Saturday, bloody saturday. But wasn't futures to arrive at 12/18/17 no earlier?
And to be honest there had been margin trades on offer all the preceeding years.
So what exactly changes by now?

Why do you keep creating semi-shitty topics with short, vague questions?  That's shitposter-bait right there, so be careful.

Having said that, apparently a lot of people are indeed cashing out, because we're getting a nice correction right now.  A healthy one.  A lot of noob bitcoiners freak out when there's a 20% (or more) drop over the course of 24 hours (or less), but that's business as usual in crypto.  I'm not concerned in the least, because my frame of reference is $400 for bitcoin.  Where we're at is astounding, even if we're at $13k.  That's incredible growth in a very short time span--and cashing out is normal when you make huge profits, which a lot of people have.
Another reason why people are cashing out is because its Christmas time.
That is true.  I didn't even think of that.

Another reason why people are cashing out is because its Christmas time.  Every body needs to buy something so they need fiat.
As far as I know March to June is the altcoin season.

Is everyone selling their BTC?

the price "WAS" dropping rapidly yesterday not today. to be precise it was 12+ hours ago where price started dropping fast and it is over now.
if you want to panic and sell during times like this, you should do it at the start of the drop or better do it before it. but NEVER after it. and now we are after the drop.

in any case, if price continued dropping then sell otherwise it is too late.

When I saw this a few days ago in the financial news, that was my "sell signal":

$0000 - $1000: 1789 days
$1000- $2000: 1271 days
$2000- $3000: 23 days
$3000- $4000: 62 days
$4000- $5000: 61 days
$5000- $6000: 8 days
$6000- $7000: 13 days
$7000- $8000: 14 days
$8000- $9000: 9 days
$9000-$10000: 2 days
$10000-$11000: 1 day
$11000-$12000: 6 days
$12000-$13000: 17 hours
$13000-$14000: 4 hours
$14000-$15000: 10 hours
$15000-$16000: 5 hours
$16000-$17000: 2 hours
$17000-$18000: 10 minutes
$18000-$19000: 3 minutes

Especially the 3 minutes part.  I was in awe of the insanity and how long the price stayed up especially with the CME/CBOE coming online in less than a week.  This was a good week to gauge both greed and the amount of dumb money in these markets.  Oh yea...and most of the shitposters are quiet on a Sunday afternoon...their time.  They don't understand the drop at all and are stunned speechless for the most part.  Most of them have no ability to sell, even if they wanted to a few days ago.  It's kinda sad actually.  I can't stand shitposters either but I can imagine their fear and doubt right now and that's not fun.

I am enjoying this price downflow because my altcoins were dead. Now seems they are coming to life again. Grin

I've been steadily cashing out. It's been great I've only been a miner a little over 6 months and didn't expect these roi's  and profits for atleast another 6 months to a year.

When it peaked the other day I even pulled out the amount I had been saving up from tips and sig campaigns.
Its good for the crypto indstry, altcoins were declined too hell due to that price rise.

I've noticed coins like LTC hit a nice little bump, I bought one a few days back and sold it today.

Just the natural order buy something on a dip, and when things perk up let'er  rip... to get poetic.

To sell now bitkoyn or not, it's personal. Now, probably, many partially translate bitcoin into fiat, or are just preparing to buy for bitkoyn in connection with the New Year holidays and Christmas. In addition to the usual correction bitcoin, perhaps this also affects him in lowering his course. We will see if it will stay in place for some time, or even drop a little, then, most likely, it is. So it was a good time to use the bitcoin stop and take some profit. However, it must be borne in mind that soon again bitkoyn will quickly rise up.

I think the people prefer to hold their coin and waiting the price increase again.. bitcoin still in the high price, don't worry too much.. but if someone need cash, no problem for them to cash out the profit.. everyone has their choice..

I agree with you, i think that's the reason why they cashing out their bitcoin ( like you said. ) And that's the number one reason why the value of bitcoin dicrease. Anyways, for me i don't want to cashout or sell my bitcoin because i know the price is going back after this coming fork.

Do you really think anyone here can predict it? I seriously can't. These crypto makets are becoming heck of unpredictable. We see new booms and new corrections each and every day. Its becoming difficult even for traders. so its better to cash out profits whenever you get a chance to do so. Moreover not to forget that a new wave was added to the never-ending Bitcoin mania when the Chicago Board of Exchange (CBOE) became the first major derivative exchange to launch Bitcoin futures on December 10.

Getting its futures listed on a top exchange of US is a great thing in itself and clearly exhibits that its price is certainly going to shift upwards in coming futures.

You can do it whenever you want to.
But just for me, it will always be not a good time to sell.
I have been thinking about all the bitcoin I have that I have sold before and now it is all regrets.
So from now on, I dont want to feel that again, I know this price hike aint over yet. There will be more increase that will come. Those forks that will happen will just make bitcoin popular again.
Hey, and they will be storing back their bitcoins.

I dont think everyone is selling their bitcoin, i think the recent price drop of bitcoin is because of the congestion in the network, there are lots of unconfirmed transaction for the last 2 days.
After the congestion on eth network now its bitcoins network, i dont know the reason why the network is congesting but i hope it will be fixed soon.
