341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: buy bitcoins with prepaid visa/debit cards? on: October 11, 2011, 09:43:53 PM
The best place to watch for that is the wiki:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade

GetBitcoin says they'll take prepaid cards but they are currently down - I don't know how reputable they are either...

Ok, so how does the jackpot work?  The site says
Quote
The jackpot will be paid to the depositor burden.
so does that mean that it just gets used to payoff all those that haven't been paid?  I had thought that the last depositor wins the jackpot - is that not so?

Not sure where on the site it says that? On the rules it says "The jackpot will be paid to the last depositor." So basically you are correct Smiley. Only that one deposit gets the entire jackpot.

Oh I see where I went wrong lol - I was looking at it through google translate:
http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=af&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=bitponzi.net
corporate filters ftw. Smiley

I've used it before for a smallish exchange and it seemed to work ok.  I just thought that some of their instructions were a little confusing but the guy who runs it is responsive and helpful.
345  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ATTENTION MINERS: Rig Builders Competition - 25 BTC IN PRIZES ! on: September 29, 2011, 10:45:36 PM
Is it one entry per rig per person or can I submit all of my rigs separately or all at once?

You will start to see a lot of merchants with this:

I'm a Bitcoin fetishist, and even I wouldn't bother to use Bitcoin at a physical POS like this. What's the advantage over using a legacy currency?

Because you don't need to have the legacy currency.  Say you fly to a foreign country.  Would be nice to be able to pay with bitcoins rather than exchanging for local currency or using your credit card and getting charged a nasty exchange fee.

afterburner should be able to raise core more (and you probably want to drop memory to the 300s).  I haven't used afterburner but I know others are able to do much higher clock speeds with it.
