Look at the similarities of how Duff__man posts some example work and Wulfcastle.
Your account is just 3 days old and still you claim to know whats going on here. THIS is way more suspicious than anything you accuse the dev of!

question on burst coin, if i am pltting across multiple computers do i need to start the plots at different points on each hard drive or can i start a 0 800k on each drive as long as they are on different computers?
Thanks!
For each one address you have to use non overlapped plots (you can check it here https://bchain.info/BURST/tools/overlap) Or it will be just a waste of time and hdd space. Even if they are on separate computers? Yes, same key/nonce = same deadline. You'd end up competing with yourself, wasting that space.

A few words everyone who reads this thread should be aware of:
There have been quite a lot of posts claiming negative things about this coin. Please do the research and check their accounts first. They have been doing this to other coins too, maybe to buy for cheap? Next check what they are claiming and if their sources are reliable - or they don't even have them. Its also interesting they appeared here right after it was listed on c-cex.
To sum it up: This is a new coin with a unique feature (POC), around for less than 2 weeks.
What we have: Working client - no forks, no major issues, working plot generator, some simple pool, an block explorer and so on.
Negatives you can PROOF? Nothing I know of!
So please don't sell your BURST too cheap to these people. They just want the quick money and don't even care about the MASSIVE amount of work that went into this coin.
So far the coin is evenly spread which is a good start. Just have some patience and let it develop.

Hey everyone
Could we pay Bittrex to add Burst? I saw recently that other coins paid a small fee to Bittrex for early listings. If this can be done I'll be willing to pay the fee.
C-cex has put us in an awkward position now, the problem is that we have too many miners willing to dump and too few investors. The only reason for the few investors is that, let's face it, C-cex is a dead exchange with almost no volume. Bittrex would bring more investors and more importantly more exposure to Burst
How much is that fee? I'm willing to add some BURST to it.

Just quit the terminal? Or should I write something like "stop" "pause" etc.? I started mining and I've got some errors: {"generationSignature":"ec8f7607670edbb3ff36d9f8fdd0860cff491b1bdf05e43845ea530f495d1999","baseTarget":"71509783","height":"2731"} Error reading file: 8145016451191472413_1_800000_2000 Error reading file: 8145016451191472413_1_800000_500
I stopped creating plots in this "500" file and it has only 24GB. Then I started creating plots in "2000" file, then started minig. You can ignore that error. The miner tries to read past the file limits - where you stopped plotting - but all nonces so far have been processed. If you plan on using 500GB or more for plot files consider a larger stagger size. With 500 it will cause lots of disk seeks.
|
|
|
Can I just make a pause in creating plots? And resume it later?
You can just abort it and use the so-far-plotted file. Later on start with a nonce above the first limit to be safe.

You forgot to quote me, just took a small piece out of context. Here's the rest:
"Did a little research on this coin this morning because there is no block explorer:
-Currently 39,640,000 coins -3,600,000 new coins being mined per day
Please correct me if I'm wrong. "
This has already been explained several times in this thread.

Good luck telling people 400 sats is crazy cheap and people are stupid to sell at that price.
You wont get a chance to buy cheap THAT easy
|
|
|
now burst are dumping fast, now you guys happy when investors saw they could buy at the lower price, they won't offer high price, just wait to see bottom of the burst. and will lead more and more miners dump so happy you are +1 Everytime I cannot understand why people are so ... don't know the right word.. What about "greedy"? They cant wait to see the coin grow, they need to make a few bucks, quick.

what is compression rate? Protip: Store your plots on BTRFS with LZO compression. Increases amount of plots you can save, and increases your r/w speed. My drive is rated for 150MB/s, and I can do 180 MB/s of /dev/urandom
Any form of compression create some form of overhead, usually. The theory of LZO compression and BTRFS sounds nice, but has this been proven in a real environment? Can't just doing a RAID0 on a GPT volume be even faster? As far as I can tell you can't directly see the ratio. However you can try and guess based off this info: user ~ burstcoin pocminer_pool_v1 plots du -sh 244G . user ~ burstcoin pocminer_pool_v1 plots df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda2 932G 338G 592G 37% / user ~ burstcoin pocminer_pool_v1 plots sudo btrfs filesystem df / Data, single: total=511.01GiB, used=336.45GiB System, DUP: total=8.00MiB, used=80.00KiB System, single: total=4.00MiB, used=0.00 Metadata, DUP: total=1.50GiB, used=553.58MiB Metadata, single: total=8.00MiB, used=0.00 unknown, single: total=192.00MiB, used=0.00 Your plot files are most likely broken - or you have lots of overlapping nonces. You cant compress plot files (some scoops excluded) in a way thats fast enough to decompress!

Good one For everyone else: This wont work!

Lot of crazy people who dump their coin for nothing! Don't you trust in this coin!? When we'll have some volume on a main exchange like bittrex the price will skyrocket.. That's the most innovative coin since months..
How can they sell the coin for 0.00000180 sat. Many shitcoins are clearly worth more but Burst is not a shitcoin it is an innovation Coin! Hold your Coins and stop the Dump! Totally agree with you. But why get mad? I just buy them silently for cheap. Problem solved.

Hey guys, need some clarification here. When mining, all the plot files you have are read in order to check for shares, right?
Would this not then be HDD-speed limited, as eg. my drive does 150 MB/s, or 36 GB/4 minutes ?
Only one scoop is read for every block, which is 1/4096th of all the data. Thats 244MB/TB of data

How long should it take to plot a single 3 TB plot on a 3-4 TB hard drive, using an i3-4130 cpu on 16 GB of RAM and Windows 7 64 bit?
Expect ~ 1 week

What do you mean increase heap space ? The Xmx parameter in .bat file ?
Yes. Give it 200M extra and you'll be fine.
|
|
|
It looks like the Java VM ran out of available memory to use. You must have mis-configured it to only use around 60% of available RAM instead of utilizing all available RAM. With that being said VM's require a lot of RAM to run intensive tasks, therefore I'd recommend adding more RAM to your setup, between 6GB-8GB and you should be fine.
If its too little system memory, the error looks like this: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: request <size> bytes for <reason>. Out of swap space? In his case its just Heap Space - increase it and its ok.

I have plot 1.6 TB My RAM is 3GB Memory usage fluctuate between 35-70%
Once a day i have this error and miner stop mining.

What can i do with this ?
increase -Xmx in your mine.bat/.sh a little

how can i see the max coin amount at the moment ?
Currently its 10k coins per block also, it seems that some people just sold into the buy orders that were there, which is always a bad Idea, but oh well what can we do? What we can do? Place low buy orders ourself
