Kind of sad watching almost every other coin moon and see IDNA barely holding USD value  Undecided

Oh well hold strong

I updated my Idena node to the new one, but now I cant seem to connect my client to the server node. I have never had this problem before in any earlier updating. Does anyone else have this issue?

No, I don't have any issue, all fine, I still mining using Client version: 0.22.2 and Node version: 0.25.2

and what node version did you mean?.

sometimes happens to me when restarting VPS, I just correct the time then it would be fixed. go to setting time > change date and time > internet time.

That worked. Thanks, I did not realize a tiny difference in time could cause connection failure.

I genuinely think that Idena is much better than 99% of the coins which are being discussed in this section of the forum. It has its own and unique consensus mechanism. It has more than 5000 unique humans/minters. It has one of the most active community (this topic is being bumped all the time) considering such a small market cap. What else new coin can brag with such things?

Unique consensus? Maybe unique approach of joining the mining/minting pool. But consensus is another thing.

I was under the impression that the oracle voting built into the wallet was a consensus protocol. What would you consider it then? Maybe you have not used recent versions? The proof of person to verify is something completely different...

I keep getting mining penalties on my vps. I am not really sure what is causing it. I keep it updated/upgraded and rebooted every 24. My ipfs is cleared. This last time it crashed within 8 hours of last reboot while I was sleeping. I think it must be on my end, I'm just not sure what is causing it.

If you run node on 1GB vps, low ram memory is causing it, minimum is 2GB now. Hetzner has good deals, 3e for vps with 1 core and 2GB ram.

https://www.hetzner.com/cloud

Does swap count? I have 4 GB of swap.... But, yeah I only have 1 GB of memory otherwise. I guess I can upgrade it the price is going up some so the profit margin is growing a bit. I expect it will go up more in future so it is worth it to upgrade, but I dont want to if i dont have to.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: GNEISS an ERC20 Token with much much to offer... on: February 12, 2021, 09:16:46 PM
I bought some of this before the change, years ago. Is there anything I can do with the tokens? I transferred them off the gneiss site long ago but I think the token got switched to a new one.

edit: also, I logged into site and still have some eth dust there but it will not let me withdraw.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: February 12, 2021, 12:57:52 PM
I think you are right as far as the long run is concerned but for now with crypto flying high and with Elon Musk tweeting pro-DOGE and pro-Bitcoin messages, people with buy in to it.

don't get caught bagholding this shit

In bull run people don't care about any kind of warning so that is useless to tell them what is going on into this coin. After a few months will see this sitting on the bottom level from where it get started.

A lot of the volume is coming from apps that do not even really hold the crypto. On Robinhood app the buys were backed up for days with people just speculating and day trading. AFAIK you cannot withdraw or deposit crypto to there so its just paper doges basically.

So I guess without the bots/fake account, the network may have shrunk over the last couple epochs. That is a little concerning, but I am glad we have figured out a fix now.
11  Economy / Invites & Accounts / WTS Runescape account that has a few discontinued items on: August 16, 2020, 02:08:48 PM
I want to sell my runescape(3?) account. I have entire Halloween mask set, a santa hat, easter egg, and a pumpkin in the bank. Im not sure about how much gp is in account, i dont think very much , but I check if anyone shows interest. It also has lvl 99 in a combat stat.

Im not sure anyone on here plays so I dont want to go through downloading, logging in for screens unless people are interested and know actual value of this type of account.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Bitcoin Supreme - Free Distribution - Bounties- Low Transaction Fees on: April 05, 2018, 02:08:50 PM
Quote
Distribution will be fair and simple. Everyone will be given coins for free through airdrops and bounties. You do not need to have BTC to receive BTCS, this way it will be easier to welcome new people into cryptocurrencies. There will be no ICO.

15% for team
25% for network stability (Will be kept in a wallet temporarily until network is fully stable, once stable, the coins will be rewarded to top 25% wallet holders)
30% for Airdrops
10% in bounties
20% for help with Marketing, PR, Development help, Moderators, etc.

This is actually a 35-60% pre-mine. Depending on whether the "network stability" coins are distributed to the "team members" which would obviously be the top wallet holders. That is ridiculous. I think you should rethink the distribution, if not this coin will be dead before it starts.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE on: April 05, 2018, 01:56:07 PM
so, do I understand it correctly: attacker keeps all his coins? 15.600.000+?

Yes ...

It is 'his' chain that is now the main chain,so all the coins created in that chain are the 'legit' ones.

VERY rich MF now!

#crysx

but ocminer said here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3256693.msg33973629#msg33973629 that coins could be removed. The devs just don't care?

The devs CARE that is why they are doing what they can to protect the network.

They cannot control everything though so to roll back a blockchain to before the attack and exclude the attackers blocks (which I think is what OCMiner was alluding to - and he is correct) ... if that is the case, well - they may as well rename the coin to ETH then!

What has been done, has been done. Only my opinion of course, which isn't worth a pinch of salt if the Verge dev decides otherwise.

#crysx

That is almost $1,000,000 worth. But I also see that in the ling range, it is less than 1% of market cap. It could go either way really. If they all get dumped it will definitely hurt things. But also rolling back may hurt things worse? Someone should be quick to release Verge Classic if a rollback happens.

ETH Asic Miner Released, Decentralized Mining in Jeopardy, Bitmain Likely Been Mining and Selling ETH for Months

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech/status/981169456411021312?s=19

Ethereum is supposed to be ASIC resistant, or at least ASICs shouldn't be able to mine ETH better than normal hardware. Bitmain is putting an ETH ASIC miner out anyway.
https://coincodex.com/article/1473/bitmain-introduces-ethereum-asic-miner-how-will-the-ethereum-community-respond/

I saw this also. It really makes me wonder what has been going on that we are unaware of. If they were mining with these for months it could very well be responsible for some of the huge value lost in that time. I hope that more info will be available soon about this.

I think they are pretty active on social media. I agree though, it would be much better if they were active here and gave us updates on how much sold, and other real time stats. There is not much time left, so I guess we will just see soon.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Sphere - Decentralized Social Networking >200,000 users on: April 04, 2018, 06:02:43 AM
There is only 5 days left for this ICO. The team really should be in this thread promoting and answering questions. But maybe it will be better for us investors if they dont. Less money in should mean more will be burnt, so out portions will be a larger chunk right?
less money in, means less fund for development and marketing, gone are the days where you make your token scars to increase value now we need a lot of investors to hold and trade a token to create volume in an exchange.

Oh ok thanks, I understand better now. Well in that case, I hope the team has plans for last minute promotions. It has been a while since I was involved in ICOs, but before a lot of times at the last minute, a bunch more money flowed in. I guess I will just hope for that.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Primalbase - Distributed Workspace for Tech Community on: April 02, 2018, 09:43:43 PM
To me, this project is one of the few successful real world projects so far. In 1-2 years, the demand for the token will increase so much. By the way, since the gateway released, the new question be like:

I agree that there is a lot of potential here, and possibly will be added to larger exchanges soon(even if the Primalbase account is not allowed to acknowledge this). But I do not see a chance of getting listed on poloniex anytime soon. Not because it does not "deserve" to be there, but because poloniex has not been adding any coins at all this year. It seems they just stopped listing new projects completely. Maybe Bittrex though, that would be good.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Primalbase - Distributed Workspace for Tech Community on: April 01, 2018, 06:50:00 AM
I am very pleased with the Ethereum gateway. I never was happy with the waves platform, and then after the online waves wallet said it was shutting down, I got a little worried. But now everything should be golden. I hope this opens doors for more exchanges, I guess we will see soon.

I have not done the switch yet, is it pretty easy and secure?

sidenote: Why does it say the Primalbase account has invested in 61 different coins?  Huh
