Ok, i've done a lot of reading the past few weeks on NEM. I've got myself a healthy amount of NEM, but... i have a few questions, which may have been answered before, but i haven't found the answers yet, so would welcome any replies.

1. Is there any plans to decrease the minimum amount of NEM needed to become a supernode? To me, its just making those rich, even richer, and those who are less fortunate have harvesting. Harvesting is great, but Poloniex is the biggest harvester and is making a fortune whilst us little guys really have no incentive to harvest at all. Surely the more Supernodes that exist then the stronger the network? There is no mining, no proof of stake, all we have is harvesting (and super expensive SNs) and to be totally honest, the system seems a little unfair now.

2. When it comes to NEM and the public and private blockchains. If i were a business/government who wanted to utilise landstead, apostille or the next apps that come out, am i actually just buying into the security of the network over the apps, because being open source really means that anyone could create their own blockchain use all the functions currently in any open source alt coin for free (minus the cost of the dev who creates it) making it free for the business..

And i've announced myself. The ip address which is being announced is right (My pub ip add)

I have over 500k sia in my wallet so i'm sure i've got enough sitting there for this to work..

However, after 48hrs i still don't see myself when i type 'hostdb' in the terminal, or on sia pulse.

Have i dont anything wrong, or has anyone else had an issue like this before?

Hello NEM forum!

Quick question:  is the fact that nem sees such low volume due to the fact that it is POI and not POS or POW? Because no miners are manipulating the price or whales doing the same earning mega interest.. if it is then that's great because it would seem that the price and NEMs cap are one of the most natural in crypto. Any thoughts on this?

Also, after doing a lot of reading on NEM, i understand that it is pretty amazing and quite far ahead of most of its competitors. Also the recent study into the security of the top blockchain projects proves NEM is leading in some aspects. Why is it then, that I have never bothered to give NEM any time to read up on? Because I'm no one special and I guess most people are like me in crypto land who just read up on projects when it catches their eye.

I witnessed the pump last year but (luckily now) didn't buy in at that time. I understand also that the partnership is what fueled this rise. But why 6 months later is the price back to what it was pre-partnership announcement (within reason). Also, with the new applications released running on NEM, why has there been no news releases or anything? It's a big deal right? Both that and the security study that was carried out.

I just want to understand this community and project a bit more before buying in.

I see that this is a UK exchange registered in the UK. Great as I am from the UK. But there are no native speakers in dev team, or at least the community advisors. Also, many options as usual for Fiat deposits from USD EUR and RUB... but none for GBP.

I am trying to download the blockchain on the SIA UI v1.0.4 however i am hitting a few barriers. I have made it to block 83173 and now the UI just says 'siad has stopped' if i click 'start siad' it starts for about 3 seconds and then bins out again.

Is there any advice anyone can give me please? I have tried restarting the program but nothing changes.. I had previously tried re-syncing the BC after i got stuck at block 40XXX (can't remember specifically).
