Has POS started and what percentage is it please..

Yes, and this is the PoS schedule from OP:

POS Rewards:
Fixed 8% beginning at block 7001-500,000
Fixed 7% beginning at block 500,000-1,000,000
        Fixed 6% at 1,000,000-2,000,000
        Fixed 2% at 2,000,000+

Percentages are annual interest, minimal holding period is 20 days, and we are in the period above denoted in bold.

sorry for the absence in these two day, we're gonna update VIOLETCOIN with a forced change of BLOCK DIFF ADJUSTMENT TIME!

No worry and buy now that it's incredibly cheap! thanks dumpers!

BINGO! That change is sorely needed... and I am buying for sure!  Cheesy
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] ipoMiner - Profitable multipool targeting new coins on: May 11, 2014, 01:15:30 PM
yep i guess we will get the coins but theres for me around 5-6k sk and thats not worthless Cheesy

i dont know who the owner is of ipominer...maybe he sleeps now..and we are raging at the moment Cheesy

I wouldn't worry about the SC scoring not occuring, it has happened before with other coins and my understanding is that it has to do with a lock being placed on a database table. ipominer has always resolved this without any loss to miners, and I am sure it will be so again. I've been  mining here close to a month and this is kind of nagging issue which is usually resolved when ipominer becomes aware of it. And you are probably right that he might be sleeping (they are located in US), there have been a lot of long hours put in by him and his team these few weeks.

@ipominer, SC scoring has been down since the following block

2,798   Completed   kwqqq   May 11 4:32 AM

We haven't seen any issues with locking/unlocking addresses Spoetnik. I assume you're entering your PIN to lock/unlock the address though?

As far as site responsiveness goes, we're working on it -- should see an improvement later today. I'll be working on moving the web server to be closer to the database this afternoon, there may be some downtime on the site but mining won't be affected at all.

Aaaaahhh, the site works nice and fast now. Thank you for performing the change.  Smiley

I apologize again if this has already been answered, but what is the minimal and maximal holding time for staking? I see in the OP that staking starts after 21 days, but nothing else...

Answered my own question, just saw this...

Quote
unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 21;   // minimum age for coin age: 21d
unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 42;   // stake age of full weight: 42d

Belated kudos for the correct decision to delay listing on Mintpal.

Just installed the newest wallet from OP, and following the recommended procedure and limiting the connections to the nodes in the conf file, the Windows wallet synced to block 30166, which at the time of posting was current in the block explorer. All my coins are there, included the staked ones.

Looking good!  Cool

AC scoring is down starting with block 17813 at 7:56 AM EST.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Clean Water Coin | $2,000 Donated to Charity: Water on: April 26, 2014, 03:09:38 AM

I'm still using the last windows wallet, and it seems to stay sync'd ok now.  Been sending out 25k coins as a prize and no TX issues with it...  Have you tried removing the blockchain (do NOT erase wallet.dat -- that is the keys to your coins!) and let it re-sync?

Done multiple times, at one point it worked, then it it stopped working...

errors on the wallet + it wont synch properly anymore

This is so retarded

One thing that I can suggest adding to YouIsPeng's example of using connect=IP_address nodes is to put listen=0 in your conf file. That way there should be no new nodes added to your peers. Of course, this will only work until the nodes you use are current with regard to current block number.

Have you also considered the fact that sometime next year everyone will mine 50% less coins due to increase in the n-factor?
This isn't true... everyone will have half the hashing power, so everyone will get the same amount of coins (everyone would still have the same proportion of total network power, since everyone's rate halves).

Yup, you're right, my bad.  Roll Eyes
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXE] Execoin - Fast | ASIC resistant | Multipool proof | KGW | no-premine on: April 25, 2014, 02:36:07 PM
OK here are my thoughts about the proposal... I agree with a lot of what powercntl said and would like to add few more points.

I assume the chief concerns of the EXE team are 1) fixing coin overproduction 2) stabilizing and increasing EXE value, 3) rewarding miners and maintaining hashrate, 4) building a community, and 5) fostering a widespread adoption.

The problem with the proposed change is that it heavily punishes miners, and rewards early adopters/hoarders. If this proposal becomes reality, then rational behavior is to hoard/mine as much as possible now and dump all or substantial part of it after the hard fork when there is a pop in EXE value. I think it would help achieve 1), help short term with 2), fail on 3), and not address 4) and 5).

I agree that coins are being overproduced, but hitting miners with 80% subsidy decrease which will even increase future is unfair as those are the people that have carried you thus far. Why would they continue mining? It would be more beneficial to them to mine something else, and then buy EXE if they want it. In addition, it is assumed that resolving coin overproduction would mean a substantial EXE price increase, which might not be true. In order for the price to increase substantially, there has to be perception of value and utility of EXE, which you will note are both human properties. The more people understand EXE works, the better. The problem we have here is that not enough people know about EXE and as such there is no critical mass to put floor on EXE price. Therefore, even more than 1), it is vitally important that 4) and 5) are addressed really soon, something that has not been happening until now. One thing that the EXE team deserves kudos for are all the tools they have produced to make it easy for people to use EXE, so obstacles to 4) and 5) are not from technological standpoint, it is simply the fact that there has been no coherent plan to engage people about using EXE, and building a buzz around it.

So, to close on an already long post and related to coin overproduction, I think that the subsidy should be dropped to no less than 25, and should be increased once the change in N-factor hits, which hopefully helps retain miners after that point. For example, if the current subsidy is changed to 25, then when the next n-factor hits it could be increased to 30, then 35, all the way up to no more than 50. That way coin overproduction can be reduced, and also keep this worthwhile for miners. And I will also add another thing that I understand might be a sore point with some is that an elegant way to reduce overproduction of coins is to extend the block time. If block time is extended to 1 minute, then 33% less coins will produced compared to now.

Hopefully this makes sense, and I apologize for the long post. I am looking forward to hearing other ideas on how to go about this.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXE] Execoin - Fast | ASIC resistant | Multipool proof | KGW | no-premine on: April 25, 2014, 10:22:41 AM
Decreases of block rewards by 1 percent every month? How long lowering it up to 10 EXE per block?

The idea is the reward will be lowered to 10EXE per block _immediately after the hardfork_ and then slowly decreased even more by 1% per month.

Would any other parameters change, like total coins issued, total PoW timeframe or block time? Can you present a fuller picture of how your proposed changes will affect issuance?

Have you also considered the fact that sometime next year everyone will mine 50% less coins due to increase in the n-factor?

For those that have been asking, we plan on having the official pool back up and working later this evening or first thing in the AM.

Any update on this? Pool still seems to be down  Sad
The new wallet will be tested when they awake.
The problem of transaction and syncing will be fixed.

Have they woken up yet?

It is now well past "later this evening or first thing in the AM" - why is the official pool still offline?

WHat are they doing to the new wallet?

This is complicated stuff. give them a bit of time.

It's not that complicated, not if you know the difference between * and / anyway. It has been over 2 weeks since everything went to shit which is plenty of time to fix and test a new wallet.

I think we have a right to an update from Zach et al, especially when the official pool was promised to be up and running by the night before last, or at the latest yesterday morning, and it is still not going.

I would have hoped that the devs had learnt by now that communication is key, why post that something is going to be done if you're not 100% sure that it will be? You just convince more people that it's not worth sticking around. I am an IPO investor and have been here since day one waiting patiently for things to be sorted but many will not be as patient. **sigh**

Amen, brother, that last paragraph explains my thoughts and position exactly. We have heard about progress, now is time to actually see it. If Mintpal inclusion actually happens soon and major problems are still not sorted out, then it is lights out.

Great! Let's start with a simple objective, a proof of concept, and go from there once we see what we can do, how big a wall we can build together.

Let's try to take and hold 0.00004 BTC/EXE on the bid side. I'm about to put in a bid at this price, using my FLT mining proceeds since yesterday. Here are the order stacks on Cryptsy right now:

I'll place a bid to buy 250 EXE (I have a small rig) @ 0.00004 BTC. This will take out the 39 EXE order at the top of the ask stack, but the remaining 211 probably won't last long. I'll do the same tomorrow. If I see a wall form at 0.00004, I'll add some BTC I have in reserve to support the wall.

I'm doing the same thing on poloniex. 426 EXE buy order @ 0.00004 BTC each.

Did the same @ .00004 with CINNI proceeds on Poloniex. Will continue doing it until CINNI is mineable for sure.

I deleted my blockchain as before, and my windows wallet sync'd today for some reason!  Have 9 coins for PoS too!  No idea why it syncs today and wouldn't when I tried over and over the other day on both windows and linux.  But it is working right now

Please, tell the nodes you use in the config?

Thanx

Upon opening the wallet, I got stuck on block 13783, looked at getpeerinfo output in the debug console and changed my config file with these nodes:

connect=107.170.217.4
connect=107.170.209.91

Deleted everything except conf and wallet files, redownloaded blockchain and I am now sitting at block 14865 with big fat green checkmark. Will try for PoS now and report back.

EDIT: got additional 99 PoS Staked coins for first few TX from 3/30 and 3/31 in my wallet, expecting hopefully more confirmations so they became available again...

EDIT 2: Got the required 50 confirmations, so now original and stake coins got returned to available balance. So PoS works... for now Wink

I think there may be a problem on WC I appear to be mining blocks but my displayed coin amounts are not going up (on the front end anyway) please can you confirm if there are any problems?

Could be to do with the server move?

Thanks!

@ IPOMINER
 Huh
 Please do enlighten us!
I am on a 90+ Mh/s rig...been on the MP (WC) Pool for 2 hours and I have ZERO Coins confirmed or estimated even.
I HAD set the share difficulty for the worker @ 1024 (max) and I just now - 2 hours after starting to mine -reset the difficulty to 512.

So please help us and let us know whats going on.

Also PLEASE Guide me as to what is the "correct/BEST" Share Diff for my worker which is at 90 to 103 ish Mh/s!

Much appreciate all your time, patience & expertise IPOMINER !

Let me cover my investments and I WILL donate to you!
Cheers mate!

It seems that no payouts have been calculated after block finding 5778 (click on the block number to see that). I am sure it will be fixed soon.
