Shooting in the dark here without more detail, but did you download the blockchain that's posted in the OP?
I did not, I just grabbed the wallet. I will get it downloaded and see if that solves the issues, thanks! We've hardforked the blockchain to keep it alive, and as a result it doesn't sync up past block 3 on it's own. I've identified the reason this happens and I've found some code from another coin that did a similar hard fork. We are working on getting the wallet back to 100% autonomous syncing, and then possibly integrating another future hard fork to return the specs close to the way they were originally. Once we iron out the lingering bugs and release the next version it would be a good time to re-launch with a fresh thread to get people noticing that we're out of the woods. I'll check to see what we can do about cryptocointalk - there might be a thread or something already. |

We'll get that sorted out in the next version - if there are no PoW blocks produced until block 6000 (which at this point looks like that will happen) it's a pretty easy fix. Re-starting PoW after it had stopped seems to make the wallet a wee bit touchy, we can revert to the way it was after we pass block 6000 and it should sync just fine like it used to before the changes were introduced. We'll keep it the way it is right now so we don't cause unnecessary forking.

Do we need transactions to help move the block-chain along or is it only coins being staked? I have a tonne of coins. I moved a few thousand to a wallet yesterday with the intent on staking them, they have not shown up yet. Would carrying out 100 (or pick any arbitrary number) transactions throughout the day be of any use?
Transactions don't help the blockchain move - they are what the staking system is processing. It's only staking that moves the blockchain - it's most helpful to leave the coins in a wallet without moving them. There are always 2 transactions in each block anyways because the staking system destroys and creates coins automatically. |

I chatted with Carsen - he admits to moving on and has agreed to hand over the thread to me and work with us to fix the coin. I am now the operator of the techcoinproject user so I'll be updating the OP finally. I have not paid anything or received anything, this is purely for the good of the coin and our collective investments in it, especially those of us who bought in for the long term gains and WANT to stake. I think IF everyone updates to the latest wallet we might be able to avoid another hard fork and PoW... let's get rolling! Thank you for the block explorer.. super helpful.. I'll see about getting a copy of the blockchain uploaded somewhere in case there's a problem getting to block 5068 by sync. |

I can't dump the key, wallet seems to be broken. What to do now?
Backup your wallet.dat file and close all instances of the qt and make sure you load the latest wallet. Let me know. Just remember I love you all and I wouldn't leave Techcoin hangin  |

Github has been updated with the fix. Recompile your wallets, Techcoin is online ....Windows QT underway. Sorry for not appearing here in a few days. Techcoin is good to go....If anyone wants to recompile a Mac O S X Wallet QT, please PM me. Please read through the thread. The rest was sent for bounties earlier on for the block explorer, faucet, and faucet fund. The premine was in separate addresses and put back into one for easy viewing for everyone for transparency. |

So you all invest only because it have 184k coins? I don't get it, nothing new... (little scary 1,6% premine)
1.6% premine is just a little scary. What's more scary is I just bought 4,000 coins. O_O that is like double the premine. It's a game of chicken. Buy and try to not be the last one to sell. If the dev comes through with something cool then the bagholders profit and if the dev doesn't then at least we got out and hopefully the whales are the bagholders and can take the hit. Techcoin is still trading at a super low price....Once the dumps stop...It will climb. The coin is already worth much more than it currently is, now is a good time to buy in if you weren't able to mine much. Premine is not being sold. There are bounties in the OP. I believe Wolf Rainer is working on one of them (Promo Video). What future? You are dev and you talking only about price. I can see only that you want to make money and that's it, nothing new and you even don't try to do something, so... Sorry but it's my opinion. I was only being positive. why call it tech? is there any new tech in this coin?
Our goal is to eventually have different technology companies using Techcoin as a merchant payment processing solution. (We are in the process of getting in contact with several candidates) The newest tech is X13 algorithm...The code is not cloned from any other X13 coin. also want to ask, what are your plans for the future dev? I do not want to make any promises. I think its better to set goals rather than promises. Has dev addressed any things regarding huge PREMINE?? Like transparency, how dev gonna use premine?  If not dumping is INEVITABLE. I hold my precious 300 tech till pow ended.Hope you won't dump your premine like other shitty devs recently. This coin is not a case of where the dev can dump the premine and destroy the coin. There are many individuals with more coins then the premine. Since this coin will be almost all mined out in the next hour or so the 1.6% premine is irrelevant, unlike premines in the other coins that have a POW that lasts weeks, months or years, in those coins yes the dev. will always have the most coins and be a poison. That is not possible here. If the dev. dumped is coins it would have little effect since almost all the coins are outstanding at this point . You are absolutely correct, that is another reason to include. The premine will not be dumped though, as stated in past posts looks like TECH is on its way to the moon right now! |
