Nothing has really happened. My understanding is the Devs in general are late with updates, mainly because they have other real life concerns and are seemingly working on this project for free at the moment. So v 1.4 being late isn't a concern to me at all, especially since the main dev has explained his week long absence on the Discord channel.
The price drop seems to be in large part because of the above linked forum post calling XSpec a scam, and then using only a few lines of code to prove their point. What bothers me most is that while the code may be simpler than we expected, the devs aren't making off with millions of dollars of investors funds. THIS IS NOT A SCAM! It may not be the privacy changing coin we all expected, but to call it a "scam" is idiotic. A poor project would be much better English than calling it a scam, although I think the project is fine.
Personally I don't mind the FUD because I've been able to quadruple my XSpec holdings this weekend alone. The project is fine--stop letting price changes over short periods change your opinions. (Or keep panic selling to me, that's fine too!)
they are not working for free...they get about 6000 euros a month in donations. And they are supposedly working full time, but the github commits from last year doesn't reflect that. Yes there sooo many commits but if you look a bit into them other the the tor integration there is absolutely nothing! And even the tor integration has the firefox binaries just copied over. It's not a native one like advertised. So what have they been doing with all this time? Jesus, do you realize what two full time devs can accomplish in 1 year? Doesn't change the fact that. Xspec is still here! It's not going away. And it's one of the best low priced privacy coins on the market. |

It's just plain wrong to call XSPEC a scam. This is a serious project but we have had to pull through a lot of criticism and FUD to get to where we are. We have a very strong community and everyone knows that this is a major part of driving the project forward. The team is working on the next release and it will be out. I believe the best way to answer all the FUD is not to be drawn into discussion but to keep releasing the software and make it count.
Hey mandica, welcome back on the scene!  I'm not going to oppose any of the FUD because I like it. I hope the price will go down to 30 cents again so I can buy another 100k.  Remember guys, blockchains don't die with the developers. All of this FUD is about Jbg, but that is missing the point completely. He's just our core developer at the moment (and personally I don't think that he's been doing a bad job so far), but that doesn't mean that there won't be any additional devs in the future. Think long-term, we will together make this project succeed eventually.  If you invest in a blockchain, you should invest into the project core and the people holding a stake in it, who are interested in making it succeed. Hear! Hear! I totally agree. Most who are committed to Xspec did some kind of research before hand. Despite the current criticisms we appreciate jbg's input and presence so long as he remains. We also know that Xspec is a great project and the future of any great project relies as much on its community as it does on the Dev. Those who are shaken out by current "news" and "revelations" didn't really do their due diligence before they came on board, or they invested more than they could afford to invest. I think they need to be shaken out for their own peace of mind. But some of us see the crazy potential in Xspec. Xspec is here to stay kiddo. Sorry to disappoint the naysayers. |

Yes I have read the thread. It looks legit. That is the negativity I meant. Look, Xspec and Xmr have almost the same circulation and there is a reason now why Xspec is $1, not $5, not $350. If the developer pulls an exit scam it is worth $0 If he is just a poser who promised too much initially, but works it out later on, there is a massive opportunity. Do you think jbg is a criminal? That it the question you need to answer.  Fair call mate. I'm no lawyer so that question isn't one I could answer with pure confidence, we're talking open source projects being forked here, minimal work being done and false hope being pushed, how would it look in court if an investor told people he was working full time on a project but we had only about a days worth of work on the project visible after a year? probably not so good... Even worse if he put more effort in to a "donate the developer coins" system. People have his real name, so I would be very interested to know if he's broken laws if this coin shorts, if some one else can answer this question please do. This is also a worry: XSpec $0.825178 USD (-29.18%) 0.00007215 BTC (-32.89%) Much the same happened yesterday too (in my time zone any way) Down in to the 7000 sat zone, back up to the 9000s, now back down to the 7000s again, looks like a slow dump to me. Well, well, well. Look at all the drama unfolding in this thread. Bottom line: Xspec has a Core loyal and commited following. This Core following is happy to have jbg on board. And I think we realise that jbg doesn't have to be perfect to make this gig work but we appreciate his presence and consistency since he has been part of the project. We still are very happy with the project that is Xspec. And we are convinced it is going to go a long way. Some "hands" have already been shaken out: If there are doubters left amongst Xspec holders, am sure the chance is still here for them to make an exit too. Due diligence and investing only what you can afford to loose are amazing things. They make mighty strong hands out of anyone and impart the freedom to actually be committed to a project. Peace! Sorry I haven’t yet done full research on this project but can someone talk about how they are going to fund the launch of satellites?
Xcuse me if this is naive, but I thought satellite launches needed the resources and infrastructure of at least a small country.

Hello good peoples. I would like as many people to comment on how world governments regulations will impact the future of privacy coins.
Am loosing my enthusiasm for investing in privacy coins because I think governments regulation will be very harsh on them. Any comments to make me feel better? Hell any objective we'll thought out opinions will do.

After you done that, you will see the foundation of this project (and believe me it is a strong foundation). Then and only then, will you be back. |
