Yes we have the very first expected DECREASE in difficulty coming up soon. While it is likely to be small, it is a big change from the monster increases we were seeing a few months ago.
If you miss seeing massive increases in difficulty look at the scrypt coins, they are really feeling the pain now that massive amounts of new, more efficient, scrypt ASICs are being brought on line.

It's not the first.  It happened many times in late 2011/2012.

EDIT:  It actually happened 8 consecutive times near the end of 2011.

It appears we may not get a decrease at all this time around, good news is that the increase won't be to large.

It would've, have I not switched off my asics for couple of hours during the night Undecided, so I lost half of the reward for the 1day block and all for the next 3block 15min. wonders  Cry Cry

That's why I stopped hashing on Slush. I went for about 24 hours with no blocks and had an issue where had to switch off rig for a couple of hours. After 1.5 hours you lose everything. Got some blocks but I got nada. Went for something with more stable payout algo.

Hi everyone,

I've currently got ~3.5Th all running on Slush, by the end of the week it will be ~6.5Th  Smiley

What are the pros/cons on splitting between Slush and another pool, or all on Slush?

Obviously there's the payout if either Slush or 'x' pool find a block, against a larger payout if it's all on Slush.  Anything else to consider?

Thanks,

Ian

Ian

Been with slushi for ages, however my two previous posts sum up the worst aspects of the slush payout system :/

Am I being over-exhuberant here? Block 23189 confirmed a while ago but not ben paid yet .... and neither has it been added to the confirmed total on the Dashboard screen. That is the 1 day block!

Check again now.
We need 101 blocks to have it confirmed, which may take from 10h to 20h

Edit: on average it takes 16:50h, but min and max depends on network's luck

I don't think we are talking about the same thing here.
Block 23189 confirmed a while ago, but it has (up to now) not been paid and does not appear on the dashboard as confirmed. in the meantime, block 23190 confirmed too and this appears in the confirmed total on the dashboard.
Actually, I think this is the wrong forum, I'll raise a ticket with the pool.

In the old GUI it is confirmed and paid. You mean the 1 day 1h 46 min block, right?

Have been mining with Slush for a while now. I found that it was best when I "set it and forget it." I just made sure to check my hashrate twice a day to make sure none of the miners had any issues going on. Otherwise, I treated this like my retirement account -- let it ride! We are in this for the long haul. Am I right?  Wink
