501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]✅✅✅ Introducing Verify - The Future of Reputation ✅✅✅ on: November 17, 2017, 07:50:37 AM
Hey there, with the ICO sales coming pretty soon, (I assume 29 Nov as you mentioned):
Nov 29th, 2pm UTC.

Why not add a countdown to your site or the date on the main thread, to make it clearer? May I know more about the company Verify Pte Ltd, as stated in section 6.2 of the Whitepaper shown below? I can't seem to find any details about it online so I wish to know more about the company.

As for the site, are there more screenshots and preview to how the site works and looks like? I am very interested in how it goes and would like to see if there are any updates whatsoever. Signed up for the newsletter and hope to hear more soon! Cheesy

I would like to take another shot at this. Smiley

As Bitcore aims to make Blockchain great again, especially now with the high fees and slower transaction, so here's one, to describe Bitcore. Wink

503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you distinguish ICOs? on: November 16, 2017, 02:42:29 AM
An active developer team is important, and you should check all of their profiles and credibility. Next, they should always try to respond to any doubts that you raise in their thread. Their site and design layout should be elegant, meaning they invest a bit in site building to attract their valuable customers.

The most important thing would be to read their whitepaper as all their information is their, find out their soft and hard cap. A good ICO would have good intentions and can contribute to the crypto world, if not the society and the world. Smiley

Take a look at Verify and their whitepaper for instance.

Since Bitcoin Core has a lot of depth with its features, how about Down to the inner core?

Only at the inner most core would we see the functions and potential of Bitcoin Core, while the outer core may just seemingly like an alt of Bitcoin. Wink

505  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Android App] Bitcoin Clicker - Free Satoshis on: November 16, 2017, 12:55:40 AM
Cool, I'm giving a go and playing it casually. Love the design and how the background shows the price of Bitcoin. Smiley Is the Bitcoin earned in the background due to 'mining' on the phone or is it just a for fun thing and gives satoshis?

Looking forward to your ranking implementation and jackpot! Cheesy
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ICGO - New ICO Listing Platform / Looking for feedback on: November 16, 2017, 12:41:17 AM
Your logo and site are fine, but the issue was the loading time. It took quite a while for me to load, and that's probably because of the large number of ICOs listed in the main page.

I suggest not having more than two page worth of scrolling on the main page, and you can do so by listing the top 10 ICOs of the 'IN PROGRESS' and 'UPCOMING' section, and then have a 'SHOW ALL' section which leads to a subpage of your site: ie. http://icgo.co.uk/in-progress/

This will make it neater, and not have the news, icos and everything on one page to cater to the needs or different users. Cheers and good luck to your site! Cheesy
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoins? Which is safer or more profitable? on: November 16, 2017, 12:33:21 AM
Long Term: Bitcoins
Short Term: Altcoins

Bitcoins is the first cryptocurrency, and that makes it the most trusted and used amongst all the other altcoins, so its the most safe to get hold of. However, since the price is so high right now, don't expect it to increase tenfold in the next few years as it would be a little unrealistic, but possible though.

Altcoins, or Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), can have potential if researched upon, which makes it more profitable, however, there are many scamcoins revolving about ICOs and altcoins, making it more risky than having Bitcoin.

It is up to you, but if you are new to BTC, I suggest getting some Bitcoin first. Smiley
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What projects are you behind? on: November 15, 2017, 12:13:10 PM
If you are interested to invest in ICOs, try taking a look at Verify, it is a service that provides an escrow that facilitates buyers and sellers. Think about the online businesses nowadays, which will continue to increase, and one thing thats good is their low fees, compared to payment services like PayPal, so you can imagine its success in the future where eCommerce will boom. Smiley

They are having their ICO sale soon, with a low hard cap of 2M $$ only, so do read their whitepaper, which is very detailed. This is one ICO which I find their service meaningful, just my opinion. Tongue
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: noob ? difference in purchase price and when it arrives in wallet on: November 15, 2017, 10:12:00 AM
There could be several reasons for this, firstly, where did you buy your Bitcoins from? From a local trader, exchange site, or BTC bank? Some places charge a higher amount than what it is to earn profit, which you may have bought at a higher price.

Next, the price of Bitcoin may have dropped in the few hours that you check, so make sure you keep a record of the cost and date+time of when you bought it. It is always a good habit to keep a portfolio or logbook of your transactions so that you can refer back in the future. Smiley
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on the up after declines on: November 15, 2017, 10:08:50 AM
The last week or so has been a tumultuous one for Bitcoin. According to recent analysis, the price of Bitcoin has always increased substantially after any dips greater than 20%.
Yes, definitely, Bitcoin prices work with a simple supply and demand logic, so we buy low & sell high! Once people see a significant dip in the price, other will start buying. As for when the price will have another breakthrough, we all know that it would be very soon, so we just have to wait. Smiley
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn't mining profitable now with increase in bitcoin price? on: November 15, 2017, 10:02:34 AM
Yes, you are right, major mining farms will expand their businesses, and it would be hard to compete, but you are right, it should still be profitable with low electricity bills. Like others have said, the difficulty of mining Bitcoins is increasing, so you get less Bitcoin overtime, so if people start now, it is just not as profitable.

Also, the thing is, the hardware is very expensive. And if you do not get those specialized hardware, you are simply wasting electricity, especially if you solo mine at home. (Basically not profitable)
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Stop Promoting Bad Coins on: November 15, 2017, 09:56:07 AM
Well, I am very new to the cryptosphere. I am very overwhelmed with all the new coins, ICOs etc.

What would you say is the "safest" way to approach a new coin? (I know there newer is a guarantee that the dev`s won`t disappear after they got their planned cap as mentioned Wink) but at least to be a little sure to spot the amateur scams at least  Grin

An active developer team is a must, contactable, and fast replying. There are thousands of altcoins, and even more ICOs coming up, and not all of them are 'good coins', and it is up to us to discern it from the bad coins. It is near impossible for bad coins to be stopped from being promoted, as they can do however they want, and there's no way to tell a coin that it is scam, unless it is really low effort.

ICOs and altcoins are an 'investment', so there are risks involved. What I look out for myself is novelty, reasonable intentions, and like I mentioned before, active team members in the ICO.  Cool

Verify is currently a promising project that I am looking, so you can take a look at it, as it is about targeting the eCommerce and Blockchain market, using escrows, trust and reputation, something you see very often here in the lending and selling sections of the forum. Smiley
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]✅✅✅ Introducing Verify - The Future of Reputation ✅✅✅ on: November 15, 2017, 08:18:03 AM
One thing I find great about this project is that such a system has not been pushed out and become successful, and I liked how it was compared to PayPal and the other sites, to prove how it is better than that.

I want to clarify some doubts about the CREDS tokens and the buyers/sellers in one of your previous replies.

Here's how it works: Verify Payments operates just like an escrow for sellers that have no reputation. As the reputation of sellers improves, they get a credit ceiling (maximum advance payment that they are allowed to get on orders) that increases proportionally with their reputation -- until it results in instant payouts for practically all of the sellers transactions.

If the sellers "scams" the buyer (e.g. delivers the wrong product), the actual damage would be limited to the credit that has been extended to that seller (since transactions outside the ceiling are escrowed). We have various controls in place to determine the credit ceiling that is safe to extend to a seller, based on their proven previous performance plus a delta. Credit is extended by the Verify Fund, for which we've dedicated 15% of the token supply for use strictly as an incentive for usage of the network.
What would the max credit ceiling be, in percentage of the total payment? Is there a way to recover these losses through the advance payment that the seller gets?

For example, the seller could have made many small transactions with high quality expectations, earning the seller a high rep and trust. Now the seller has another deal that worth a very large amount, so the credit ceiling would be a significant amount too. What is your goal in providing an advanced payment to sellers?

Also, will the rest of the payment only go through when the buyer receives and inspects the item, or before that? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I know escrow is a hard service to manage, especially when dealing with physical shipping, so I'm trying to get a better understanding and see if there are any loopholes. Smiley

Hope your ICO will be successful, really looking forward to the launch and your service in the near future, and hope it gains success! Cheesy
514  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What's better for ICO? on: November 14, 2017, 03:48:50 PM
I'm going for the existing one, ico.quantor.co as it is simpler and easy to remember. A new domain may confuse your visitors to your current site, and it is hard to devise a catchy site name for the ICO as well.

Just took a look at your site, I would suggest adding more photos of your company and perhaps even upgrade your site to get more users, good luck for your upcoming ICO! Cheesy
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just HODL Bro! It means more now than ever. sharing an art print. on: November 13, 2017, 04:23:19 PM
Woahh, you did make those artworks at the site that you listed? Those are some cool and cute drawings right there mate! Cool Agree that we should just HODL bro, Bitcoin is rising and if you can sit through the drops and what not, you will get there!

Hold it regardless!

517  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [FREE] WalletZ - The All in One Coin Balance Viewer on: November 11, 2017, 04:51:00 PM
Just to clarify, to use it, do you add all your coin addresses, and it will update your current amount there? Anything that requires download is sketchy to me, and for that I wouldn't use it. Why not change it to an online site instead? I don't see why a simple tool like this needs to be downloaded.

Would like it if this has notifications and linkable with pushbullet so that your phone can get updates too. Smiley
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does anyone heard of Bitcoin Diamond? on: November 10, 2017, 01:34:47 AM
I have heard of DMD, which is an altcoin. Their site is this: DIAMOND and this is their whitepaper

Not sure if you are referring to this, but this is just like any other cryptocurrency, like DogeCoins, LiteCOins, Ethereum... basically, alternative currencies to Bitcoin, hence the name altcoins. Smiley

The other site bitcoindiamond . org is just a scam site, do not even try.
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a bitcoin wallet a savings account or a payment account? on: November 10, 2017, 01:28:20 AM
Is bitcoin virtual gold or virtual cash? At this moment I consider bitcoin more as virtual gold. Currently banks offer savings accounts and payment accounts. I consider my bitcoin wallet as a savings account. At this moment my bitcoin wallets are not suitable as a payment account.
Bitcoin was created to by satoshi to be a digital investment, so you are right, it is more like virtual gold where you store it online. Also true that Bitcoin wallets can be both for payments and a savings, especially if you are doing  businesses online.

That is not a problem because I don’t want to pay with bitcoin. I regret all my past bitcoin payments (I do have a bitcoin debit card). I should have made those past payments with fiat currency and I should have saved my bitcoins because the value of those bitcoins has gone up considerably.
I have made many transactions and the fees are the thing that stops me as I usually do microtransactions <10USD, and the fees take up a significant portion. Just save your BTC for now. Smiley If you are dealing with thousands of dollars, then fees shouldnt be much of a problem then.
520  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign to promote affilate link on: November 09, 2017, 07:21:50 AM
Well, is it allowed or not?

Just to clarify, I am not affiliated with the site. I promote referral links to the site. I want to promote my referral links in a signature campaign. It's for a particularly lucrative referral system.

I just want to make sure this is allowed....
Yes, it is allowed to be placed in the signature. However, do take note that signatures may not offer a very high hit rate, and the rates for signatures are very competitive out there. Perhaps you can create a thread to offer rewards to those who signup under you and remain active. Smiley
