sorry, I dont understand this I still have 0.01% of the total asset on the Nxt

You can't transfer the burst back to me ?

He lost a lot of BURST and now wants to buy them back with BTC, but cant cause the market is empty. Therefore the buyback-order where you can still get BTC.

How did he lost the coins?

I've sent 2'883.068 * 1000BURST assets (tx=2680958876512593946) instead of 2.883.

An other question

Can we run multiple miner on a computer (one for each disk), or only one miner and need to make a raid with disks?

One miner per disk is best in my opinion

I'm getting an error when running run_generate:

Any ideas?  I've tried lowering the amount of memory down to 500m, didn't do anything different than the 1000m I have it at now. Sad

With a stagger size of 8191 you need a lot more than 1000m. Either increase it to ~6000m or lower the stagger size.

Can I specify a folder to generate? for example another disk?

You can by running the plot-executable from another directory:

cd /mnt/disk
/home/me/plot 1234 0 10000 10000 8

places the plotfile to /mnt/disk

is this a acceptable speed, or do i loose too much by using vm?! threads running on i7@~3.9Ghz ...

Want to code somwething useful?  Code a program that will use GPUs to do the plotting.  I have a couple 280X's sitting around doing nothing.

You got the job.

Why only linux???

Se need windows too!!!!

I never developed for windows. We need someone to port them.

I have a few projects I'm working on at the moment. What would you like to see next?

The Miner rewritten in C
I have this already running for me, but lots of variables are coded statically into it. It needs almost no memory, is a lot faster and supports multiple plot-directories and threads. Would be Linux only again.

Graphs
https://bchain.info/BTC/diff
Here I offer a lot of graphs for Bitcoin. With some adjustments I can also add BURST.

The Overlap-Tool improved
With some server-assistance it could also show which plots found a block so far. Also it could show unused nonce-ranges.

i don't care what you can see in the screen , i am only interesting why you have no sense of shame

Hashes of Hashes of Hashes of Hashes of Hashes of ..., sliced and sorted and labeled.

how i can make more memory for plotting?

Increase your stagger size

where i can do this?

i use
./plot

./plot <key> <starting nonce> <nonces> <stagger size> <threads>

i use

./plot <key> <starting nonce> <nonces> 8191 <threads>

as i know 8191 is max limit

8191 was the limit for the java generator. With ./plot you can use more. Try 100000 for 32GB ram.

what is the difference between -Xmx2048M and -Xmx8192M? is there any impact to finding a block?

Its the maximum memory java can use. If you get "out of memory"-errors then increase it, otherwise it wont have any effect.

Nothing was changed in regards to getting wallet info, so there shouldn't be any difference. Did you change something in your config on 1.0.2 and not copy it over?

With 1.0.2 the results were:
{"result":"deadline: 18684"}

Now its:
{"result":"success","deadline":18684}

Just noticed, caused no problems  Wink

can be done with AWS on amazon
free for some gb and some hd space ?

It can, but AWS is expensive.

how much for the 1 tera?

24$/Month

A scaling factor is used and adjusted based on recent block times to attempt to get 4min/block. The difficulty used internally is (2^64)/scaling_factor. What is displayed in nrs info is cumulative difficulty(block 1 dif + block 2 dif + ... + block n dif).

A general difficulty -> TB amount could likely be found but I don't know it.

Just as a suggestion: Now we have to calculate the results as quick as possible as some deadlines are just a few seconds.

Why don't we just add some seconds to the deadline, just to give everyone enough time to finish processing?

And some blocks take too long. We can just add some math to reduce them!

Code:
Say: Actual deadline = (calculated_deadline ^ 0.8) + 120

10s => 126s
100s => 160s
240s => 200s
300s => 215s
1000s => 371s
3600s => 820s

This way we average at around 240s again, have some extra time for slow HDD/CPU's and avoid extra long block solving times.

If you like it I can do the math to get exactly back to 240s average.

I'm a big supporter of this coin, I've tweeted about burst lot of times, I've spoken about burst in every trollbox, I've written an italian guide to start mining and opened a thread in my language, I've mined them since launch when here was 4 a.m., I really love this coin..

But..

Now think about investors who want to buy this coin. They don't care if they are mined by HDD! Sure, it's amazing, but investors need only the coin on the exchanges. They will never mine this coin! They want some features that make a coin unique or with great potential! At the moment the dev is working on pool v2, but it's not a great innovation, it's just a pool! We need a roadmap with any sort of feature, something different from other coins, something new! Maybe the dev can ask to the community some help, in every way like developing, promotion, tests, but with 3'600'000 coin every day in the market, price will go down if this coin doesn't add some features! I'm active in helping new italian miners who want to start (that's the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=739507.0) but we need something more if we want to attract investors! I'm excited about a coin mined by HDD, I'm a miner too, but If I was an investor, a coin is a coin, when it's in my wallet! Even if it's mined whit an HDD! Multipool is a great idea, it can help to increase the price, but it isn't enough! We need something new, because this coin, after being mined, is a coin like 1000 others!  Wink

Well, investors don't need features. They need a coin that has potential for whatever reason. Bitcoin is bought - just because its bitcoin. Even Litecoins are still bought, just because they are lightcoins.
What makes this coin special? Its energy efficient AND you can mine it unlike POS coins. I bet the media will like it - unlike this greenhouse gas producing monster called Bitcoin.

ASIC's? Far out of reach - I did the math very carefully. You really have to buy HDD's to mine which results in about the same price for everyone. You see how well distributed the coin is already?

100% agree on the exchanges.

Ok so I was assuming the plot merger combines the separate plot files (ex. 0-100000, 100000-200000, etc.) into one big plot file. Am I wrong?

The plot merger only optimizes the internal structure inside a plot file. This improves speed a lot more than reducing the number of plot files

How does one use the plot merger?

You compile it start with the input plot as parameter.

Code:
./merge plots/1234578326_1234_12340_1234

the merged plot is written to the current directory. You just need to delete the input file and copy the merged one to plots
