I delete everything but the wallet.dat and the .conf file and re-open it.  Seems to sync fine most of the time without having to edit nodes looking for one current wallet.

I've had this work most of the time too, but have experienced times when it did not.  Just offered kind of a last resort approach to try if things really don't want to work for you.

Wallet synced at block 16061.  Thank you for the advice BrianB. I'm looking forward to my coins maturing tomorrow so that I can start minting.  Smiley

By the way, I'm launching the wallet using this batch file.
Code:
cleanwatercoin-qt.exe -checklevel=5 -checkblocks=10000
I'm not too familiar with the -checklevel and -checkblocks commands but I thought it was worth giving them a try.  One of the functions of -checklevel is to verify that the transactions found in each block are on the main chain. The -checkblocks command determines how far back to look at previous blocks and verify that they are valid when starting up (default is 2500). It seems like using these commands might help to prevent accidentally ending up on the wrong fork. At least this is my understanding of how it works.  I'm still a noob, so feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I've been able to fix the "WARNING: Invalid checkpoint found!” error by deleting the block chain and syncing directly to one node that I think is correct.   For example, to sync to just the block explorer use connect=107.170.209.91 in the config file with no other addnode statements.  Once the block chain comes down and if the error goes away I would shut down the wallet and back up the block files so that if it happens again you won't have to wait for the entire chain and then change the config file back (use addnode=107.170.209.91 etc.) so that you connect to as many nodes as possible again.  (This is so that when you run PoS or PoW you will support the network best and not run into having as many blocks orphaned).  I hope this is the right approach, I'm new to this too, and just stating what I've done to fix the problem for myself. (Perhaps it would be nice if someone told us what the checkpoint server ip was so that we could sync to that if the error happens, or is this not the right approach?)

I've used the two latest conf files itt and I'm still getting "warning invalid checkpoint found"

I have deleted everything except the conf file and the wallet.dat many times.  I'm not exactly a wallet noob but I dunno what the deal is here.  Any suggestions?

using this conf file:
addnode=148.251.12.125

Also, count me in:

edit:  I just got my first minting.

Wallet says "current number of blocks"

"errors" : "WARNING: Invalid checkpoint found! Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or notify developers."

And now I have the green checkmark but still have the error.

On current difficulty of 0.327898 a 1MH/s rig would generate about 54,850 WATER a day.

Would they really add the coin before the wallet is fixed???  I'm all for adding it and getting it going, but doesn't the bug fix need to be out and get pools working first?

I worked with Pro Miner all day to try to get payouts to work. We didn't have any luck. At this point there are well over 25K coins somewhere in the block chain missing. If anyone knows what the issue is please let me know. We cant find any errors, we are both on the same fork, most of them have confirmed some of them haven't. Nothing is showing up in the block explorer. If anyone is have trouble with large transactions it would be great to know. But from what we can see there should be no reason why these transactions should be in my wallet.

Edit: This being said it is not advised to mine in this pool. We are working hard to get it working but for now it seems solo mining is the only option.

This is actually a good point. Mintpal is one of the best exchanges for sure and adding CWC there would help out a lot. But with all that is going on it might not be best to add it. Things are certainly moving in a good direction though. Bittrex is a very good exchange and we should keep trading there and get that value up. This coin still has so much potential and will surprise a lot of people very soon.

Innovative and New Charitable Organization Based on Cryptocurrency -- Clean Water Coin

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., March 27, 2014 -- Today, Clean Water Coin, a non-profit organization that has designed and developed a cryptocurrency "coin" that specializes in raising charitable funds, announced its launch as the first Crypto Charity. This California based NPO seeks to forge a strong relationship between the budding cryptocurrency industry and the non-profit sector by offering a new and innovative way to donate to a charitable cause. "We designed Clean Water Coin to have a function that donates a small portion of every transaction. So any time people mine or use our coin they are actively participating in a new peer-to-peer method of supporting charity," said Zach Mettra, Co-founder of CleanWaterCoin.org. The organization collects the coins from each transaction in a Charity Wallet, exchanges those coins to Bitcoin, and then donates that to charity.

Bitcoin, the most recognized and popular cryptocurrency, has made headlines over the last year because of its increasing value and ability to offer an alternative to the current economic system. The growing community that supports Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, like Clean Water Coin, has recently shocked organizations around the world by raising substantial funds for charity.

"People have mistakenly attributed a negative reputation to crypto. The whole movement is based on freely exchanging and improving this technology and infrastructure, and there's hundreds of thousands of people cooperating and working together. It's no surprise that the community is extremely charitable and willing to donate to help others in need," said Hyrum Taylor who co-founded the organization. "With Clean Water Coin, our goal is to direct all this positive energy and offer a completely new way to give to charity."

Clean Water Coin will officially be available starting Sunday, March 30th. The organization states that they will initially be donating all funds they raise to charitywater.org, where they have created a campaign called "Digital Drops." When asked why they chose charity: water Zach said, "We researched a number of charities and they really stood out to us. They promise that 100% of donations go into the field and they back that up by running a truly open-book organization. Internally, we've set a goal to emulate them and operate with the same kind of honesty and integrity."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The current state of cryptocurrency is one of the most incredible opportunities any of us will likely participate in throughout our lifetimes. What we have is an innovative and paradigm breaking vehicle, and what’s so intoxicating and alluring is that immediately before us we have these critical check points that are leading cryptocurrency towards an evolutionary period that will determine the fate of an entire industry.

Except for a couple examples, the majority of new coins that have launched in the last 3 months have been successful at achieving only 2 things: profit and deterioration of our industry. We have been plagued by scams and copy cats for weeks. If we continue at this rate our greed will kill this beautiful system. Do not fool yourselves into thinking that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are so innovative and superior that they will simply rise to their places at the top of the economic world. You need only remember Edison and Tesla to have a prime example of how the better ideas and technology do not always win.

It’s time for our community to actively choose an evolutionary path that leads to continued growth and wider spread acceptance. We must move beyond this period of stagnation. You can help. You can make a difference. How? By supporting only the most creative and innovative coins; and by making that choice not based on greed but thoughtful consideration.

Despite all that doom and gloom, it’s amazing to sit back and watch the crypto community; at times there is so much goodwill and charity where people are donating their time, talents, and money. It has been inspiring to see coins and groups of people rally behind differing causes and make a difference. Experiencing it first-hand and participating has left such a lasting and profound impression on us that we could not stop thinking about how we can do more. For several weeks we met and discussed what we could do. We knew cryptocurrency offered an incredibly unique opportunity, you could see it in a few coins that were increasingly focusing on charitable endeavors. The community is inspired and motivated, ready for that positive evolution. We believe we can offer the first of many steps down that path.

Water is the single most important necessity of life. For some of us, access to clean drinking water is as easy as turning on your faucet. But for nearly 1 BILLION people, clean water just isn’t available. In most cases, men, women, and children have one single source of water that is so polluted and contaminated it has become a poison. As a result, more than 4,000 people die EVERY DAY! 9/10 of deaths that are a result of unsafe and contaminated water are children under the age of 5. It’s difficult to fully comprehend that kind of devastation. But focusing on stats and merely discussing the issues won’t help, it’s time to actively participate.

The Clean Water Coin Initiative is the first ever coin designed and developed to be a nonprofit organization. What does that mean? We are a registered Nonprofit Organization and we’ve created a Crypto Charity and coin that lets a community actively participate in helping provide clean water. To do that we've teamed up with CharityWater.org so that we can create campaigns and raise funds for clean water projects. Also, the community can easily track exactly how we are doing by visiting our campaign page.

We’ve built a unique function into the coin network so that everyone who mines or even uses Clean Water Coin will be helping save lives around the world. Every transaction will donate 0.1% of that transaction to the Charity Wallet, here’s an example: I’ve mined 1,000 Clean Water Coins and I request a manual payout from my pool. As a result of this transaction 1 coin will be donated to the Charity Wallet and the remaining 999 is sent to my wallet.

All donations will go to the Charity Wallet and from there will go to our CharityWater.org Digital Drop Project. To prevent flooding our own market with donated coins we will set a recurring schedule to exchange to BTC, this will help to prevent large sums building up over extended periods of time and exchanging all at once. We intend to exchange BTC to USD in order to donate to charity: water. We will also offer the community the ability to purchase Clean Water Coins from the Charity Wallet. Pricing will be established from a market average and the amount of coins available will depend on total donations to the Charity Wallet. More details regarding this feature are soon to come!

We recognize that there are many factors that go into the valuation of a coin. Some of those things we can attempt to control and affect, but others rely on the community, exchanges, and the industry. So rather than only relying on trading and exchanges to dictate pricing, we’ve gone to great lengths to add value to holding and using Clean Water Coin.

The first way we’ve done this is to provide advertising opportunities that can only be purchased with Clean Water Coins. We’ve beautifully integrated an advertising section into CharityWater.org, on each of our wallets, our official and temporary pools, and our official faucet. We’ve also developed code that can be imbedded into pools and community sites that will give more people an opportunity to participate and be charitable without having to donate money or coins. Don’t worry, we will have a strict policy for appropriate content and types of advertisements--we don’t want this to become a burden for the community, it’s intended to be a benefit. Check out some ad examples below:

Wallet Ad Placement

Pools Ad Placement

Another way we intend to add value is to offer an official source to purchase Clean Water Coins for BTC rather than having exchanges as the only source. All the coins that we will sell will come from the Charity Wallet and the BTC will be donated to charity. Offering this service will be valuable to the community because it allows us to convert the Charity Wallet into BTC without going to an exchange and help us to donate the maximum amount to CharityWater.org.

We also have a roadmap of features and services that we are working on and will be able to offer in the future. We can’t reveal everything incase one of those features falls through--we don’t want to promise more than we can deliver and let down the community. However, here is a sneak peak of two features in development:

WATER Rally - Use your Clean Water Coins to purchase tickets to attend events to help raise awareness and further our cause. We are currently planning out events now.

Write-off WATER Donations - Once we obtain our official 501(c)3 status donating WATER to the Clean Water Coin Initiative will be tax deductible! Achieving this goal is already underway but it is a difficult and long process. There will be some restrictions but as we get closer to our goal we will share the full details with you.

Hi wisdom, there was a link on the official site to download the wallet. It was removed when it emerged that there was a bug in the wallet code and I'm sure it will be put back once the new wallet is released.

Oh man if CleanWaterCoin hits Mintpal now with the abomination that the network is suffering things are going to get even worse for the coin.  People will see it on Mintpal and look for pools to mine. When they dont work its only going to tarnish the name even more. People will want the wallet and when coins dont show up people will get mad.

water.prominer.org is down for the coind is returning "RPC method did not return 200 OK" and is not making any payout since a few days, when the coin gets fixed I'll update the pool and send out all payments. Good luck.

For those that have been asking, we plan on having the official pool back up and working later this evening or first thing in the AM.

Any update on this? Pool still seems to be down  Sad

The new wallet will be tested when they awake.
The problem of transaction and syncing will be fixed.
