141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][JPC]JackpotCoin, New Dev and New Plans! on: January 23, 2015, 06:17:47 PM
Sorry if I'm missing something here, but the original dev has walked, a new dev has stepped up to the plate, and a new wallet will be released soon, is that correct?

Is there any kind of plans documented anywhere of what the new dev plans to do with JPC?
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Securitycoin [SCSY] RELAUNCH | Bittrex | Ccex | Community | NEW POW / POS / VPOS on: January 23, 2015, 04:41:16 PM
I've sent the information by email for the swap but never received the coins on the new wallet...

That needs to be addressed.

Agreed. The C++ dev (sciak) is focusing on vital issues with the new wallet, and issues we know of with the VPoS. After these items have been fixed/tested/deployed, the next item on the agenda is spinning up temporary nodes on the previous blockchain to be able to validate the amounts of scsy for the swaps that currently have not been taken care of.

Looking back over the 8 months one thing I can say is interesting and somewhat unexpected was the difficulty in growing an ecosystem where there is a Foundation essentially giving something away for free.

I was watching "Brain Games" the other night and this segment kind of made sense that way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAa1OBWJ9Y0

I feel a big part of the getting people to realize it's true/possible is also simply getting it into their faces, and showing them. In the video you can see one person started it all and then more and more came exponentially. A content funnel would do this, and a good way to get a content funnel going is to have a group of people all create their own content. Best way to do this is to pay them. There's thousands of people all willing to do something for satoshis, for 20mBTC we could do a weekly contest or something. 'Most impressive ways to recycle, record and post to youtube with "Recycling For Greencoin" in the title and this link: http://fake.link.xyz.to.gre in your description'

Thinking "out loud" here lol
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GreenCoin [OP upgrade] - A personalized carbon emission offset credit on: January 21, 2015, 06:57:49 PM
Sorry to be piling on the questions :/

I was curious about a block explorer, is there a functioning one online anywhere right now? Seems the linked explorer is broken. Is there currently a bounty for such a thing?
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GreenCoin [OP upgrade] - A personalized carbon emission offset credit on: January 21, 2015, 04:51:27 PM
Is there any kind of giveaways or any kind of marketing planned? Or, by chance is there an upcoming release of something that could benefit from some marketing?

Maybe anyone who posts a youtube video of themselves doing some kind of green activity get's a reward proportionate to the environmental impact of their recorded actions? Would make for a great content funnel if you required the people to put a link to your website in the video description and required a keyword to be in the title of the video.

I feel the purpose behind this coin is great and unique. It's a great niche IMO and is undervalued.

EDIT: I'll contribute GRE or BTC to any idea I propose, I understand if budgets are low that's no problem
146  Economy / Auctions / Altcoin Trader Assistant Bot on: January 21, 2015, 03:41:36 PM
Hello Smiley

I've been building a trading bot on the bittrex API's. At this point, it can pump Xbtc, dump Xbtc, and pad the books to minimize the spread between the order books.

I'd like to keep building features into it, but it's already proved very useful in it's current state.

I'd like to start getting some information as to how much this software could be worth to others. I'm not sure where else this topic would be best, please move it if I made a mistake in choosing this thread.

More about the software:

I've made this dynamic and easy to use. Example: For padding the books between the spread, you simply give it the currency symbol and it does the rest. It won't use systematic looking numbers, but will keep everything random and just above the dust level. Then also at random times will make orders for a bit larger portions than the dust level. In short, will pad the books with random amounts and random prices as to consistently look natural. There is also what's called an order sequence variable that will allow you to designate the maximum amount of sat's you want between each order used to "pad the books".

Also, if there are any other features you all feel would be important here, please let me know Cheesy. This is to assist other traders as it has me. As we all know, there is no magic involved in trading and no such thing as a magical "trading bot" that will simply make money for you without you having to do anything.

Hope to get some valuable feedback, thanks everyone

Is there a specific place to nominate coins to be added to BCW? Or is this something that's decided at the sole discretion of the dev team?
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GreenCoin [OP upgrade] - A personalized carbon emission offset credit on: January 21, 2015, 03:22:46 PM
Bought us some more time on trex Smiley Hope to hear back from someone soon! I hope to help

kamronk, my last major update was this comment. I am still working on the coin from the renewable production and carbon offset side of things. I'm in contact with a new interested party that is working on a new PoS/PoW upgrade. This serves to fix the main technical issue that the Foundation does not receive all of their intended coins and provide for some additional updates/upgrades. I'll of course keep everyone updated as to the progress. Pending this release, my plan is to immediately restart and up-armor my efforts to reach new producers and market the coin as a carbon offset credit.

Thanks for getting back with me Smiley

POS is a great idea IMO, especially considering the green aspect of it's energy consumption.

I look forward to the future here, do you guys have a slack or a skype or somewhere that ideas can be posted? I don't know how much community involvement you are interested in but I'd like to share some ideas if they're welcome Smiley

Yep all synced back up, with 26 connections even.  Staking worked immediately after unlocking as well.

Thanks again everyone!

Awesome Smiley Good to see you're up and running/staking

Is there any developers on the team for GRE? I'm curious as to what's going on with it, always had a special spot for GRE and would like to see it take off Smiley
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCSY is a SCAM. Investors beware! on: January 20, 2015, 04:05:16 PM
So, are you just mad that you didn't buy at 19satoshi?

With a coin cap below 100million, why would you not buy a couple thousand (at the very least) just to hold and see what happens?

If someone grabs a big bag of some coin, and the dev walks, how is not the wise thing to do to take over the coin and turn it into something?
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: January 19, 2015, 03:41:17 PM
Simple questions:

1: How many coins is the market cap?
2: Can you run sys over TOR?
3: How do the owners earn their money? A cut from Blockchain sales?

1: How many coins is the market cap? - Total coins will eventually be 2 billions, in many many years.
2: Can you run sys over TOR? - things in progress for an alternative method but really a better question to be asked from others on the development team.
3: How do the owners earn their money? A cut from Blockchain sales? - if you list an item for 2,000 SYS then you will recieve 2,000 SYS. It's not based on a share or anything it's your own sale. You can either lost directly on the main blockchain marketplace or make your own Blockmarket (28th January release, currently in beta syscoin.market for information)

3: But how do the owner earn their money? If not a cut from sales, then premined coins? How many premined coins?

I think those questions is really important.

blockmarket owners make money the same way any business does. Buy things in bulk, and sell retail for syscoin, thereby making money via the slight markup.

I think he/she is under the impression that Blockmarket is a centrally owned enterprise and that the owner gets a percentage of sales revenue from market owners.

I was under that impression, but after more reading I came of that conclusion.

My questions is: How do the syscoin development team earn their money, they syscoin owners. Buy selling premined coins? If so, how many premined coins do they have?

I'm sure each person on the dev team has their own bags, but other than that, they won't be making anything as far as how many people use syscoin.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: January 16, 2015, 03:19:13 AM
Question: Why does my wallet address not show an accurate balance on Blockexperts?

We were just talking about this today. It's because Blockexperts is a "cookie cut" block explorer, or "one to suit them all" so to speak.

It is not designed for syscoin specifically. So it doesn't take into account things like the transaction fees of the syscoin network. A custom block explorer for syscoin will be coming after the releases this month.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: January 15, 2015, 10:38:02 PM
I am fully supportive of the SYS Dev Team and the Syscoin Collective. I have been on here since pre ICO and read everything. But I am curious as to who all is part of the Syscoin Collective, and how the Collective and the Dev Team interact.

Is it possible that something informal and quick could be posted about who is in the Collective (those who don't wish to be identified could be listed as privacy protected), and how the Dev Team and the Collective relationship works? Maybe it has been posted in the past and I've missed it, and to be honest I don't have much free time to hang out on slack/IRC so am just interested in the TL:DR version.

BTW am thrilled with progress, innovation, and price action! Keep on doing what you are doing!

The collective has actually been working on a Q&A interview with all member of dev (organizing and collecting their responses to what we would consider the hard questions the community is frequently asking, examp: Where's my hat? lol), maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to atleast include some bio info on who we all are that are in the collective and not on the dev team Smiley as there is already info out there on them.

Our relationship with the core dev team is direct working relationships. We assist the core dev team in decision making, third party syscoin services, and community response time. There are a wide range of skills in this group from marketing professionals, developers, PR expertise and all of us are overall business professionals with existing careers.

Hope that is a descriptive enough TL;DR version Smiley

Current Status of Blockmarket

TL;DR - It takes a while to load items into the cache of your browser, hitting refresh before it loads the first time it resets the cache, but once it's done, it stays there unless you do SHIFT+F5 which resets your cache and refreshes the page. It's a developer tool mainly, but some people use the keyboard shortcut to refresh, DONT DO IT. Do not press SHIFT+F5 to refresh your page after it loads the first time (~5minutes)

danosphere [1:03 AM]
3.3min to return, and it won't render until they are all returned

danosphere [1:04 AM]
idk its something with the threading down at the RPC "C" level

danosphere [1:04 AM]
that's why i was saying video would prob be better buuuuttt- least we know now

danosphere [1:04 AM]
and i mean, it is up

danosphere [1:04 AM]
the caveat is just that you may have to wait an obtuse amount of time to see items :disappointed: but its a bug we know about

kamronk [1:04 AM]
Yes, it is up, I will post stuff once it loads for me Smiley

kamronk [1:05 AM]
AGreed

danosphere [1:05 AM]
cool- like i mentioned i do know about this issue, and once you get items you can at least peruse cleanly thanks to the cachine

danosphere [1:05 AM]
caching*

danosphere [1:05 AM]
as more items are loaded up, more should show up to 6

danosphere [1:05 AM]
but what should the plan here be as you know most ppl that hit this will see a blank page

kamronk [1:06 AM]
so, once it loads the first time, should be quicker fter that?

kamronk [1:06 AM]
per client?

mwheeleruk [1:06 AM]
Yea

danosphere [1:06 AM]
per client per session

http://syscoin.market/#/

You can see the first BlockMarket Smiley

First bug: Items aren't loading. I've recorded/sent this video to dano and he is hammering away ATK as I type: http://screencast.com/t/oRztnGVA3

Bare minimum I'm pushing dev to get to right now is for everyone to be able to browse items, buying the items will come by tomorrow along with anything else that can be fit in as it is discovered.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: January 15, 2015, 04:20:41 AM
is dano offering same market or different

As me? No

Everyone in the collective will have their own items to sell on the BlockMarket. Dano's will just be the "omega" items Wink
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: January 15, 2015, 04:00:01 AM
URL for the first blockmarket is coming asap everybody

We will be late, but not by much, it will be up tonight A.S.A.P.

I'm on dano's a** making sure of it Wink and working with him directly

To avoid situations like this in the future, I've also voiced to the dev team that dates need to be set differently then the way they have since syscoin's inception. Granted, this doesn't change tonight, but this will make a difference in future releases of syscoin services.

Please be patient everyone Smiley
