Hello guys, i'll update soon! It passed more than a year and the miner has continued working almost endlessly, maybe someone is interested in the results and statistics!


I had already the raspberry around so i didn't have to buy it, anyways i paid 30$ for it more than two years ago. The USB miner costed 13$ so in total i spent 43$ for this set up! It took a really little time to st up, i just installed Minepeon which is perfect for mining with the Pi, and then started mining. It took less than an hour

Someone can suggest me how can i find out how much i spent in energy with my Pi so i can create useful statistics?

Complimenti per il manualetto! Se mi capita lo leggo. Onestamente non saprei quanto ho speso.. ma calcola che l'unica cosa che gira è il Raspberry e la singola Antminer U2.

Cosa intendi per decay time? Nel senso che dopo poco cominciano a rendere meno? D:

Little backstory: The Pi has seen better times to be honest. I used it as a media center until last year, when a friend of mine spilled a whole load of lurid bong water (lol, yes.) over the RPi while it was running and light on. I don't know why but the Pi survived and i had it laying around until i decided to turn it into this project , i cleaned the Plexiglas case and the Pi the best i could .

Si, lo so che sono superate da molto... è appunto un'esperimento. Considerando il costo dell'S3 mi ci butterei solo se fossi veramente convinto di voler minare.. .

Ultimamente mi sono interessato al mining e siccome avevo un Raspberry Pi in giro che non utilizzavo ho pensato di adoperarlo proprio per questo! Mi sono informato, ho scoperto le chiavette USB e mi sono innamorato.

Non lo faccio per il profitto o cose simile, è puramente un hobby e in più sono contento del fatto che facendo girare l'hardware comunque si aiuta l'intero network tenendolo sano!

Pensavo di tenere il thread ed aggiornarlo ogni volta che modifico qualcosa nel rig per minare, per ora ho solo una singola chiavetta USB Antimenr U2 da 2 Gh/s, ma il mio piano è di aggiungerne sempre di più!

Hello! I've been reading about mining and i really wanted to try it out, not for profit reasons but as an hobby and obviously to help the network  

Finally two days ago my setup got completed and now everything is running fine. I wanted to open a thread and keep it updated whenever i change something on my "mining rig"  

Now, the rig fits only a single USB Miner, an Antminer U2 that's mining ~2Gh/s at the moment. I'm planning on adding more miners as soon as i have money to throw on it!
