1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why did Stellar Lumens rise so much? on: December 07, 2017, 05:13:40 AM
What's good about the coin?

XLM is funded by BILLIONS of XRP.

Also, they signed IBM to use XLM for cross border payments around the world.

Stellar essentially has IBM selling XLM's use case to the world.

Will this bring IBM out of its 30 year slump or will it finally send it into bankruptcy?
Only time will tell...

BTC has finally died.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 31, 2017, 09:23:44 PM
Do you guys think STR will also follow XRP soon because seeing how they grow right now, they may be able to climb up just where XRP is right now. They are dirt cheap still which is why buy some may not hurt. I have bought few already just to make sure I won't be left behind.  Grin

xrp dirt cheap price i still remember was approx 500 sat
and the way its performing, we will soon see that 500 sat

Butt hurt.

the worst coin that made me pretty much lose how many thousand dollars,,before its in May i bought at 18K price until now never return to that price
plus yesterday and today many people speculate to buy this coin with the news SWELL conference but not the price will PUMP exactly the opposite DUMP
2x I was fooled with fake coins like this RIPPLE  Angry Angry Angry Cry

This is a good lesson for you for sure, regarding believing the hype. However I still believe in this coin for the long term (2-3yrs) so my advice is to hang on. However if you want to sell, remember when you bought xrp back in may bitcoin was at 1/2 the price it is now, so you can sell when/if xrp = 9k sats, to break even regarding fiat transfer.
There was a lot of hype, for which I have conservatively argued against at various times in this thread, for my position on xrp is a 50c max over the next 12 months. There is no moon due to the huge amount of the pre-mined tokens which has a limiting affect considering the overall market cap.

good luck.

I couldn't of said it any better myself.

However, I see a $0.60 max just based on the price always goes higher than we think then dumps even lower.

And the new ride may be due to this :

Quote

So you're saying an animated GIF increased the value of XRP by more than 35%? If that is the case, XRP investors and speculators are morons.

Yayyy I invested in XRP at $0.006 and now it's  $0.25. I'm a moron, I never knew it felt this good to be a moron.

Thank you for this humbling experience!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 22, 2017, 06:29:06 PM
I dont know what is going on with this coin, it is going down every week... i am just getting tired of seeing it in the top ten.
And it looks like a joke when a lot of people thinks that this could get to $1 each, it is riddiculous, considering that there are billions in circulation.
I dont know how is gonna be the future of this, but probably it will be freezed for a long time.

Can you explain how circulation amount affects on XPR price?

How about USD price, considering that there are trillions in a real circulation?

Only 38bn XRP are in circulation right now, so releasing up to 1bn into the wild per month does have a very significant inflationary impact, and naturally puts constant downward pressure on the price - for at least four more years.

To put things into perspective, there is currently 1.5 trillion USD in circulation, so releasing 1bn XRP into the supply would equal to 15 billion USD released each month. At today's prices, you could buy two or three aircraft carriers with that much money. But after a few months of such inflation, their price would increase and you could only afford a few destroyers for that price  Undecided

Just an fyi, the billion xrp released per month is correct. However, whatever xrp isn't used/sold/loaned etc will be put back into escrow every month.

So just for a fun example, in January I expect ripple to have 600 million xrp that wasn't needed out of the 1 billion released out of escrow. So this 600 million xrp will go back into escrow. Then we do it again in February and so on.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Just Bought 876 Golem ($500 BTC) At 57 cents. What do you think? on: June 29, 2017, 04:48:10 AM
This is my first time trading altcoins, and I converted $500 of my bitcoin into 876 golems at an ask price of 0.00022300 BTC per Golem.

What do you think Golem will be doing?

Give me your speculation and opinions please.

Thanks!

I bought 4500 Golem at $0.024 mid March. I've slowly sold it down to 1500 Golem.
Golem just like several others has been great for investing and trading the last few months.
IMO Golem is a long term 5 plus year HODL with profits made from trading crypto. Funds that I can afford to lose.
I'd love to see Golem drop and to accumulate more over the next few years but it may just continue to keep reaching new highs.

Nobody knows if you should buy $500 worth of Golem 10 times over the next 30 days or buy $5000 worth of Golem over the next 3 days.

I believe in their use case, I'm sure you have done your due diligence
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Golem (GNT) Speculation on: May 26, 2017, 01:57:47 PM
I think Golem is the most successful project based on Ethereum. And I believe the price will hit $1 very soon.

I agree it is the most successful project based on Ethereum. But I don't see it hitting  $1 and staying around that range for years to come.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 25, 2017, 10:06:54 PM
i dont own any XRP but im interested to buy some now. Im ok to hold long terme 2 years + if necessary.

what do you think the value of the coin will be in 1-2 years? realistically...

im thinking of buying 10 000 XRP tonight, is it a good time to buy?

If you are "ok to hold long term 2 years+" then adding xrp to your portfolio or trapper keeper over the next 6 months can be justified.
Others are ready to hodl for 5-10 years.
Just know there is a large group of people that bought xrp at $0.00666 for years and if you bought now it would be around $0.25. Thats pretty expensive to me.

If I were buying now, I'd be looking more to actually using XRP for settlement/cross-border payments/goods and services, not to sell for a native currency like others around here that have made millions of $$$ who have been in XRP from the beginning.

I'd still like to think that we are in the beginning stages. I mean, how many of our friends and family use XRP to transact? Almost none. So heaps of opportunities for growth in demand.

If supply is reasonably constant (which is the case for XRP with 55b XRP in smart contracts) then rise in demand means increase in price. This is Economics 101 Supply & Demand.

We are definitely just at the beginning stages of this whole new asset class.

However, nobody can tell you where the price of XRP will go.
Yea I wish it could go to a $1, but I can see it being stable at $0.50 for the next 2 years as well which would be a huge success still to me.

I watched their CEO on cnbc today. He could of done better. I wish he would of corrected the interviewer that this cryptocurrency can be traded to other currencies like usd.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple is in major trouble on: May 25, 2017, 09:02:45 PM
There is trolling everywhere in this topic. Pure Speculation. Like as if the readers are plain stupid. Like as if all those who have put their money on Ripple are just naive kids who have been misled by the evil Ripple devs.

Yep, since 2013.
"They" have beat down ripple/xrp all the way from $0.006 to $0.40 then back down to $0.25.
While lurkers, who have accumulated over the last 4 years, are looking ahead to 2018/2019.

Some are against everything ripple stands for and would rather miss a 10000% return in a 5 year span (March 2017-March 2022) than provide liquidity/value to Ripple Inc by buying xrp. Others just don't think ahead of tonight's dinner.

Some are just here to feed their kids.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple announces XRP lockup, locking up as many as 88% of its current XRP. on: May 19, 2017, 06:09:16 AM
Ripple can produce XRP out of thin air,
last time they did it,
was 333 Mil. tokens in january,
so why shouldn´t they "lock" them,
to drive the price up.

 Grin

Hahaha the last time they "did it" was this week. And it's going to happen again next week, and the week after that. Maybe a lil extra the week of Christmas. You know for some tax writeoffs.

This old and drawnout topic about ripple's distribution of its 100 billion XRP created at the genesis ledger by Jed is  like having the birds and the bees conversation with a new kid every day.

Don't ask me for the genesis ledger, i don't have it. Wink
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine that anybody can go to any bank to exchange XRP in the near future on: May 19, 2017, 03:06:30 AM
Because they are not you Smiley lol...Joke
It's the "Liquidity" man Smiley

So you plan on directly walking into a bank to buy xrp (a digital asset for payments) at the counter to take home and do what buy other things with it because of the "Liquidity"?
Sounds contradictory to me.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple and XRP are more stable than you think on: May 17, 2017, 11:50:48 PM
The regulators received their xrp a long, long time ago...

cool, their incentive to push it will benefit all those who have it 👍

Yeah, "they" also want ripple to open a Series C round of funding for actual equity.
But ripple may not ever "really" need it because of.... you guessed it. It starts with an X and ends in a P.

Ripple might make an acquisition by the end of the year.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple releases 333 million more Tokens on: May 15, 2017, 08:33:50 PM
you will all lose your money in this coin

Not all. Some People are in at $0.006

Nice try, but try again. This time dont generalize.

Remember, some people here aren't in this just to make money.

XRP can drop to $0.03 tomorrow, oh well.

It's funny seeing all these people hating on ripple for their own EPIC reasons. While others have sat quietly making 35x their money in the last 2 months.

All while ripple has distributed xrp openly going on 4 years now and people still say this is new.

So ripple selling/loaning hundreds of millions of XRP weekly at or around market price to institutions is a bad thing?
No, it's called demand.

At the same time, consumers all around the world are buying xrp at $0.25 thinking its cheap not knowing there is 99.9billion compared to max 21million btc.

It's not ripples fault these millenials would rather have a few thousand xrp that can be settled in seconds compared to 0.001 btc that has been stuck for last 48 hours.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple releases 333 million more Tokens on: May 07, 2017, 03:51:22 AM
Why do people like a coin that can just randomly put 333 million coins into circulation, raising the market cap substantially?
Crazy

where are you getting this information from? any links?

i see this..
