registered the domain 2 days ago I don't know what the big deal is - I don't have a bunch of domains already registered for services I haven't thought up of yet.

If you bothered to really look into it his contact info is a University email address.  If something goes wrong you have his name and where you can find him for most of the day I mean unless of course that email account is really his /conspiracy.

That explains why the dust is blacker than my ex's heart Grin.

But yeah after school I'm going to pick up an aircan and clean it out I look forward to getting to use it.

Just use a garden hose ::smirk::
A garden hose? Do what with it exactly?

To get all the dust out!
No idea how that would work but with compressed air, a vacuum cleaner, and some Kleenex I managed to clean up the card to basically looking like new - not sure if I picked up cancer along the way, we will see.

Thanks EP.

I just received my card today (5830) and I'll be able to give it a test run later tonight, need to let it warm up a bit since it was chillin' outside and it's like -5.

Thanks EP, though I found the tape-to-box ratio very very high however that might have just been because of customs.  Also you should totally vacuum your computer area lol.
