1  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Nigerian street pranks and its effect. on: April 12, 2024, 03:03:09 PM
Op I have not seen that part of the prank from my end. Taking someone's phone and smatched it on the ground. Men that one na expensive joke ohh. As for me you go buy new phone then still repair that phone for me so that I go transfer the data and the documents from the old phone to di new one. Then you go still settle me with some amount of money for using me to cast your pranks. Oboy if all these things are meant then you can come and use me to cast your pranks everytime. Because na him don turn to part of the life hustle. Really I have not seen that in any of them.
I have seen such pranks of persons having their phones smashes just to be handed a new one, probably an iphone and the victim just become flustered with emotions that they forgot to recover the old smashed one.

I have often thought that these pranks go too far many times and although I have not been pranked, I don't wish to go through the emotional confusion I may experience at the time of being pranked because just like you said, e no go too funny for the person wey start the prank o. I know just wan know weda na prank or not, e go collect slap first and small uppercut just to calm down and re-explain why e be me e come prank.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: April 12, 2024, 02:46:02 PM
All what you have listed is actually true. Especially knowing the reputation of the campaign you are advertising here because it could lead to receiving red trust. Because you are speaking good of a campaign that is not as good as you call it.

It is important that you know this, joining any campaign is at your own risk for them to pay you or not, and you will receive a tag because you're contributing to the promotion of a fictious site, though the forum doesn't moderate scam, but the tag members will leave on you will help any future dealings you may engage into with other members have a clue about your past deals and promotions.

Another point I also love is to check the the maximum post per week before joining the campaign otherwise you might end up joining a campaign that will make you post out of point do to completing of post count. And also lastly to making sure we know what we are about to promote. Because according to the image of the user above, shows that the owner of that account is not promoting gambling rather talking out of point because he doesn't like gambling but was just fortunate to work with a gambling campaign.

Its very important to read the rules and regulation under the campaign OP thread on the first page, many will first jump into applying before taking time to read what is in their campaign rules which is wrong.

One fact I like is that every member here uses a psuedonym as names they go by and even if they join any signature campaigns, the comments from previous posts shouldn't be much of a worry to the individual when joining a new campaign, unless they joined campaigns or participated in boards discussion that has little to boost their reputation.

Morals get to be tested from what I have read too and if someone is against gambling and does campaign for a gambling site, that makes them accomplice to gambling too.
Still, shouldn't joining signature campaigns here, be more of a job description rather than many members referring to it in a mocking way, as though those of whom it benefits aren't doing it more for the pay than for the love ?
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what would I do, if I paid for coin and the seller refused to release it. on: April 12, 2024, 02:11:44 PM
something triggered me to ask this question, As a new trader As I am, we know very well that binance is no longer in Nigeria any more. some weeks ago I paid for particular coin and the seller refused to release the coin to me, the next thing he do. He went Off line for about 3 hours before coming on line again,at the end of the day he released the  coin to me after 3 hours. because binance security was so secured, if the person doesn't want to release the coin.you can quickly go to appeal and everything will be settled, after giving them the screenshot of your payment receipt.
Appealing is just the best thing to do whenever some one refuses to release a coin after payment buy then since Binance isn't available in Nigeria again you can get to try other exchange and see if they will be able to offer same service but for the sake of security, make sure to transact only small amounts first so you use that to get an idea into what their security action looks like because it may differ from that of Binance, Binance happens to be the number one exchange and so it's usually expected of them as the number one to be able to have good security protocol which ensures the safety of their customers buy i don't know how well it is actually with others so if you are trying others, always make sure to use a small amount for trials after which you can proceed to doing huge transactions.

With Binance P2P whenever issues as this arises you can easily appeal and their customer service which is usually very quick to response will definitely respond as quick as possible but i don't really have an idea into how quick it is with other exchanges and that's why for a trial start with small amount.
Customer service surely have to be notified if something as OP has mentioned happens. I for one wouldn't wait for long, if I were the one in same position and am sure that many of the exchanges right now have KYC verification that can easily let them know which customer has refused to release the funds being bought already.

As long as there is an uploadable and available screenshot of transaction, I believe the issue should get resolved in time if reported to customer service.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / How many times in a year should a professional boxer or UFC fighter fight? on: April 12, 2024, 02:04:12 PM

A random thought just bumped my head after seeing a movie in which Conor McGregor was the villain and it was rather interesting to see him using his fighting skills just like the way Mike Tyson did in IP Man, just to earn good money and fame.
Am sure they have now reduced their active rate so far, due to age or medical reasons, but they still workout and train and stay fit because it's already a habit to them.

Now, if I were to compare the number of times Mike Tyson had to fight in one year and that was in 1985, it was about 15 times which is way more on an average compared to Conor McGregor who only got to fight 14 times professionally over an 8year UFC career.
My question is this;

* How many times a year, should a professional boxer or UFC fighter fight?

5  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigerian System of Education on: April 11, 2024, 04:34:13 PM
FOTRAN...This person na UNIPORT student  Grin Grin Grin. I get your point but it is what it is. but i don't think it should be a problem for you now... The internet is always there for you to update and make yourself better. Am tired of complaining this days so i try to put in work.
Hehehehe...I don laugh tire no be small.
Well, UNIPORT or not, the condition of our educational system, from the basic to the tertiary level is quite appalling and it takes only those who went to privately owned and managed schools, to get the best jobs and appointments in this country.

Fees are on the verge of getting hiked again, as we see already in Lagos where students took to the streets to riot based on the tuition fees increment.
I wish better policies like the student loan initiative and something like a study and work program should be created for students, so they can fend for themselves and afford the fees required.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been dusted!! Don't panic on: April 11, 2024, 04:23:46 PM

Many times or almost all the time. Some sending soam tokens or coins that even have value which I believe is just a bait for you to use it or sell it but its only a way to lure you to a potential hack. There are different kind of dusting mostly are soam tokens and sometime small amount of eth or fake nft or tokens that integrated on real or original projects which you could foreseen as real. So be careful best move is to avoid them or ignore when you are using such as etherscan or depends on the network you used.

Although I have never been dusted before, I have come across several posts like this talking about this dusting attack as a strategy hackers use to steal ones coins  unsuspectingly.
Now that I have read and comprehended what it means, I would try as much to avoid ever being dusted, mostly because I have been thinking about trying to earn tokens that can accumulated and converted to cryptocurrencies.

I wonder if such tokens in my sweatcoin app wallet can get dusted like this or such can happen if my wallet is connected to cryptocurrencies exchange platform where the dusters may have gotten my information from?
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You will lose more if you DCA without knowledge on: April 11, 2024, 03:55:17 PM
...
This outcome lead me to make further research about the best way to build profits using DCA and I find out that, is a wrong thing to do as a newbies without adequate knowledge about the volatility of the bitcoin market, and also no matter how sweet the DCA approach have been for experience bitcoin investors, DCA can still be the worst for a newbies,  so I say newbies should stay away from DCA until they have the knowledge of the risk and approach to DCA.

...
You didn't share with us the research knowledge you gathered for the best DCA strategy to adopt by newbies like me willing to invest in cryptocurrency. You should have, but it's okay.

Well, from my own research, DCA relieves market volatility by spreading out a certain amount of investments over a set amount of time, reducing the impact of market fluctuations on expected profits.
Also, when trying to DCA, the right time to invest is very important because it determines how effective the strategy is with producing the right profit/returns based on the risk taken.

In total, the way an investor wants to invest is crucial and very reliant on the investors risk appetite, the time horizon of the region the investor resides in and what the objective or goal for DCAing is.
In summary it is best a newbie like us, start with small purchases at lower frequencies, at the right time with a very good goal in mind.
8  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Sometimes try to compromise... on: April 03, 2024, 02:27:16 PM
...Sometimes it is good to compromise and sometimes it is bad it depends how u get urs or how it comes and how u face it.
I may be of the opinion that it depends on ones instinct though. Because when one knows how to follow what is on their mind or their minds thought, they accomplish unexpected feats.
The friend in this post sure followed his gut feeling just as you did same and am very sure it doesn't always work in your favor just as the friend doesn't always record losses.

To me compromising is a characteristic that can become very addictive because it will sure force the person to give up their principles and life direction just to fulfil a wish or urge that may or may not be bad, that's if it becomes a constant habit during betting or gambling or partaking in other immoral vices.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When will you finally buy on: April 03, 2024, 01:44:37 PM
That is the most mistake some people's usually make in their life: they will not buy Bitcoin the time price is dropping. Till when the price rises, they will find an excuse and start debating themselves by asking irrelevant questions. And anyone who truly wants to achieve what others have accomplished should do the right thing at the same time. When you see that Bitcoin is at a cheaper price, it is actually the moment to purchase Bitcoin, and even when it comes to earnings, you may earn large gains, which can even motivate you to buy more Bitcoin next time.

However, individuals that purchase Bitcoin at high prices end up losing a lot of money since they don't perform any study on the Bitcoin market before purchasing it. Having expertise and information about any investment is critical to your success, but not everyone understands this, which is why the number of people who lose money on investments outnumbers those who succeed.
Potential investors have a lot of reasons for buying and at the right time for buying. I have learnt and still am about the cryptocurrency market and although BTC is my number one choice, I will want to be sure I have gathered enough knowledge and ranked up here, before I delve into owning Bitcoin and maybe some top performing altcoins too.
Also, this halving I have heard and read so much about has to happen firstly too before I finally decide if I want to be a regular trader or just holder of BTC.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase backup against natural disaster areas on: April 03, 2024, 01:30:24 PM
The truth is there is no 100% guarantee way of storing your keys and seed phrases but the fact is some are safer than others. I guess in the case of a natural disaster, you should probably have a local drive back up. Some people are even of the idea of encrypting them and probably storing them online.

Anyways here is an old post in same context if you go through the replies you will probably get a suitable answer.
Keeping or recovering seed phrases during or after a natural disaster.

I have gone through the old thread you mentioned and some of the proposed solutions (not only about physically protecting your seeds, but other threats too) are very interesting.

Apart from keeping the seed into a safe, it would be a good idea also to store it in hermetic, fireproof envelopes, just in case (fire or floods can ruin it otherwise).
I have also seen a luxury watch online that was designed to save ones key phrases. I know it might sound very expensive because it actually is, it would not be easily missing incase such unpredictable disaster do happen.
I think the idea of scribbling the key phrases on a pendant or dogtags or titanium plate might be nice since another person may not easily decode what links such words.
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: The challenges of protecting children from gambling on: April 02, 2024, 04:15:15 PM
Is there anything that can be done to protect children from gambling with reference to physical shops that they see everyday?
Nothing can be done really, but it's not because the children know they would be in serious 'pot of soup ' literally, if they get caught by their parents or guardian or someone who knows them and know they shouldn't be there, but because they know their age wouldn't allow them, their knowledge of how to play the bet is often skewed, but if they insist, then the owners of the bet shops or gambling houses knows better than to allow children indulge in such habits unless they are orphans, lack child support or are members of street gangs and cults.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: Worldcup qualifiers - CAF. on: April 02, 2024, 04:04:56 PM

it's bad that we've not really worked on playing well at the defence level without ekong standing thier to do his work. Both the goal scores during the game against Ghana and that scored during this last game against mali are both confusion from the part of the defenders which wouldn't have happened if ekong was at the defence line.

Ekong has almost reached the stage he would be bidding farewell to the eagles and a strong and matured replacement should have already been in place that will man up to that responsibility. It's true by individual stand point, the super eagles have players with better ranking but you know that doesn't directly translate to a win right? You've got to prove to your opponent team that you're worth the hype and they will definitely come as an undercover and once you don't make best use of your chances, you get punished big time for for it.
Well the AFCON has ended and Peseiro’s contract too was reaching its end and as such I don’t think the NFF were ready to renew due to reasons best known to them. Still we must commend Jose for how tactical he was and his tactics even though we want to criticize we can’t deny the fact that it helped us to this final of the NFF.

Yes, we can see how much he’s helped us and yes we can’t keep crying over spilled milk as now we must fave the reality of needing a new coach that will help take us to the World Cup. Any coach with less standard than Jose will not be acceptable because this boys have now risen above average and need to either maintain it or go above par.

The goals we conceded in the matches against Ghana and Mali were really uncalled for and it showed how much our defense line isn’t organized and this is one big issue the mew coach will have to address. Ekong is out on injury and we saw how much he commanded and guarded the defense line of the Super Eagles during the tournament and now in the 2 matches without him, we’ve conceded some crazy goals that shows how sluggish our defense line is.

Super Eagles will need to re strategize as their opponents are now scared of them especially after theIR AFCON feat and they ought to still maintain that standard so as to still keep soaring. I’ll also want the football body to get a new coach on time as that will help in him being able to select the right team to do his job and deliver on his tactics.
Sincerely, I think that having a foreign coach for the super Eagles is one way the players have got to be their best and show class in all their outings.
The jersey designs is another one that is not a joke to the players because the NFF sure understands that these players can perform better if they have a likeness to their international clubs in terms of the kind of coaching quality, kits, warfare and care packages as well as benefits.

Having a foreign coach for the super Eagles will strengthen their stand and add elevation to their current status in both African and international competitions.
14  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if the Bitcoin was in note? on: March 28, 2024, 06:39:47 AM
I think every currency has the reason why it was created and with Bitcoin, it was so designed to be a digital currency of exchange.
Also, I think if Bitcoin were to be in note form, it would mean that the government of the country has adopted it as a legal tender and it is the only currency in use for buying and selling and payments for services render. Otherwise, I don't see how two currencies can have bank notes and be used at same time in a country. It will obviously create so much more confusion.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I really hold onto my bitcoins in the future? on: March 27, 2024, 10:53:09 PM
I think it is possible to hold unto your Bitcoin into the future even up to a decade if you may.
I have read posts here that talk about holding or accumulation of Bitcoin for a long time until one decides he/she wants to sell them or withdraw it or invest the Bitcoin to buy other altcoins and shitcoins.
You just have to be more consistent in this forum to learn how to safely do it and the needed tools to attain that goal.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your next step if you experience a Great BEAR MARKET ? on: March 27, 2024, 10:16:20 PM
I have come to understand that the bullish or bearish seasons is as a result of supply or demand. while the bearish season assures more coin in supply than demanded by investors, the bullish season is a time when the demand for the coin is higher than what is in supply.

For now so far this year we have been witness to more bullish trends than bearish. I suppose it is because of the ETF approval and the much hype about the halving that will happen sooner than later.

I would like to think that If I were a trader during a great bear market, the short- selling  position is the strategy I would employ.
This is done by speculating on the falling market prices. If my prediction clicks, then I have made a profit, else it's a loss should the price move against my speculation. More like predicting the outcome of a soccer event.
18  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Exchanges Website Nor Dey Open Again? on: March 26, 2024, 08:13:00 PM
Dat is why e come to local board once a day and make comments before going to another places. Dis matter we don talk pass since for almost a month now. In fact since Di day when di matter Casablanca. The first thing wey Binance did when they get Di issue with Nigeria Government with di agencies na to block di Binance website then di second one was to to disable peer to peer with Nigeria Naira but you could still use withdraw to make transaction with di naira and after one week di withdrawal button was disabled later and now you can't use Binance in Nigeria currency except Cryptocurrency to cryptocurrency. OKX is working perfectly with the App, even bitget is also working well even with the naira transactions. It is only Binance has stopped their services in the country.

We don talk am for here before. Even Remitano sef e no dey work again with di naira. And I hear shey Binance now e don go get wahala for India again.
No be small wahala o. All this issues just dey make some people tire for crypto currency idea, because na so Dem go dey drag and people wey e no suppose concern go dey suffer am.
Binance own too much sef, abi Dem no know say Dem suppose settle government before Dem go gain ground? Abi na just trial by error Dem take start the exchange business?
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It is not to late, but how do I get established with BTC and the community? on: March 26, 2024, 08:05:54 PM
You can start as you have done, by creating good topics like this one where you ask sincere questions about whatever bothers you on the subject of Bitcoin.
Although I think there's boards specifically for talking about other cryptocurrencies here and other interesting things that may concern politics, soccer, off topic and the likes.

By expressing yourself more, you will learn faster and better and even be known about.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New New on: March 26, 2024, 07:46:46 PM
Hi there to all of you. I'm new here, but I have a question about sports and betting. Is there a reliable website for soccer predictions? If yes, what is it called? The international week is uninteresting, and I don't understand why Ashley Cole was listed as a Hall of Fame player.
I think you can easily check your play store or apple store for useful apps in this case, because if there's any, it would definitely be there with lots of preference for you.

Even if you do indeed find an app or a website that predicts sports and betting, you would still need to do your own homework of which includes you being conversant with soccer, the names of star players who can influence the outcome of a team side, and the strategy you can use that can serve you best when placing a bet.
