I'm sorry to be one of those guys, I can't seem to get a clear understanding of how to do the swap :/

Should I PM someone? Or is there a thread dedicated to swaps?
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Securitycoin [SCSY] RELAUNCH | Bittrex | Ccex | Community | NEW POW / POS / VPOS on: February 14, 2015, 05:26:59 AM
Wallet is not syncing. Coin is dead, dev's out.

This fucking greedy dev dumping all coins from swap fund. See the posts from users who do not receive swap coins.

Lol, well...

This is simply not true  Grin

I assure you, all dev's are currently staking except for me, and you can find me right here:
https://beta.bittrex.com/Market/?MarketName=BTC-SCSY

Credit card purchasing proved to be a huge success ($4k+ in < 24hours). We ran out of bitcoin to provide the buy support of each sale (as people ultimately want bitcoin, so they dump the securitycoin almost immediately). Not only does acad have a loan funding right now, but we're also forming relations with other processors and liquidity providers. Credit card purchasing will be huge for stabilizing our market value.

Stabilizing is just that though, stable, that doesn't mean a rise.

What will create a rise is discovering a long term maintainable system, and selling the architecture to other coin dev's and requiring them to pay in security coin. This will create large substantial demand for our coin ('pumps' you could say).

What will create more rises is another product we have in R&D at the moment, our LAN autostaker. A little device you interact with via a web browser on the same network (like an antminer) that stakes for you. This device will of course be exclusive to securitycoin users at first, but there's no reason we can't make this device for other coins, but require the customer to pay in securitycoin.

I've actually got the prototype of our LAN autostaker sitting on my table as I type (need a micro sd adapter as I don't think debian was flashed correctly to the card by the manufacturer).

Sciak has been in and out of "the bunker" (him not being social but working on securitycoin) adding in another feature to the 2.1 wallet.

So...I assure you, we are not "out". You are misinformed, and apparently haven't done your homework here on this thread.

We are having some syncing issues intermittently from DDOS attacks on various nodes of the network. We are doing what we can, and getting as many nodes behind DDOS protection as we can is an obvious effort we are undergoing.

I'm Kamron btw, the technical manager and a non-core dev from the dev team for securitycoin.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Securitycoin [SCSY] RELAUNCH | Bittrex | Ccex | Community | NEW POW / POS / VPOS on: February 11, 2015, 08:59:31 PM
Okay... now it works.  Cheesy

For linux:

The config file Securitycoin-1.4-Full-Release.conf in /home/polycrypto/.config/Securitycoin does not need to be modified.

1. Backup wallet.dat ( /home/user/.securitycoin )
2. Delete the folder .securitycoin
3. Compile the wallet again. #¹
4. Start the wallet, a new folder .securitycoin with a new wallet.dat will be created and the sync should work now.
5. If synchronization is complete close the wallet and overwrite the wallet.dat in the folder .securitycoin with the backup wallet.dat.
6. Start the wallet again.
7. In most cases the indicated number of coins ( Spendable, Stake, Unconfirmed, Total ) are incorrect. Then you open help/ debug window/ console, type repairwallet and press enter.

Done. Now everything should be correct.

#¹ It should also work without compile, but I had a lot of time on the last night to clean up, to sync etc.

Thank you for this, I'm helpless to our linux users :/ and sciak is overworked lol
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Securitycoin [SCSY] RELAUNCH | Bittrex | Ccex | Community | NEW POW / POS / VPOS on: February 11, 2015, 05:10:02 PM

For all wallet sync issues:

We have been dealing with DDOS attacks on our primary node servers. To counteract this, we are looking into setting up some node clusters behind cloudflare protection (and any other DDOS protection we come across, looking for ideas if anyone has some)

Until that point though, there will be syncing issues.

To troubleshoot these issues, first try restarting your wallet. This will reset any stale connections the wallet may have made to a server that has recently gone down from an attack.

If that doesn't work, try adding the addnodes to the conf specified above by gjhigginis (thank you btw) and restart your wallet.

If that doesn't work, step away for 15m and come back to it after letting it run for that time frame. The wallet may need a few minutes to establish connections to the network.

When all of those steps have failed, please join our slack for immediate attention and correspondence. Post your email address here in the thread, in a PM to me or any SCSY dev account, or email me at kam@scsycoin.com IF you need immediate assistance

If the steps above do not work, there is another advanced procedure you can do to re-download the blockchain from the network. This has proven to help some sync issues that weren't able to be fixed by anything else BUT you should back up your wallet first. Which ever method you use to back it up, do it before proceeding with this procedure.

To do this, on a windows computer, you need to be able to see hidden files/directories on your machine. Follow the link below to see how to do this: (If you already are able to do this, skip this step)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7

After you are able to see the hidden files/folders of your windows machine, open windows explorer (not internet explorer) and navigate to your AppData directory (C:/Users/whateverYourUserNameIs/AppData/Roaming/securitycoin/)

Once there, you will see a bunch of files and folders, one of which being your 'wallet.dat' files (super, super important) and your 'securitycoin.conf' file (kinda important, mostly to our advanced users).

To redownload the blockchain, you want to delete everything in this AppData directoryEXCEPT THE 'wallet.dat' AND THE 'securitycoin.conf' FILES

Once the files and folders are deleted, restart your wallet. Should be good and start syncing.

Sorry again for the issues everybody, we're on the case and discussing solutions to these issues.

I don't know how to be more clear about that lol as you will lose your coins if you do delete it.

mine not syncing either, 3166 blocks remaining. and i have noticed over the past few days wallet has been going offline.

The same, no sync ... I'm waiting for a proper solution.

?

The primary nodes of the network have been under DDOS attack, there is nothing wrong with any product. I'm not sure what type of "proper solution" you could be waiting for?

Hey dude - stay cool  Cool
I did not say that something is wrong with the product.
On the contrary, I wrote a lot of good things about SCSY, eg on twitter.

I'm sorry...probably could have worded the text on that a little less abrasive :/ I didn't mean to come off that way

Does not work for me. I compiled my wallet for linux from the source code.
And why should I send you a PM or a email? This is the official SCSY thread on Bitcoin Forum. And Securitycoin needs a strong community, not private calls. If you have problems, published it. Not only great things. If you have a solution for all, published is. Until then - I wait, take a look at the code etc... I hope you understand.

About sending an email or a PM, you totally took that the wrong way I'm sorry. If you need immediate help, that's where we are, we also stay on top of this thread and communicate with eachother on responses/activity. We take this thread pretty seriously as there is more feedback here than anywhere else, and we definitely do not take that for granted Smiley

About compiling the wallet for linux, I have yet to actually do that for myself....sciak would best help you there. He's pretty focused lately on the android wallet, but I'll be sure to get him to come here to discuss the issues you're having. In the mean time, do you think you may be able to post a link to where you might have already explained your issue? Or could you describe what issues your having more so than it just doesn't work. The more information the better Smiley

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: February 09, 2015, 03:41:21 PM
Wore, so syscoin has some management issues, big whoop. You consistently bantering on and on about it just makes you sound whiny. Think you can help them do a better job? Reach out to dano, I'm sure they'd welcome you to their slack channels if you're willing to help.

The core code of syscoin has more advancements in it than anything else in the industry, we both know this. You're consistent "calling them out" is just going to hinder the advancement of syscoin, simply because the dev team will have to keep coming back here to shut you up, and defend themselves.

Believe me when I say I share your frustration, but I'm not sitting on this thread bitching about it.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Securitycoin [SCSY] RELAUNCH | Bittrex | Ccex | Community | NEW POW / POS / VPOS on: February 05, 2015, 08:57:10 PM
SecurityCoin is a usable representation of what the development team feels needs to be included in a true Bitcoin 2.0.

Along with other strengths the core dev team sees in the industry, the technologies we build into our product is something we all believe in. People need a "currency" that (by design) is safe to store their wealth. Along with the crypto-currency itself, we are designing hardware products that will assist in making this type of wealth storage as secure and convenient as humanly possible.

This coin and wallet are turning out to be just as good as the old one
good job

still no word from SCSY dev or SCSY 2.0 or whoever is in charge around here.

Still no word on what exactly?

Who will explain what it is.

Explain what SecurityCoin is?

Of course Cheesy

As far as a traditional road map, we don't have one. We have a list of things we are planning to do with SecurityCoin, but can't put definite dates on anything without a substantial risk of them being pushed back.

A substantial portion of our R&D is venturing into uncharted territory.

A new wallet will be released as soon as possible that will include features within the wallet such as: bittrex trading, IRC #securitycoin channel, block explorer, and a fix for the stake cap.

An android wallet.

Fulfilling swaps.

We are developing an open source hardware wallet that will be able to be plugged into your router and a power outlet for you to stake 24/7 with utmost convenience an a secure fashion to store your coins. The prototype build of this "unit" will give the user the ability to interact with it via a web browser of a machine on the same LAN, much like the way you interact with the antminer S models.

We are also building as many features as we can into the wallets. IRC and bittrex trading are already pretty fancy, but we'd like to be able to offer CC options for buying securitycoin right in the wallet, and anything else the community, or we, can come up with Cheesy

We also are working on a plethora of strategic partnerships with existing crypto industry players, and existing technological forces.

There's alot going on, and our slack is very active daily. If you'd like an invite to our slack to stay up to date with us and to have a direct 1:1 comm channel to the dev team, send me an invite request to: kamron@securitycoin.io
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]►►►DARKGOLD◄◄◄(X13) www.darkgold.co.in [8 exchanges] BITTREX on: January 27, 2015, 06:10:22 PM
DarkGold team has no more funds for further investment in DarkGoldCoin.
Thats what happens when ISO fails and coins were burned.
If there is potential investors out there, pm me.
However DarkGold is still traded way above iso price. And still has a great potential.
DarkGoldCoin and every coin needs community support, and here is not such as case.

Why would anyone invest in a coin where the dev is so quick to blame the community (his investors)?
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Securitycoin [SCSY] RELAUNCH | Bittrex | Ccex | Community | NEW POW / POS / VPOS on: January 27, 2015, 03:04:25 PM
hey develops, i can understand all the job you have to do..but it's almost 2 weeks im waiting my coins..when swap?

Yes.... I am still waiting as well. I have sent messages and no response.

Please update us with some information.

Thank you.

At this moment, we are actually testing a fix for our POS. There was an issue where you would get the cap (640) per POS block, per address. This totaled up to be alot more than we attempted to design for. Our C++ dev has fixed this, and we are on the last day of our test period to ensure it is fixed. This fix will be deployed with the new wallet as soon as possible.

After this deployment of the new wallet, we will be getting back to the swaps. The swaps are a little more difficult than simply sending you the coin you request, because we have to spin up a couple nodes on the old blockchain to verify balances. The requests have been received, noted and will be taken care of as soon as we can verify the addresses.

I'm really sorry for the delay in this situation Sad
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GreenCoin [OP upgrade] - A personalized carbon emission offset credit on: January 26, 2015, 08:45:46 PM
There seems to be some accumulations going on with this coin. Maybe a nice rise in price soon  Wink

I got my bag Cheesy

Just am bit confused still as to what the real plans are here

[goes to dig for previous responses to my earlier comments]
