I wonder why they have silkscreen and mounting holes for TWO 6 pin power connectors on each module?
It could be a trivial PCB routing issue.
The blue cables in the case pictures could be Y cables.

I hope it somehow means twice the Gh/s per module but I am not getting my hopes up.

...Or maybe those things are eating more power than they estimated? Giving the same hashrate that people ordered, though. I think splitting the current on two cables is always better than using single cable - in any case.

A unit in China? On the 29th? Where are these being produced again? Millions of components were arriving in Sweden a few days ago, and I was under the impression that was where they were being assembled?

So, either a rig is going half way round the world by 29th...or all rigs are doing the reverse?
The first option seems most likely so that means a finished rig by tomorrow evening to get there for that demo. They'll lose half a day in transit due to timezones.

Someone could be posting pics late tomorrow..which may explain Bitcoinorama vanishing?

Soon we all start seeing this... A lot of talk, nothing real.
Maybe KNC themselves haven't even seen the chip and earliest shipped orders will be late October or November.

Seriously, which ASIC vendor didn't have any problems that caused delays?

And KNC is the magic Duck that goes and does no mistakes?
1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 26, 2013, 04:18:51 PM
So... Where is 'orama? Only one post today? Smells fishy Smiley

1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] The First Official Ripple Fork Development - NetPay (Join the development) on: September 26, 2013, 04:08:45 PM
I'm sorry, Google, Facebook and Yahoo must be obscure! So is bittorrent! Yet I don't have to pay tokens to Google something..

The simple fact is that there is very very little cost in Ripple transactions. XRPs were introduced for business reasons.

Hey... For Google and Facebook and Yahoo you are the product. They don't need to charge their product to work for them, wut?

Please read Satoshis whitepaper about Bitcoin to understand why there is a fee system built in Bitcoin - and in Ripple, too!

Suggestion: Delete this thread and drop the idea. It's useless and only makes bitcointalk look even more like a joke. It was bad enough to snap the ripplelab-domains and start trying to sell them.

Want a little more info about my suggestion?
... Sure but first tell me how you would distribute the stamps used to make spamming the network harder/expensive. Actually there's one alternative way - that is to give people these stamps depending on their bitcoin stashes - but that's not very good after all.

Are you aware that network spamming was never a problem with the classic ripple pay?

Do you understand that the network would be spammed without some kind of fees to pay?

I notice that either Anduck fraudlently made up that punin quote, or punin EDITED his post.

I have asked him again what amount of hardware was originally advertised for 400Gh.

We will see if he responds. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250249.msg3218725#msg3218725

Well - We all know what was originally advertised as 400gh unit hardware. The actual delivered hardware changed for August orders. Read this thread and look for the posts that suggest the bet outcome was determined correctly. You can't say unit must be 1 m-board + 16 h-boards.. the bet said 25gh unit and 400gh unit, if unit = 1 m-board + 16 h-boards, what is 25gh unit? This means you can't define unit by the hardware.

The quote is real - and indeed, the post has been edited by its' author. You saw the original post though so... don't even bring up the possibility of faking a quote, please. Also note that you quoted it first, lol.

Now updated with Japanese Yen! Also made a little fixes to the design.

I plan to go to the bitcoin conference in Amsterdam between the 25-29th what is the chance that KNCMINER will ship while I am gone? Tongue
//DeaDTerra

I'll say 0.05%. It's highly unlikely IMO.

1213  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitBet incorrectly declares yes to a no bet. Stay Away from BitBet!! on: September 22, 2013, 07:48:09 PM

We are aiming at 16 H-cards + 1-Mboard + RasPi, but this varies depending on the hash-rate we get from the cards. Some august units consisted of 2 M-boards to fulfill the promised 400GH performance per unit.

This proves that the bet was incorrectly passed and should have been a NO.

He admits that one UNIT (as advertised) is 16 H-cards + 1-Mboard + RasPi.

See how he says they had to ship extra hardware because they missed performance specs?

The bet is a no.  The hardware didn't perform as advertised.

Huh

Well.. You guys must realize that it would be very easy and untraceable thing as dooglus to steal from investors. He knows the seed and can act as players and steal thousands, hundreds or tens of bitcoins - and nobody will ever know!
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 22, 2013, 12:29:22 PM
Next week Bitfury will start to ship october kits.

I didnt see a picture of a single hashing knc unit, but yet some people who ordered knc are demanding pictures of bitfury units?

Boy, I am glad so much people ordered knc. Cheesy

Only because they are already meant to be out in the wild, and I hadn't seen any myself showing hashing power and power consumption for his chip, yet heard a range of numbers for both variables. That said KnC wants to be showing hashing units soon, as promised.
Will be any proof of the chips working before they start shipping? I don't remember and I hate to search this sorry...

Of course - against people's wallets, again as promised, and I dare say a video, as it's really not hard to upload one!

What for do you require a video? Let's derail this thread, here's a pic of my unit, received in August. As you can see, it draws 0.79 W/GH from the wall. Actually when it ran for a while, power consumption dropped to ~51 watts and by some tuning I got over 69 ghash hashing power. Currently these 3 h-boards are mining for over 80 ghash due to overvolting.
1216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 20, 2013, 10:20:07 PM
I bought two starters, got them around the same time, but I've mined almost 16 coins.  I'm up to .52 BTC already today and it's still only 10:30 in the morning.  I should see another Slush and BTCG payout by the end of today, as well.

Quote from: -Redacted-
73 Gh/s.  I run a few Block erupters, too.

Lies. No way you can make up to 16 coins with 2 starter kits. I assume you're running 3x h-boards. I myself are running 3 h-boards, totaling to 75 ghash. I received my boards in the very early days of shipments (days before you did) and I've not even made 10 btc yet.
1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 20, 2013, 02:34:39 PM
Every other ASIC has been late and the reputation of the company destroyed.

Wrong. Check this link:
http://bitbet.us/bet/520/bitfury-eu-august-orders-will-ship-before-1st/

Bitfury shipped in time!
1218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 20, 2013, 02:03:51 PM
No no, you don't understand, when you are in a formula one race, every penny counts, so damn right you want to slow way the fuck down to keep your tires from wearing out because tires cost money plus changing them takes time...  Roll Eyes  Tongue

-MarkM-

You might end up having to stop the whole race because you didn't change the tires and one of them boomed away? Some stuff - that also takes some of the precious time - are still needed parts of the production of these things. They must do proper testing or they might end up with 100% of the units failing.. for some silly thing that is easily fixable but it will eat a lot more time than if they tested it in the first hand.
Who really thinks it's good if they ship everything they get without any testing? Would you like to receive unit that hasn't been tested and not only isn't working but also breaks your PSU?

And it's not about the design failures.. There's always differences in the actual chip and the designed chip. Even if you're super pro (and we somehow assume OrSoC is in that category?).. it still happens.

ignored, asshat!

w2go LOL.

I didn't even say a word against KNC and these silly fanboys still start their play.
I should've listened to the guys who said BCT is these days filled with these kind of people, people who bring no value to the community.

FWIW, I think KNC will deliver but it'll be late.

Anduck,

The reaction you're receiving here is due to your question about anyone seeing a "working chip". Had you spent a few minutes reading KnC's website or this thread, you'd know that there will not be a working chip shown until they're ready to ship the finalized unit to customers (~12 days from now). Furthermore, you're probably the 20th person to ask that question in recent history. I think the participants of this thread are simply tired of the lack of effort put into research.

To make things worse, people like to use the "working chips" question as a way to troll everyone else. You may not have intended to act like a troll, but that's how others will perceive you.

They will need to have atleast few chips to test the chip itself. They must get a lot data from the actual chip - how can they ship a product to end-user that includes a chip that has only been simulated?
If they don't have chips to test yet, they will be late. Just like Bitfurys chip differed from the simulations kinda lot. Same with BFL. How would it be different with KNC? Really?
