one question....
I have made a ton of different plots, and I want to be able to keep adding more, however, I didn't keep that great of track (and by that I mean I didn't keep track at all, lol) of where I had started each plot, and I have a pretty large disaster of plots going on over here, I know that none of them overlap right now, but if I keep adding 3-4 TB a week like I plan, I will eventually have to add more plots on more non-overlapping numbers...
my question being... How many digits can you go up to on the starting number for plotting??? I have done as high as 8880000000_(x)_(x)
but... how high can you actually go? Can I start at something like 888000888000888000888? If so then I don't have to figure out my mess, I can keep adding zeros... lol...
If I have a limit, then I will have to figure out my mess of plots and where the free space is.
Thanks!
There's a 64 bit limit on nonces. Why dont you just start with 2.000.000.000 and go up from there?

dcct, did you get my last message?
I have a dedicated miner here at work that runs 24/7 and was gonna move the drive to it. I did the plotting on the computer at home because it has a LOT faster CPU in it and got the 2tb done probably days before the computer here would've. So i would like to move the drive to there but am having issues with moving the drive to other computers because the wallet will not open unless i copy over it. This one? You just need a client running there. You could as well install a new one and use it just for mining. Moving the plots over should be no problem.

I don't have to say anything to this, just read my past post and think about it for a while.
Is this your way of saying "I have no more arguments left"?

getting this when build on cygwin, any clu? shabal.s:57: Error: junk at end of line, first unrecognized character is `s'
I've never worked with cygwin. shabal.s is Assembler code, maybe you need to compile it separately?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Javahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_securityhttps://www.google.com/search?q=Java+insecurityThe Java platform provides a security architecture[30] which is designed to allow the user to run untrusted bytecode in a "sandboxed" manner to protect against malicious or poorly written software. This "sandboxing" feature is intended to protect the user by restricting access to certain platform features and APIs which could be exploited by malware, such as accessing the local filesystem, running arbitrary commands, or accessing communication networks.
If there is a 0-day exploit in the sandboxing code again then all your source codes are fucked. Centralization in a codeing language is the most retarded idea i've ever seen. I was talking about relevant issues. Burstcoin does not run any untrusted bytecode. And where's the advantage of C/C++ there? They offer no/less protection when running untrusted code Memory requirement? Sure, java needs more memory. Speed? Java is slower most of the time. But for security I don't see any issues here.
The language Java has design faults. Not your coded C plot generator.
Sure! What Java design faults - that are relevant to burst - are you talking about? Is it possible to take the 2tb Ext drive i have to another PC to let it mine after it plots without affecting the current blocks i have mined? Sure. Just choose a start nonce thats above all your other plots. They don't need to be in order - just make sure they don't overlap.
why there is still no source for this?
There is, for everything. Right in the OP.
Yep, thats why i wait for a coin like burst in C/C++ Java is not made for currency's and is likely to be exploited because of design errors.
What "design errors" are you talking about? Proof your point! This plot generator is just optimized for speed. The client itself does not need to be. windows version? Read the post!

I like to announce: The Plot-generator rewritten in C! It has several advantages over the one written in Java: - About twice as fast- Support for larger stagger sizes, only limited by system memory - More efficient memory handling. With just 3GB you can use Stagger size 8191, with 8GB 24000 is possible. Plots with larger stagger sizes are better, as they require less disk seeks to be read. You need a 64bit Linux environment to run this. Maybe someone can port it to Windows? How to run it: Download, unpack (tar -xzf plotgenerator.tgz), compile (make) Then use the same command line options as with the Java-generator: ./plot <key> <starting nonce> <nonces> <stagger size> <threads> You can download it here: https://bchain.info/plotgenerator.tgz

Just tell us what's the use of BURST.
You tell me first why you are ONLY posting FUD in here. If you don't like this coin you could just leave it alone, but you don't. Hmmm
I don't think BURST is of any pratical use
Hehe give it up. WE are buying the cheap BURST, no matter how much you FUD here.

what is mlink? how can link plots? say I have two hard drives, D:\ and E:\
I have created plots on D:\ and running run_mine.bat on the D:\ drive
Now I start creating plots on the E:\ drive, do I need to start another instance of the run_mine.bat from the E:\ drive or will the one instance mine on both hard drives at once?
You should start another instance of run_mine.bat on E:. Another solution is to make a link (mklink) This has been explained several times in this thread. But running 2 instances is the better solution anyway.

The problem with data storage, is with the current system, anyone can generate the same plot given the address/nonce combination stored in the blockchain to verify things, but if you try to do data storage, not everyone can store a copy of all the data.
- personally I was sure, that deleloper has designed that even before the start... Noone needs to store a copy of all the data! The only disadvantage of this is it takes a little longer to verify the blockchain, compared to BTC/NXT.

Anyone having issues with c-cex loading up properly, prices and buy/sell columns not loading? All other exchange run fine when I use them. ie. Poloniex, BTER, BTC38, Cryptsy, Mintpal, etc...
Same here, they dont show up until you login.

wow, the trades on the AE, I am definitely placing some buy orders. Just need to acquire some NXT. Same here. This is a great deal.
hmm... somethink wronge with NXT assets_exchange Some one dump 28000000 coins in last 2-3 hours. At this moment ALL coins only 47 M How can it be?
Do the math again. 28M coins is just plain wrong
I can't believe! If you buy now on the nxt asset exhchange this:
NXT-7G7H-BE28-B967-FTBWW 301.168 10 3,011.68
You can dump them on c-cex for double price..
Looks like someone dosnt know what hes doing there.
