The deteriorating economy, growing unemployment and social unrest are leading to the spread of continents between the power of racism and xenophobia will win. Attacks on immigrants continues to increase. there is a scenario of a war on everyone's mind. a former stockbroker says; if everyone thinks the same thing it would be the opposite. probably as a result of economic reasons, wars will occur. Yes, the Battle may be for the money, but the wars of the new century may be new in cyberspace. I hope not.

BTC and gold are also the markets can rise.

To everyone who's part of the diplomacy in Sweden minigame:

I've tried various possibilities in how to apportion the SCI between the players, and there is a winner. I'm not claiming that this one maximizes the overall gain over all possible variants since there's an astronomical number of them, however.

Basically, the idea is that there are 4 variables in the formula:

(A-B-C)^2 / D

A is what you already put as an entry fee, it's fixed.
B is the mean amount you send
C is the mean amount you receive
D is the mean amount overall

Since you have to send all our SCI, B is equal to A divided by the number of people you send to. C is determined by other players. D decreases as the number of people you send to increases.

To get more points, you must increase the numerator, and decrease the denominator.

It seems that the best way to maximize the overall gain is to send low average to the people who paid a lot, and high average to the people who paid little. This means people who paid a lot end up with high A-B-C, and people who paid little end up with negative A-B-C (which, when squared, ends up positive). Basically, bring down high SCI people as little as possible, and bring down low SCI people as much as possible.

Now, the lower the D, the high the overall gain, all other things being equal. They're not equal though, and after experimenting, it seems like the influence of D outweighs others.

So in the end, the winning strategy is: low SCI poeple give to everyone (if they can - if they have less than 13 SCI in the game, they give 1 SCI to everyone except two, who get nothing), high SCI people split equally between low SCI people (but not high SCI people), everyone gets 1 if possible. If people have to split equally but end up with non-integer amounts, split the remainder between low SCI people.

This means the following:

Bucket: send 2 to roopatra, 1 to Crown, 2 to Odin, 1 to goin2mars, 2 to Erin, tombot, Veronica, 1 to Mooo, SirJacket, noms, Loaf, 2 to sammy007, deborah
Roopatra: send 1 to Bucket, Crown, goin2mars, tombot, Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, sammy007, deborah
Crown: send 8 to Bucket, Roopatra, Odin, goin2mars, Erin, tombot, Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, 7 to noms, Loaf, sammy007, deborah
Odin: send 1 to Bucket, Crown, goin2mars, tombot, Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, sammy007, deborah
goin2mars: send 7 to Bucket, Roopatra, Crown, Odin, Erin, tombot, Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, sammy007, 6 to deborah
Erin: send 1 to Bucket, Crown, Odin, goin2mars, tombot, Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, deborah
tombot: send 6 to Bucket, Roopatra, Crown, 7 to Odin, 6 to goin2mars, 7 to Erin, 6 to Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, Loaf, sammy007, deborah
Veronica: send 2 to Bucket, 3 to Roopatra, 2 to Crown, 3 to Odin, 2 to goin2mars, 3 to Erin, 2 to tombot, 2 to Mooo, SirJacket, noms, Loaf, 3 to sammy007, 2 to deborah
Mooo: send 142 to Bucket, Roopatra, 1 to Crown, 142 to Odin, 1 to goin2mars, 142 to Erin, 1 to tombot, 142 to Veronica, 1 to SirJacket, noms, Loaf, 142 to sammy007, deborah
SirJacket: send 142 to Bucket, Roopatra, 1 to Crown, 142 to Odin, 1 to goin2mars, 142 to Erin, 1 to tombot, 142 to Veronica, 1 to Mooo, noms, Loaf, 142 to sammy007, deborah
noms: send 113 to Bucket, Roopatra, 1 to Crown, 113 to Odin, 1 to goin2mars, 114 to Erin, 1 to tombot, 113 to Veronica, 1 to Mooo, SirJacket, 1 to Loaf, 114 to sammy007, deborah
Loaf: send 142 to Bucket, Roopatra, 1 to Crown, 142 to Odin, 1 to goin2mars, 142 to Erin, 1 to tombot, 142 to Veronica, 1 to Mooo, SirJacket, noms, sammy007, deborah
sammy007: send 1 to Bucket, Roopatra, Crown, Odin, goin2mars, tombot, Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, deborah
deborah: send 2 to Bucket, Roopatra, Crown, Odin, goin2mars, Erin, tombot, 1 to Veronica, Mooo, SirJacket, noms, Loaf, sammy007

That's a reasonably optimal setup I think.

Edit: To be clear: you don't actually send any SCI now. This is about the SCI you already consumed to be part of this minigame. You just send syksy a message with the above distribution I made for you.

Excuse my noob question, please, but does it make more sense to start playing from a scratch (simply register) or it's almost necessary to buy someone's account (is it allowed?) to have any fun?

If you decide to play, wherever a new char or buying one, you've the lucky recipient of HRH Zechariah's posting lottery, and  961008 M are waiting for you, should you give us a CK char id Smiley

Other bounties have been transfered to the posters, albeit as 60063 M/CK rate, since CK itself does not exist anymore.

char 675
I'm 41 now when I die do I keep the same character number?

I'm not quite sure what's coming up with clans with regards to death, but assuming you do die, you can create a heir who will be part of the same "house", which will keep the same character/house id, 675. The new character will have a newer character id, but will still belong to the older house.

Excuse my noob question, please, but does it make more sense to start playing from a scratch (simply register) or it's almost necessary to buy someone's account (is it allowed?) to have any fun?

There are several things you can do.

As you said, buying an account is a possbility. papa_lazzarou was considering selling maybe ? Other than that, I'm not aware of sellers, though offers can certainly be made.

Starting from scratch is easy and free, and you get to work your way to the top.

You can also buy your way into nobility from the get go. Zechariah would know how to do this now. I believe it used to be a fee, but it must have changed now.

Last, you can elect to create a "Foreign Owned Corporation", which is a type of account intended for depositors who don't want to play, but just speculate. This has a one time fee, 10 monero, I believe.

Currently, the only/main gameplay enabled in the game itself is the markets, so having fun requires depositing (though you get some CAN to get you started when you register, so you can get half a monero's worth if you sell it, so you can start with CK for example). You do not need to buy a character for this, and you will get up the ranks if you actively play.

OK, here's another technical question:

How do I programmatically find out at what block height the network is at? Interrogating (with get_info) a daemon in the process of syncing only shows the last block the daemon managed to get to, but not where the network is.

With the caveat that you can never know what the network really is at because you can never be certain you're not in a network partition...

If you're currently syncing, the target_height field will be set to the current highest known height among the peers you've connected to.

If you're not syncing, the target height will be 0, and thus the current height is the (part of your locally known) network's height.

HE the Margrave of Stonehaven, 29th/I Bt of CK, Councillor, AOK-K, AOD-Maj, Learned Naturalist, DOL-K, KI-K, MG-4, TB, KFB, CCB walks briskly back to the wooden building where HRH Prince Royal Zechariah, etc x3, incumbent Head of the House of Tavastia-rpietila-CK had been staying, having made his decision. He finds the Prince standing outside, deep in thoughts. He politely waits till Zechariah finishes his train of thought and they start walking slowly:

My dear Zechariah, I have been giving thought to your idea of the submit scheme, and your recent writings on the subject had me reassured as to the intent. Listening to what others have to say is always a good disposition of mind, even though this of course does not imply agreement or otherwise. And as you know I've been often ready to listen to you, and give my opinion as well. As such, I think it'd be good if we can agree on a formal recognition that we will listen to each other. I am therefore ready to submit to you (level 1), if you will do so to me under the same terms as you proposed. I trust someone of the light understands that one always has to keep the final decision on one's actions, and so the last item of your conditions is not agreeable to me. Although it is my expection that your would not ask unreasonable things, judgement over reasonableness can be a subjective and fickle thing, as you can well understand, so I will submit to level 1, and only request the same.

1. Listening to what I say, especially when I am talking to you;
2. If I ask anything that is reasonable, let's make a deal that you do it either
* out of love for me (just do it), or
* out of love for yourself (we can make a deal what I give you in return, for doing it);
3. If something is not reasonable, you just refuse to do it, no hard feelings, I'll ask someone else or do it myself;
4. If something just needs to be done, and you are the only one who has the key, just do it (, before I have to prod you).

SUBMIT 88 36 1

The two then change subject and talk about other things. After all the recent SCI research and possible Sweden connection is on everyone's mind of late.

Can I delete p2pstate.bin.unportable and poolstate.bin.unportable ?

I'd just leave them for convenience. Is there any reason you'd want to delete them?

Just noticed these .unportable file extensions. I assume <wallet-name>.unportable is the one we should backup now?

Are there plans in place to make these files portable?

They ones without .unportable are portable. Back both up, just in case, but the .unportable ones (the older ones) should not be needed anymore, if all goes well.

The Margrave of Stonehaven walks along the clearing near the Stonehaven preparation site, pondering HRH  Zechariah's request.

On the face of it, HRH's explanation looks sensible enough, and yet the Margrave senses some ulterior purpose. After all, he's been there to help around when needed in the past and still is, making this request seem superfluous. Besides, the very idea of submitting, as Zechariah put it, sounds like signing a blank cheque, something the Margrave feels unnecessary and liable to future friction.

However, the Margrave realizes that HRH's request is nothing but the explicit acknoledgement of common courtesy to pay attention to another, and considers giving in to Zechariah's insistence. After all, the Margrave would not commit to act in certain ways before knowing what is requested, and he feels that HRH's multiple requests show enough of a need for him to go along with this. Is it not that he has been the prime mover in the Kingdom, and his illustrious father before him ?

The clearing takes a long and winding path around the camp.
