1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 03, 2014, 08:31:13 PM
for all you people new to bitcoin mining, it all evens out over time.

is mining for bitcoin still profitable? I stopped mining with my 1 th rig about 3 months ago because it was costing me more to run than i was making.

WTF? Diff Increase 30%?
some more such increases and i have to sell my S1 Antminers Sad
damn electricity prices.

dude! haven't you seen what is still to be delivered? network hash rate will probably double by the end of summer.

I retired 18 Erupter Blades a few weeks ago and my S1's will no longer be profitable soon as well. The blades were running since September of last year and did well, the S1's covered their cost and just a little over. It makes me wonder how the guys who spent >$2,000 on terrahash units will be doing in a couple of months, do you think they'll manage to recover 50% of cost before they are fully depreciated?

Are you looking to sell any of them? Electricity doesn't cost me a thing so I might be interested.

I'm looking to sell my 2 s1 units and my 760GH asic mining rig

Yup. Mine dropped aswell
5  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: June 15, 2014, 02:13:03 AM
it takes months to achieve 0.01 BTC

hope you got free electricity
Nope, just block erupters.  Grin

They don't do much anymore, but paired with a Raspberry Pi don't take more than ~12W for 2.2GH/s.

Damn. That's a lot electricity for only 2.2gh/s
6  Bitcoin / Mining / dragon asic miner not connecting to internet on: June 10, 2014, 03:23:25 AM
Hi. I have a dragon asic miner that turns on and shows the IP address on the LCD screen but recently stopped mining. I assume that its because it doesn't want to connect to the internet anymore. My stats doesnt show the hash rate anymore. Any idea how to troubleshoot it. Maybe the raspberry pie went bad? Thanks.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / antminer s1 watts on: June 09, 2014, 04:17:04 AM
How many watts does an antminer s1 really use? Is it more or less than the 360w bitmain claims?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / wallet backup on: June 09, 2014, 03:52:09 AM
Should I be backing up my wallet everytime I get a payout, or is backing up my wallet only once enough. What I mean is, if I where to lose my phone and then restore my wallet, would it restore the last balance I backed up or the last balance I had before I lost my phone? Thanks.

I set up my miner and filled in the pool info but when I connect the miner to my router, it doesn't show that its mining when I look at my account online

First try the in-depth guide posted here...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.0

and follow the directions posted by unacceptable up there /\ so people can get a clearer idea of how to help  Wink

Have you googled instructions or checked out you-tube?
Once you get going the set-up shouldn't take more than 20 mins

My browser won't connect to my miner. The browser says it couldn't find the IP address I typed

You have to be in the same IP range. I gave you easy, step by step directions.

I followed them and when I typed the IP address it says. Oops Google chrome could not find 192.168.1.99

Did you change your adapter to 192.168.1.xx?
should i be able to connect to the internet simply by having the miner connected to my pc?

Sushi and Dogie have been a big help too.

Don't forget to change the ip on your Ants (at least on the first one ;-)

How do I do that. Please help. I've been going crazy all day trying to get these miners online. Please.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: setting up antminer s1 on: May 30, 2014, 08:59:53 PM
How are you connecting your miners and computer?  Is your computer on the same network and connected to the internet or directly to the miner?
both my computer and the miners are connected directly to my cable modem/router and when I type in the IP address for the miner, I get a message saying it couldn't find that address
17  Bitcoin / Mining / setting up antminer s1 on: May 30, 2014, 08:06:15 PM

18  Bitcoin / Mining support / my antminer s1 not turning on on: May 30, 2014, 06:03:16 AM
Is setting up my s1 as simple as connecting both pci-e cables to it and flipping the switch? I have 2 connected and as soon as I hit the switch, only one fan starts spinning but then stops. The other fan won't start at all  And both miners are flashing green and red.
19  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: how can I power my antminer s1 on: May 29, 2014, 05:52:49 PM
I am also short on one PSU and found two really cheep older free market bought PSUs and I power
each blade separetly.Runs fine althoght not the ideal but can be done
(not overclocked)

I was wondering about that too. Can I use 2 PSU to power each blade in the s2? And why do you say its not ideal? Thanks
20  Bitcoin / Mining support / how can I power my antminer s1 on: May 29, 2014, 04:18:47 AM
I got 2 antminer s1 in the mail today but am still waiting for my PSU. Can I use the psu in my other mining rig that has free connectors. The reason i ask is because the PSU in my mining rig is also powering the raspberry pi and motherboard that's running the rig. I know I have plenty of extra power in that PSU to run the 360w S1. Thanks
