lets hope i will be next with my 1TH rig Tongue

At 5ph on the pool side that's a mighty small chance. Lol. I'm on there with 1.5Th myself though for a lottery.

i'm still here with my 450G from 3 S1s - i have already got a block once Wink its a 'luck' thing Wink size doesn't matter if you have luck on your side Cheesy

Lucky one:D  that kind of luck with current hashrate must be really unique  Wink
I have one S1 and one damaged S3, about 575 GH/s.
I'm here for about 3 months. I can wait another 9 Smiley.
Running on 3 s2 Smiley

Hi guys.

What is the best method of sweeping the paper wallet?

I don't want to use blockchains android app, what other ways can I withdraw from my bitaddress paper?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet

I've used mycelium a looong time ago, how is it nowadays? Which do you recommend?

Schildbach "bitcoin wallet" is nice because it connects directly to the bitcoin network.

Site back up for me.

As of this past Sunday, I was mining at an all time reward of about 105% compared to what I am calculated to mine based on my hash rate. This doesn't indicate profitability in and of itself, but it does mean I'm making slightly more than expected.

Note that this number is tracked since first week of July or so.

As for profitability vs. electrical cost, I guess the answer is if you can't get it here, you probably can't get it anywhere.

And no, this is not like a lottery pool. Ita just that on a smaller pool you have more variance. The longer you mine at any pool, the closer your rewards will trend towards that 100% value.

Block!?

I'd love to fire up the grill and grab some cold frosty beverages for a block party. Make it happen!

woohoo!  I found a block with a 10TH rental Smiley

Nice. Now let's hit some bright green!

I guess what I meant was, even a block is hit, does the window of time/shares/shifts that determines how the payout is split go all the way back 5x difficulty all the time or is that a maximum? I think it's all the time but I wanted to check.

A follow up is if "5x difficulty" is 5x the difficulty the block was hit at, the expected difficulty, or something else? Or is it calculated using shifts somehow?
All the time, and the network difficulty at the time the block is hit by using shifts.

OK thanks.

Edit: I see a lot of this is answered on the help page. Sorry for asking questions already answered. For some reason what is written there didn't exactly click for me, but I get it now.

N value crosses backwards over block boundaries right?
Yes the N boundaries are shift boundaries.

I guess what I meant was, when a block is hit, does the window of time/shares/shifts that determines how the payout is split go all the way back 5x difficulty all the time or is that a maximum? I think it's all the time but I wanted to check.

A follow up is if "5x difficulty" is 5x the difficulty the block was hit at, the expected difficulty, or something else? Or is it calculated using shifts somehow?

I was thinking there is a 500% "wide" window stretching back 500% from the time a block is hit (500% = 5x expected difficulty to solve block based on network difficulty), and that's the N shares, but I wanted to check if this is how it works. Wasn't sure if hitting a block at 50% meant the window was 250% back, for instance. Or if 500% was a Max value but the window only goes back to beginning of block.

Happy 1st birthday solo ckpool.

Unbelievably this pool has been up for a year already.
In that time, 90 blocks worth over half a million US dollars have been found and rewarded.

Thanks to all the people mining here.

Good luck and enjoy!

Congrats to 1EiApz3CQ7npCdd9Fp2Mue9PpX1vkvRZaW on finding us a block with 750 Ghs!    Cheesy

If that's accurate, it gives my solo miners a little hope!

... and I'll add ... also note that the rental site also gets paid no matter what happens.
The rental sites have no incentive to care either ...
The rental sites could keep statistical information to help with that ... ...

So you're saying there's a market for a trustworthy, transparent hash rental site?

After giving it more thought... Couldn't any pool be manipulated in a similar way?

Glad to find it, but i'm ready for some of that bright green luck again!

...taking advantage of the unaware purchaser...

Lots of different sectors of the economy rely on scarcity of information or unwillingness of consumers to shop around. Off the top of my head, I can think of auto mechanics (not all of them obviously, but $80+ for an oil change with an extra $80 on top to replace the cabin air filter after they show you the external "dirty" side of it is a common scheme among the "drive thru" style oil change and maintenance shops), most things related to home maintenance and improvement (windows, doors, HVAC equip, roofing, etc), medical care, etc. Basically anything you cannot easily and readily do a cost comparison of is an industry that (at least from a sales aspect) relies on scarcity of information.

Put differently, they rely on the laziness of the consumer.

Sidehack I really like everything you have done and am excited to see what you come up with in the future, but you gotta realize that the price of goods is equal to what people are willing to pay for them. Full stop.

Am I advocating people try to rip off unknowing consumers? No. but I'm also not advocating overt hand-holding for the sake of "fairness". There's an aspect of Darwinism at play here I guess is what I'm arguing. If someone wants to "get rich quick" on this "bitcoin thingy" and is too lazy to do their research, then maybe they didn't "deserve" (from a survival of the fittest standpoint, not from a morality or "fairness" standpoint) to be sitting on a bunch of cash to begin with.

All that being said, being a white knight and pointing out bad deals and attempting to educate consumers is fair game as well.

Of course it's bad for Bitcoin...

My own opinion is that Bitcoin shouldn't hamstring itself with a 1M block size limit.  On the other hand, Bitcoin should most definitely not hamstring itself by dissension leading to separate and incompatible blocks that cause a fork.

In any case, investors are going to get scared, and we're already seeing the effects as price has dumped 20% or more in the past 24 hours.

It's unclear if the existence of XT actually drove that though... If overall correctly there were several large margin calls that hit yesterday.
