1621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Southeast Asia? on: June 28, 2014, 01:20:17 AM
Dear all,

I'm currently cycling all around Southeast Asia (www.jackandiva.com - beta) and looking to spend/trade some BTC along the way (it's the only money we have to fund the trip!). Not much can be found on http://coinmap.org for the remote parts of S.E.A. and neither on https://localbitcoins.com.... do you guys know of places which accept BTC or people that want to buy? Any other suggestions?

We're really keen to pay for things in BTC and help promote it if possible!

Thanks!  Smiley

I can be your guide if you have a plan to visit Indonesia, I'll take care of everything to make sure you use BTC all the time Smiley

First thought is what brand power supply are you using? If your using a cheapo non name brand and even some name brands that could explain your problem. On the back is the psu rated power amps per circuit. I suggest you check that against the power draw of 2 s1's.

Steve

Yep, cheap & non-branded PSU is not recommended for S1. I wasted 2 -non branded- 500W PSUs months ago, then I bought Corsair CX500. Now they run great.

so if my network is sitting on 192.168.2.x i need to manually change it right? what would i put for default gateway? anything for dns?

First: This is my computer setting.

After you save this, plug your ethernet cable directly to your S1. Wait for a second and type 192.168.1.99 in your browser. And voila! It's connected.

awesome thanks for all the help fellas... will try this out and post results... would i need to turn off dhcp on the router as well tho and manually configure each device connected to it? i have a ton of wireless devices laptops cell phones apple tv etc...

Nice, anytime, man.

EDIT: Change your computer's IP first. Then you can chang your S1's IP to 192.168.2.XXX one by one so you don't need to change your computer's IP everytime you wanna connect to the S1.

1631  Economy / Services / [TRAVELBIT] Travel to Indonesia! on: June 23, 2014, 05:49:42 PM
"Bandung, Everlasting Beauty" - Bandung 200th Anniversary

So guys, do you have a plan to travel somewhere? Or maybe you're in Bali (Or this could be your first place to go BEFORE you go to BALI) and wanna see something different from Bali? Maybe Bandung is a good decision. Bandung, is a city in West Java, Indonesia (you can find more information you need in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandung ). Surrounded by mountains, Bandung is pretty.. Fresh. What can I show you then? Well, what can I provide is pretty much different than the travel agent has usually offered. Yes, it depends on how many days you will travel in my city.

e.g. If you have a plan to stay for 3 days, 1st day) I can take you to 2 mountains (Mt. Tangkuban Parahu & Mt. Patuha); 2nd day) Let's walk in the city, you can do some shopping or whatever; 3rd day) How about a cultural/historical travel? There's so many historical building in Bandung that will brings you back to the 1945-1960.

What can I provide is a cheap travel, includes:

- Cheap 3 Star hotel, around 30-50 USD/night or BELOW the hotel's publish rate (e.g. BLABLA Hotel's price is 80 USD/night, I can give you 50 USD/night)
- Cheap transport, around 50 USD/day, standard family car.
- Cheap food (of course), don't be fooled by a travel agent's guide, they'll cooperate with the restaurant to fool you on the price.
- Free WiFi.
- etc.

How this is gonna work?

- You contact me at ach.miner@yahoo.co.id
- You buy your own flight to Husein Sastranegara International Airport, Bandung.
- I'll pick you up at the airport
- You pay for the hotel & transport, you can pay with BTC or USD.
- Let's travel.

My service will be free for the Bitcoin Community. In other words, you just pay what you need to pay, I open this service just for FUN (you know it's wonderful when you can share some nice things to other people). But some tip will be much appreciated (a nice selfie photo of us also works!). Tongue

So guys, let's travel with me!
1632  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help: AntMiner S1! on: June 23, 2014, 04:41:03 PM
I'd suggest moving them a little bit farther away from the power supply so that it wasn't pulling in the heated exhaust from it.  I'd also suggest putting a 2nd fan on both units for a push-pull configuration to help pull heat from the units.  Also maybe add a fan to push cooler air into or toward the units that is unless you have an air conditioned room to move them into.

Actually, the blue fans are pulling the heat. Hmm, so then I need to hide the PSU somewhere farther, right? Great, thanks!

My S1 on the right one is hotter than the left one. Any correction for my S1's position, guys? Thanks!

that would indeed be easier but i cant even access the config page... i tried by accessing 192.168.2.99 on my network and 192.168.1.99 when going thru doge's tutorial nothing seems to work

What is your S1's IP Address? 192.168.1.99? Then set your computer IP to 192.168.1.1 and connect directly to your S1, never have a problem with that.
