1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mine with both AMD and Nvidia cards in same system? on: January 25, 2015, 10:17:29 PM
Is it possible to run both nvidia and amd cards in the same system and mine with both at the same time or use one for mining and the other for gaming and regular tasks ?

If so, how do you do it.

Thanks
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin, Feathercoin or Other? on: January 18, 2015, 09:32:16 PM
I was mining the hell out of Feathercoin about a month ago, but the price has gone down to where it's not nearly as profitable as before. Now I'm speculating by mining newer coins.

as a miner, you might find BURST interesting with POC (proof of capacity).

Does seem interesting; mining with your Hard Drive. Might try it out.

Thank you for letting me know about it.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Most Profitable X11 Multipool? on: January 17, 2015, 10:06:10 AM
Do you want to get the mined coins or using autoconversion to BTC?

Yaamp is a autoconversion multipool. Ipominer pays the coins you mined. Not sure about the prof., but maybe you want to have a look at them.

Additionally have a look at http://poolpicker.eu/table for detailed figures

Thank you.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Most Profitable X11 Multipool? on: January 16, 2015, 09:58:40 PM
Hello,
What do you find the most profitable X11 multipool to be?

I have recently been using multipool.us and coinking.io, however, some people have reported problems with coinking.io, therefore I decided to go back to multipool.us.

I was wondering if there were any X11 multipool that were better and more profitable.

Thank you.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Use two different Workers to Mine on a same GPU on: January 16, 2015, 09:55:03 PM
shortcut on desktop and just add the second pool like you did with the first one, plus --"balance" or "--rotate x"(where x is time in minute)

example

--balance -o ip:port -p 1 -u x.1 -o 1p2:port -p 2 -u x.1

or

--rotate 2 -o ip:port -p 1 -u x.1 -o 1p2:port -p 2 -u x.1

rotate 2 it mean that for the first pool he mine for two minute than he shift to the second one for two minute and then repeat

Thank you very much.

Would you suggest I use balance or rotate for my mining to be more efficient?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Use two different Workers to Mine on a same GPU on: January 16, 2015, 07:21:39 PM
Hello, how should my .bat file look like if I want to use have two workers from the same pool mine on one GPU?

I am using Coinking.io as a pool therefore I would like a worker to mine on the Multipool and the other a specific coin.

Thank you in advance.

hehe. The girino miner has a 2% fee. Here is the binaries from the author:

http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/2o1yoz/rewritten_x11_binaries/

GAH!

I can't get those binaries to work. I replace the .bin and SGMiner just closes after the * Using Jansson 2.7 screen.

Download it from here and it should work: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=616786.0

So basically 2% of what I mine is given to the author? Smart way to get cryptocurrencies. Free efficient miner+2%+lots of miner=lots of hashrate.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 280x Hashrate for Different Algorithms on: January 15, 2015, 07:47:56 PM
with the wolf0 binaries.

x11: 6,5MHASH
x13: 4MHASH (a 5MHASH bin exists somewhere on the net)
x15: 4MHASH
How in gods name do you get 6.5 with X11?!

My R9 280x just reaches 3.9... Any chance you could share your config file?

I get 6.5 Mh/s with this bat file:

Code:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:11111 -u PabiGamito.1 -p x -I 17 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 10 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 128 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1250 --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80

And with this miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=616786.0
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Darkcoin, Feathercoin or Other? on: January 15, 2015, 07:45:58 PM
What do you think is best to currenctly mine.

Darkcoin, Feathercoin or another coin.

Or maybe half half?

Pleaes let me know what you think and what you are mining yourself.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Coin to Mine with a GPU on: January 14, 2015, 07:55:04 PM
Spreadcoin is highly profitable on GPU's because it excludes pools and has a unique algorithm: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=715435.0

But where can I trade them? I don't seem to find any exchanges that let me trade them into anything so that I can later continue trading on Cryptsy.

EDIT: Nevermind, it trades on Bittrex: https://www.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-SPR
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to make your PC use less Energy While Mining. on: January 13, 2015, 09:12:24 PM
Hello,

I was wondering if you guys know of a way to make mining use less electricity, but be back to regular when not mining so my PC isn't laggy while preforming regular task on it or even game.

Thank you.

What miner are you (planning on) using?

Using sgminer v5 to mine X11. These are my current settings:
Code:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:11111 -u PabiGamito.1 -p x -I 17 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 5 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 128 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1250 --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU Powertune Set to 5 too Low? on: January 13, 2015, 09:11:08 PM
Hello,

I am currently mining darkcoins with my GPU powertune set to 5, is that too low? It does make my GPU temps lower right? Are there any disadvantages to it? I am not getting a decrease in hashrates...

Thank you in advance for letting me know.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / R9 280x Hashrate for Different Algorithms on: January 13, 2015, 09:00:47 PM
Hello,

I am trying to use http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/ to find the most profitable coin, but I order to do that I will have to know the best hashrates you can get with this GPU using various algorithms.

So if you know an R9 280x to mine and happen to know the hashrate for a specific algorithm, please post it below.

Thank you very much.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Config for Mining X11 with R9 280x on: January 13, 2015, 06:03:42 PM
This is what I have gotten to:

Code:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:11111 -u PabiGamito.1 -p x -I 17 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 20 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 128 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1250 --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80

Any suggestions for higher hashes or less power consumption?

I greatly appreciate your help.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Config for Mining X11 with R9 280x on: January 13, 2015, 04:24:32 PM
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 & set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60

Makes no difference to my hashrate. But set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60 does make my GPU cooler.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best Config for Mining X11 with R9 280x on: January 13, 2015, 04:05:13 PM
Hello,

This is my current bat file to start the miner:

Code:
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=60

sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://eu.multipool.us:11111 -u PabiGamito.1 -p x -I 18 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 128 --gpu-engine 1033 --gpu-memclock 1500 --auto-fan --temp-target 72 --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80

What would you suggest I add to the config or chage to get the bes harshrates for my GPU.

Thank you.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Constant High GPU Temps Bad? on: January 12, 2015, 10:36:02 PM
I have the NZXT Phantom case. So should I consider buying a side fan that would blow right on the GPU as well as am adittional top fan?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Constant High GPU Temps Bad? on: January 12, 2015, 10:22:15 PM

You could try adding additional fans to your system to lower the load on the GPU funs, then they could run at slower speeds. You should just make sure your VRM temperatures are in check too - some GPUs have sensors for the VRMs and their temperatures will show up in GPU-z. I'd try and keep VRM temps below 80C.

You could also try downvolting your card - that way it would take less power, and the fans could run slower too.

How about Watercooling my GPU?

Watercooling can still go to dangerous temperatures. Keep this in mind.

What would you consider to be a dangerous temperature?
