1421  Economy / Economics / Re: How to developed your capital on: August 21, 2023, 06:56:08 AM
If you’re living in an Asian household/with a family that doesn’t mind you crashing in for a while so you can come up with the money for your business, do so. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ll be able to save especially with rent. If it comes to the point where you’re avle to start your business, it’s easier to hire relatives/family members too and they would appreciate the gesture as well as it means you’re trusting them.

It’s all about transparency and paying it back when you’re able to get your big break. So if your family doesnmt mind accommodating you as a youth while you setup your business and all that, might as well my friend.

Good point. Make the most of what you have, the connections and resources you already have allow you to have more. However, just a little side note, trust is very important in this aspect, as well as ensuring that you are not being taken advantage of and vice versa. As crazy as it sounds, you cannot fully trust anyone when it comes to business and money, even family. After all, money is the root of all evil. Hence, it is best to still keep some things only to yourself while expressing gratitude to those who helped you.
Both you guys make equally valid points. As a thriving businessman myself (I recently just opened a venture of my own which I'm really proud about), it is way easier to hire close friends, and family members since you don't need to screen them with interviews anymore, and you're able to place them in positions that you know they are capable of since you've known these people for a good while. And while the trust with money is true, I say that it's way easier to handle when you're the boss who pays these people. Long as you guys come up with a passable payment and have it signed through a contract, you guys should be good.

Utilizing your available resources is a perfect way to ensure that not only are you going to have the capabilities to come up with the capital, it's also going to ensure that your business stays afloat through thick and thin.

Thank you, and I agree with you on knowing the skills of your staff and workers, especially since you already know them closely. Additionally, the point about having a contract is a vital point as well, this will ensure that business is business and there are policies to follow, it also strengthens the trust between you and your workers (family or not).
1422  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: August 21, 2023, 05:52:56 AM
We all wish life was easier, but it's not so we've got to make do with what we have.

The degree you want, the career you want, and the business you dream to have won't come easy. I'm of the notion that life doesn't want you to succeed. If you run away from every obstacle then you will never achieve your goal.

I keep seeing forum members make complaints about not getting merits and all. It will be very hypocritical of me to say we shouldn't care about merit and ranking up, but your desire to rank up should lead you in the right direction.
The goal is to learn and grow, then make meaningful contributions that can grow other forum members. It's not going to be easy, and it will take time, but it will be worth it in the end.

This doesn't only apply to the forum but to every aspect of life.
Take a business for example.
The goal of a business is to make a profit but you can't make a profit if certain things are not done right. If you just pursue profit without thinking about other factors, your business will fail.
If your product/service is top-notch, your marketing, packaging, and distribution are done right along with other factors, you will make a profit.
The same thing applies to every aspect of life. A degree, career, or anything at all.

Life itself is a journey of different paths and each person with their pathway in which you have to workout yourself along the way to be distinguished amidst those among you all that started in the journey. Every qualitative effort you put on the way has a consequence on your growth, less effort less growth much effort more growth.

Same way life applies in the forum too, every member is focusing on giving value, and the more your value the more you're recognize and rewarded (merited) by the worthiness of the value you give. And one such way to improve on your value in the forum is for you to learn relearn and creating a mentality of continuous learning only by so can anyone improve in their value and quality leading to their growth.  Generally in life if things are gotten easily and seamlessly, need will not be to strive for improvement.

Learning is equivalent to improvement. No matter what your journey of learning is, may it be full of hurdles and struggles or full of success along the way, still the endgame is you will be able to learn something. What to keep on doing and what not to do. Hence, learning is improvement in a way that you put what you learn to action.
1423  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 21, 2023, 04:56:22 AM
Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...?

A friend of mine asking me a business idea, and he told me it is a big profit business idea, I'm missing out for not entertaining his advice! He told me everything would be smooth sailing, and very big profit too.
Then you should be careful because your friend might just be trying to introduce you to illegal business, because those are the business which you can easily make huge return within a short period of time, or your friend might just be trying to use that to trick you so that you will be interested in the business, which at the end he might end up scamming you, so be careful.

So the business should be: today I officially launch it, the next day, profit start rolling in, and it would last eternally, the income stream keep coming for the next 999 years, and it would be suffice to self sustain, self reliance include financing every operational cost by itself, and only happy ending. Not a single bad ending.
Every business involves growing which is a gradual process, you cant just start a business then you will start expecting profit instantly, i don't really think that's possible, anyone that introduce you to that kind of business might just be trying to scam you, so you have to be really careful. No one will establish a business and will be expecting a good profit the same they, don't be surprise that you might even be running at loss, or you wont make profit or loss.

There are small businesses that make fast profits, like buy and sell, as long as you are able to easily and quickly find customers and clients. However, if OP is looking for a high-profit one after a day then yes I agree with you that is most likely an illegal business. Additionally, a business that OP is describing requires big capital or illegal resources.
1424  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 21, 2023, 02:54:17 AM
Good land locations translate in high cost of investment  which is the ugly side about real estate...
True, that's why only the rich corporations are able to do that unless you're someone who's focused in real estate and is an individual that has a lot of resources and can take a loan and mortgage favored by the banks. Otherwise, you're just going to see the corporations that are on this industry to keep on developing those good locations and they will just rinse and repeat it. Still, you can do some scouting on other locations that are not yet swarmed by properties and companies haven't developed yet.

Exactly. And that is unfortunately something that many fail to either realize or they're just not aware of it. Land location is the core of high-cost investment for real estate. The better the location, the higher the profit. It is a common sense thing as no one will be likely to invest in a property that is in a bad location. Hence, you have to have the resources to find good land locations if you want to lock a good deal.
1425  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: August 21, 2023, 01:21:45 AM
After setting a budget, list all of those expenses that you're about to spend so you will have a track on much is coming in and out for you.

Also when you're doing groceries, list all of the groceries that you're going to buy so that you won't overspend. And the same goes for eating out, before going to groceries, eat at home if you don't intend to eat outside.

Don't let yourself hungry when you pick those groceries because you will overspend and will make you pick those foods that you're craving for.

I like how you suggest doing grocery shopping fully, to ensure that you don't buy anything you don't necessarily need and are not on your list. More often than not, we buy foods that we only want for a day and then let it rot in our fridge and pantry after. Sticking with the grocery list you make is always the best thing to do, and ensuring that is what happens of course adds more.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What micro games is best for you? on: August 20, 2023, 11:39:21 PM
Mines is something that I enjoy. There isn't much money to be had on this game but it sure does help me kill time. Though if you increase your bet size, it's extremely rewarding and can get you hooked for hours on end. I'd say that this game with dice are my go-to 'micro games' whenever I have the chance to gamble. Laid-back gaming without much pressure in strategies or anything.
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 20, 2023, 11:11:55 PM
Current series is Nouns vs Dogchamp and out of nowhere the courier bug is back again on a TI qualifier game...like come one Valve , fix Dota already.

There are always some of these 'minor' bugs that appear out of nowhere whenever TI qualifiers is starting. I don't get why the devs don't put out a stable release a few days before the qualifiers start. I'm pretty sure they have eyes and ears to reddit and other social channels where players are voicing out their concerns on these annoying bugs that plague the game.

I'm curious as to what other bugs there may be in the coming days as the qualifiers progress..
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 20, 2023, 10:27:44 PM
Elon Musk will come up with "crazy genius" ideas that he is known for, and it will not work and he will say that he was "ready to fight but Mark didn't want to do it that way". I mean he could even say that he will go to Space with his spaceships and then fight there with him, and when Mark refuses then Elon will say "as you can see he refused the fight!!". Its really stupid, just do it, you need a ref and a ring that's it, even a single cam from someone shooting it with their phones would be enough at this point, all people would care about would be seeing one of them win, not the fight itself. Its %100 obvious that he is going to end up losing and that is why he is making these moves.

Zuck already dropped the idea and is looking to focus on his next fight with 'real' fighters based on his new post in Threads. He's already not interested since he knows that Elon is just bluffing, and he already offered tons of things to set the fight up and still, nothing is happening. I guess Mark no longer wants to be involved in this cheap marketing gimmick that Elon Musk is trying to do for himself.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: August 20, 2023, 09:55:10 PM
You're out of luck. No crypto gambling platform offers such lines. There are some fiat gambling platforms out there that offer this exact gambling game, so perhaps you might want to try that out. As for Filipino cockfighting events and lines, they do that locally ever since the previous administration banned the said activity, so it'll be a tough one to look for online betting platforms.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effects on LGBTQ+ People on: August 20, 2023, 09:13:03 PM
lol this is pathetic.  I'm just going to bluntly say this because it needs to be said, if you're a homophobe and treat people differently because their gay, then you're small minded scumbag.  Period. I have no respect for people who can't accept others.  I know there's plenty of people on this forum from backwards ass nations where being gay can mean penalty of death and it just boggles my mind that we are still having to deal with this nonsense.

Equality for all, black, white, man, woman, gay, straight...who the f cares!  We are all humans, but all of our genetic makeups are different and how people can't understand that I will never understand.

It's easy accepting people whom have different gender preference than everyone else. Idk why it has to result in discrimination if people can just ignore or move along if it isn't their cup of tea. Also, in gambling, if those members of the LGBTQ+ are paying for whatever they are gambling, why would people still bother them if they are doing things normally anyway in that gambling house?

I would never understand people fully. They will always find a reason to hate no matter what.
1432  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Otoridad/Police nagbabala tungkol sa play to earn scheme on: August 20, 2023, 03:15:37 PM
Though meron talagang obvious scam na play to earn especially sa mga lumabas last bull market like crypto blades, and other same game na ni RUG talaga.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we help to Bitcoin education? on: August 20, 2023, 02:33:01 PM
I believe that you're already doing the best you could in educating people about Bitcoin. By creating good videos for YouTube, and answering specific questions that people might have Bitcoin, you're already doing well. Twitter thread is also plus. Then you can also speak to your friends about Bitcoin, and help guide them through it to understand fully what it's all about. Another way can be by writing blogs.
These are good general ways to introduce Bitcoin and educate as well. These ways are not too pressing, meaning OP is not pushing people to know Bitcoin, but he/she is marketing to people who are either already know what Bitcoin is and who might want to know by just putting his/her video and tweets out there. See, the biggest mistake most people do when they try to spread knowledge about something is forcing people to be interested to something, instead of doing that it is better to cater to those who are already aware of it and who have an existing interest so they are more open-minded and understanding as you teach.
1434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Instead of Gold? on: August 20, 2023, 01:51:21 PM
Mostly because of the law. There is a law (at least in my country and I know others as well) that states that an individual can only have limited gold. There is a specific percentage or number wherein you have to follow if you don't want to get in trouble with the law. Also, I side with both. I invest in both because they make good profit and are good investments, only thing is I have to have limitations for gold and so the excess for that goes to Bitcoin.

1436  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: August 20, 2023, 12:45:01 PM
You like to get profits in short period of time, which is not the easy task. Most of the people will spend huge time to buy the particular coin, because they investing their valuable money.Only the good project will give you returns, the scam or fake project will take your money gradually and finally your holding will become a zero value. Many people hold their money in the valuable coin, they need to wait for the profit from such coin.Patience is the key needed for the good profit from your holding money.

Putting a business and making profit from it will take time. You need to undergo a trial and error first to apply specific strategies to make your business grow. There's no shortcut to successful business as you still need to consider lots of things to ensure that your business will work in an specific location, target consumers and people's demand.
If you want to have an assurance of making profit from your business, you need to polish everything first but that doesn't mean that you will not experience hardships and challenges. There's no instant success in building a business as competitions are everywhere but if you put hardwork and dedication, things will surely work.
As OP thinks, business is not an easy thing to bring revenue once after the launch. When it is your own effort it takes more time to establish the business and turn it to be successful. Not many have the patience to enjoy the goodness of business. When it comes to business it is not like the eight hours job, the input we give will bring us the profit.

For now to have assured profit soon after the launch is through franchise. You could go for a leading brand's franchise with huge investment and the location should be good enough to attract people. This could bring assured profit. Apart from this every business takes time to profit the owner.
That is of course for big businesses. However, seeing as OP wants to ensure that there is profit in the next few days, it is still difficult. Agree to disagree but the capital that you need to invest for the franchise (especially for a big named business) will take months for you to recover and make a profit. If OP wants easy and quick profit then a small business that requires small capital but has a big target customers/clients will do better.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 20, 2023, 12:24:24 PM
I believe the most recent ranking from BoxRec should be taken into consideration. Currently, John Riel Casimero holds the top position, with Marlon Tapales following in second place. This situation indicates that Inoue has a significant challenge ahead – facing Casimero – to demonstrate that he truly deserves the title of the best, rather than just relying on his record and not giving what the fans what they want to see.

https://boxrec.com/en/ratings?country=PH&division=Super%20Bantamweight&offset=0&role=box-pro&sex=M

This is already a locked bout so I guess it's too late to hope for a Casimero - Inoue any time soon. Tapales is an OK fighter, but may receive a beating from the Japanese boxer known for his speed and powerful lefts. Also, BoxRec isn't an 'official' organization that boxing orgs should reference to.  There's just a lot of possible angles that both camps can use in order to set the fight or avoid it.
1438  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 20, 2023, 11:05:32 AM
I believe what you said here is one of the many ways to prevent the temptation of selling Bitcoin or find a way to lock the BTC for sometime before it can be accessible or else in the state of bad economical situations as stated by the OP I don't think there's another way to avoid the temptation of not selling.
The temptation to sell Bitcoin can indeed always be present in the lives of people who have Bitcoin, but for those who don't have Bitcoin, I don't think they will be tempted by anything because maybe there is nothing they can sell to satisfy their lust. But as long as we can hold it because there is a source of income from other jobs that can be used to buy things that make us tempted by it, I think there will be no problem with continuing to hold Bitcoin because we already have one way to be able to keep Bitcoin in the best way maybe in storage.
The best way I see to avoid the temptation of selling Bitcoin holding during emergency or economic condition is to have vast means of earnings or lock their holding away for some time and the same thing goes for people who are not into BTC they always look for something they can sell or exchange for deal through the pawnbroker.

that is why it is always advisable to diversify your portfolio, not only with cryptocurrencies but with other tangible assets as well. because if one is not doing good in the market, you can opt to use the other asset.
however, you can only lock your holdings if you are very sure that you won't need them in any way. because unforeseen circumstances will give you the reason to pull off some of your assets or else, you will be in deep debt owed to high interest from lenders.

I agree. Locking your holdings is not as advisable as having our means of income. It may even cause problems, especially during unforeseen situations like accidents or emergencies wherein you need immediate money. Having other means of earning, like other investments and businesses, on the other hand, assures an individual that he/she have a source of money for different things and even unexpected situations.
1439  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 20, 2023, 01:53:02 AM
I think all three mentioned here have their advantages and disadvantages,  take for example cryptocurrencies...crypto is a high risk high reward asset as its been for years,  but unfortunately of late ROI is too low and takes time for one to yield a decent profit if strategy is based on hodling, which very few of us have the patience for  Roll Eyes

As of the other two (Real estate or Business),  let's just say Real estate here would win of we are talking in the lines of stable income if it were a rental property,  but unfortunately this one takes a long time to recoup your invested capital unless you built in a prime location where rentals are super high.

And for the last proposal which is a Business,  this one is seasonal as far as I know and the scary part of running a business is that you are exposed to so many taxes which can be very frustrating  and running a business comes with other challenges like competition,  spoilage,  theft, government policies,  obsolete etc

With the above reasons given, I think Real estate will win this race for one's peace, better mental health and ultimately  happy life.

Real estate of course is better, that is true. However, you forgot about the high capital needed for real estate investment. Most of the time, if you intend to have a good start in this type of investment you will have to have a high capital. Moreover, the land's location is very important as this is one of the most vital factors that investors or buyers look into before buying a property. Hence, I wouldn't say it is less stressful than the other two, unless of course you hire real estate agents to do the work for you.
1440  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: August 20, 2023, 01:33:16 AM
Transportation plays big role in the economy of any country. In grown countries the delivery is moving to jet pack whereas the growing countries are little behind. Fatser the transportation, faster will be the production and the same could help with more employment opportunities. This is where transportation plays major role, apart from this nowadays work from home is found around the world. For this reason transportation isn't much important in employees movement rather than the physical working category. From the home itself employees were able to connect to the colleagues and make decisions and work on it.
I agree, it makes everything go faster and hence the result comes faster as well. The faster something is, the faster the flow of money goes. However, more than the traveling sector of transportation, the flow of delivery becomes faster for any industry that relies on it. For example, food deliveries, parcel deliveries, and even services on-call.
