Why the new thread?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Airdrop] Nevra (XEV) - Equality, Freedom, Trust on: March 03, 2018, 02:36:03 AM

1) We're still actively looking for 1 more blockchain dev, we've spoke to many, but we're looking for committed devs with some background experience at this point.

What are your requirements for a blockchain dev? Do you want someone who can create a whole new type of blockchain, or someone who can do the genesis block for an existing type of blockchain?

Are you going to be using NEMs blockchain design, or are you considering other designs? It's difficult to switch designs after the genesis block. Each time NXT made blockchain design enhancements it caused problems for users.

The writing style does not seem like Tera..... I suppose that the account may have been sold?    She can report that, and maybe admins will freeze usage account?  but if they have no way of verifying who is the real Tera, then they might let it keep operating with the new owner... then we might get a publicly displayed battle between Tera and Tera2, perhaps?
Perhaps some DT members would flag the Tera account if admins won't recover it.

There's no negative feedback at all left for it. I expected at least tera's new account would have left some feedback to say it's a hacked account.

I don't know if moderators can edit (rather than delete) posts, but it would be nice to go through all of jbreher's contributions - some of which raise valid points and contain factually correct, useful information - and

s/Bitcoin Segwit/Bitcoin/g
s/Bitcoin Cash/BCash/g

with a FTFY note in the end, for correctness and clarity.

No sorry the mods can't do that. I remember serious legal threats on another forum when a mod actually altered someone else's post.
I suspected it would be impossible.
We could insta-quote jbreher, then, for posterity and historical documentation.
The necessary edits could be carried out in the quote by us - simple posters, not the moderator.
The moderators could simple come in for a little cleanup after that - which would not be censorship, since the post would have already been quoted... O:-)

Maybe nasty, OK. But this is supposed to be a bitcoin forum after all. That sneaky language is a bit sickening.

I'm not certain it's illegal, but the reddit CEO made international headlines for doing it.

The TERA account is definitely not the real Tera now.  They can barely speak English. Real Tera was quite articulate.

I doubt the real Tera would be posting in the booby coin thread like in this October post from the TERA account.

Well, it sounds pretty funny. Although it is clear that no one needs such currency. Although boobs are needed by everyone. This is a dilemma ...

Huge sell walls up to $11100 on bitstamp but its being bought into at a steady pace. 1800btc atmo

Remember the bear whale's wall on bearstamp? Suppressing the price with walls doesn't always work.

Have you contacted any exchanges about paying Litecoin Cash for the Litecoins held in their customer's wallets?
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 05, 2018, 03:21:55 AM
So my best guess is, weak hands afraid to lose more than they already have

Also Wall St. is crashing us on purpose, Undecided

Sounds kinda weird to me. The fire power needed for such a crash... Plus, they would be selling at lost on purpose. That would be purely burning XX% of your money just to keep the other %. Unless they bought before the bull run but I doubt it. More like they caused the bullrun.

Maybe they bet long on the futures and bought, then put shorts on after the futures closed and stated dumping. They might be putting very low buy orders in and trying to crash the price enough to fill them. After they reload they can close their shorts at a profit, put longs on again and start pumping the price.

For every coin they dump there's probably ten more sold due to stop loss triggers and panic selling.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 03, 2018, 09:00:45 PM
wow litecoin is on fire its rising like anything perhaps some great news on it

It's up 15.57% against bitcoin in the last 24 hours. I didn't expect to see litecoins worth 0.017 BTC again this quickly. All the dumpers must be buying back in before the price goes up to 0.02 BTC.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 03, 2018, 08:53:13 PM
Going down again, just hovering above 9k
Yes, there isn't real signs of a consistent recovery.

I sniff either another dump or a bull trap on the track, before a recovery around 13k.

I sniff a long boring sideways until everyone stops posting because they're so bored.

Hi, I'm launching a new Exchange site, and I have added BBTC and all coins of blake ecosystem, because seem there is no exchange for BBTC and ELT.

c-patex.com

Please be careful. The site is still in Beta. Do not deposit/trade big amounts.  Cheesy

(I'm still working on few small bugs. If you receive a message of "account disabled" during sign up, just ignore it)

Cheers!

Thanks for adding BlakeBitcoin. Will it remain listed after your exchange is out of beta?

How will you select which coins to list? Will you accept payment to list coins, or refuse it?

https://twitter.com/tetherprinter

This is bad.. I was really hoping they'd let an audit happen to prove their books were good.
As each day passes i really think they cooked their books using Tether.
Rather than mandating KYC maybe the govt should mandate audits on the exchanges.

The Chinese government tried doing that to its exchanges, so some of their exchanges moved abroad to avoid mandatory KYC. It's impossible to find out where half the exchanges are based, or who runs them anyway.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ESCO][NO ICO][MASTERNODES] ESCROW COIN- ESCROW CURRENCY FOR CRYPTOWORLD on: January 22, 2018, 04:40:41 AM
What makes you different from Descrow?

Descrow is in token stage doing ICO.

This is coin. There is difference between coin and token

We are not selling Tokens only. People can mine and stake this coin

Why is this coin any more suitable for doing escrow than any other coin? Does it have trustless smart contract capability built into it?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: January 22, 2018, 04:30:58 AM
Dear community.

Does litecoin has official block explorer where I can track all the transactions (with API)?

Google didnt helped me a lot. If no, what is a best option?

Yes, what I've found is https://chain.so/api

Quote
 $.get( "https://chain.so/api/v2/get_info/DOGE", function( response ) {
// success! use the data any way you like
     });

You just need to change it to
Quote
 $.get( "https://chain.so/api/v2/get_info/LTC", function( response ) {
// success! use the data any way you like
     });

There is also the litecoin.net explorer's API with everything API related documented on this page.

http://explorer.litecoin.net/q

This is the normal explorer page for humans.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin [VTC][ANN] Segwit Activated | ASIC Resistant Decentralized GPU Mining on: January 22, 2018, 04:23:07 AM
vertbase such a joke... no way US will ever grant them a license...

Could you elaborate more? Or could someone within the community comment further on this?

Is there really no chance for vertbase to happen? Because if it does i see it as a huge plus for vert but also a way of saying "hey we wont get on coinbase but here is an alternative".

If it does work it would be a huge plus for vrt long term

They aren't expecting to get a license for all 50 states immediately. They are trying for licenses one at a time. The less strict states could give licenses quickly, and the strict states will probably take much longer.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst weekly report! The future is bright! on: January 22, 2018, 04:05:44 AM
Looking at the market value of Burst in coinmarketcap.com, its in a pathetic market value of only $90,378,679. Thats under $100,000,000! This is a good display of either how inefficient this market is, or how inefficient the flow of information is.

It's probably partially because of bitcoin dropping in value since its ATH. Investors get scared when bitcoin drops. When it starts rising again they will buy back into burst (and take a haircut from selling low then buying high).
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GARLICOIN - Reddit's Garlic Bread Worshiping Currency on: January 22, 2018, 03:46:11 AM
I think that coin with so huge number of adepts should have success. How I can get this coin? Mining? Bounty? Exchanges? Please give us more information about ways of aquisition.

Why not start a trading thread in the marketplace board? There will soon be plenty of reddit users wanting t sell their airdropped coins. They won't all hodl.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=161.0

This is an example trading thread to give you an idea how they work.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If a Bank Bought XRP at $.15 and Uses it to Send $$ on Ripple Network... on: January 22, 2018, 03:35:42 AM
If banks adopted ripple they would probably start their own private ledger and run it themselves. It's unlikely they would use the same ripple network everyone else does. In that case they wouldn't care about transaction fees.

Ripple transaction fees are negligible. If banks decided to use the current ripple network to process thousands of transactions the cost in fees would be insignificant anyway. They wouldn't need huge quantities of ripple for fees, or care what they cost..
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying my coffee with cryptos! on: January 22, 2018, 03:25:31 AM
Letīs say I want to open a coffee shop where you can buy your coffee ONLY with cryptos.

Which coin would you use for this case?  I would choose XRB, because it is very fast and there are no fees!

Please tell me your suggestions.

Stellar Lumens! Faster than ripple and 0.1XLM transaction fee regardless of amount. Best coin for transaction imo. Also doge is quite good

How much faster than Ripple is Stellar Lumens? I thought they were both almost instant at transactions.
