Hello all,
For some reason the login details to ixcoin.org I gave to Vlad2Vlad weren't working anymore. I have updated them and it seems to work now. I look forward to seeing changes to ixcoin.org from Vlad2Vlad. Please contact Vlad2Vlad with your website update contributions. Thanks.
I'm happy to put a bounty up for this or other Ixcoin related developments if that helps.

Unless you want to work something out with ahmed_bodi to obtain the github.com/ixcoin repository, it will become the new official ixcoin developers link for 9.2 and beyond.
Thank you for your work. I can give ahmed_bodi collaborator access to the Ixcoin github if people think he is trustworthy.

THOMAS,
Can you also give your chosen rep access to your iXCoin twitter account? We have other twitter accounts but I think yours looks the most legit.
If not then I'll use the @IXCFoundation twitter account which I created recently since that's a legit looking one as well.
Regards...
I don't believe Twitter allows me to give others access to the account. If there is a way, then please let me know. Let's see how things go with your management of the website and go from there.

Thank you so much!
Best of luck, Thomas!
I can give you access to the website. If I do so, I would like you to keep the following: * General layout * Current IXC logo * Top description paragraph of IXC * Bottom FAQ You can change the rest. Or link to other internal or external pages.

Hi,
I haven't read through all the forum posts since I last checked last month. Apparently ahmed_bodi has developed or is developing an update to 0.9.2. I'm happy to look at it and maybe someone can send me a link to the release/code. If the community has an opinion on his work, please let me know too. If it looks good and the community is fine with it, I can pay the bounty.
I see someone is mentioning updating ixcoin.org. I'm happy to give a trusted someone access to ixcoin.org to put more updates there as I don't have the time to work on it myself.

Just wanted to check in and say that the 50K IXC bounty is still up for grabs

Hi all,
I'm offering a 50K IXC bounty for anyone who updates the Ixcoin client to Bitcoin Core 0.9.2.1 and compiles it for Mac, Windows, Linux 32/64 + Ubuntu PPA.
Bounty will only be paid if all binaries of the updated source (Win, Mac, Linux) are delivered, correct? What's the deadline? Yes. Updated binaries and source. There is no deadline. Howveer if a new update of Bitcoin Core comes out before the new IXC client is released, the release should be updated to the latest Bitcoin Core code.
|
|
|
Look forward to your work.
I want to make sure miners and exchanges can use this updated release so that they are ready to go.

I think ixc community needs a 0.9.1 wallet.
Agreed. Is Frictionless interested in doing this?

Is there a delay? I checked dot org and it's still the old site.
It's a modified version of the old site yes. It links to ixcoin.eu and ixcoin.co. I like the countdown you have on there, maybe we should include it in Luke's design. But I noticed it went from 191 days to 150 days overnight, so is the 150 days correct now? Less than 6 months?
Thank you. I did a recalculation as I'd assumed we were lower in the total current amount of IXC. This estimation should be closer ~ around September 2014. Thomas, what's your opinion of what we should do as we approach terminal mining of 21 million if transactions and adoption don't pick up?
Adoption is key to maintain a high-hash rate. It will be an interesting experiment for Bitcoin community to see what happens to its closest coin in terms of age reaching full issuance.

Updated Ixcoin.org accordingly.
|
|
|
That's the website I link to on ixcoin.org (see under the Download new section).
|
|
|
Can you point your site towards Luke's so we can get it updated to the new look? Or are we going to keep 3 different sites with 3 different looks?
What is Luke's url please?
|
|
|
Ixcoin.org is back up.
I'm waiting on Frictionless to send him the bounty (as well as Luke).

Do you mind revealing your alter-ego?
Yes And please don't compare me to Mark Karpeles. I might be flaky, but I haven't stolen anyone's money.

Question: why is the website ixcoin.org not yet mirroring ixcoin.co? Please Nasakioto, do it. Work hard as IXC was your own coin... Ah! But ... It is your coin... I've been distracted lately with the Mtgox debacle. But I'm trying to get the website back up. I'd like to keep a separate domain for the .org with a placeholder page with prominent links to ixcoin.co . I'm getting nowhere with basicnetworks.net so I've just registered with someone else. Waiting for them to invoice me in bitcoin.

Thomas, we've had debates for months now as to what the meaning, if anything, was behind choosing iX for the coin name. Cause besides the number 9, it doesn't really stand for anything. And also, there were a lot of ways to mix up Satoshi's name to get an anagram; why did you choose Thomas, which is not Japanese, when you probably could have jumbled the letters together and gotten some Japanese sounding name.
Brilliant move BTW - in choosing a Japanese name and having it be an anagram of Satoshi - a twin for a coin designed to be a twin with a hidden meaning of twin - blew me away when I saw that the first time. Not sure if that was planned or a mere accident but that's Brilliant.
I preferred Thomas as it is more recognized as a first name. There's a bunch of reasons and compromises why I choose Ixcoin. I'll write it up sometime.

|
I think I may have figured out who the 'Twin' is: Gavin Andresen Chief Scientist of Bitcoin Foundation iXcoin is an experiment to see what happens when mining subsidy is removed. Here is your evidence: https://bitcoinfoundation.org/blog/?p=204I gave Gavin a 5K IXC, along with other prominent Bitcoin community members at the time of Ixcoin launch. I think he sold them, but he did accept them.

There is a coin called CounterParty that works of the Bitcoin blockchain. This plan is to port CounterParty to iXcoin. There will be no-need to change the 0.8.6 client. This is additional software to enable iXcoin with the following additional capabilities: https://www.counterparty.co/These allows iXcoin to also work with 'exchange like' capabilities. Let me know if there is any intersest in this project? I am seeking 50,000 IXC for this to CounterParty port to be created. I need to read up about it. 50K is pricey. Not sure we can get that many funds together.
