41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bter.com is a scam on: January 16, 2016, 01:40:46 PM
I have ~120 US$ trapped in bter, tried to withdraw ~5 LTC last Monday which are now in state "Waiting for balance" (whatever that means) since then. My second support ticket was answered with the below canned response:
Quote
Dear Sir,
We are so sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our dev team is working on it.
Thanks for your patience

That was two days ago and I haven't heard back on my follow-up asking on an ETA for having LTC (or any withdrawals) working again.

When these signs showed in November last year with Cryptsy I could get most of my funds out over the next days, but I fear this time I will take a loss.

In any case, I would strongly advice you not to deposit any coins to bter as they seem to have very serious problems and it is doubtful if you ever get anything out there.

Naturally I will update this post, should I - against all my expectations - get any of my coins back from bter.
Their support is pretty slow now comparing a year ago when they were very fast and they are not refunding us.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin client are you going to be using? on: January 16, 2016, 01:30:00 PM
I'm a little confused about what is going on with Bitcoin, so I wanted to get an idea if any of these other clients have a decent following.

Here are the links to the various projects.

Bitcoin Core
https://bitcoin.org/en/

Bitcoin XT
https://bitcoinxt.software/

Bitcoin Classic
https://bitcoinclassic.com/

Bitcoin Unlimited
http://www.bitcoinunlimited.info/

-dts-

I am not using any of them but if i would use i would go with Bitcoin Core
43  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 1000$ in 2016 on: January 14, 2016, 10:08:24 PM
I have a feeling that this target can be reached before the halving period when people will try to buy lots of bitcoin which means that the price would be increased.
44  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SMS VERIFICATION needed now!!! on: January 14, 2016, 09:43:53 PM

45  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: January 14, 2016, 09:41:06 PM
We are going to see at least $5k for each Bitcoin. There will be a sudden increase and many day time traders will not have time to grab. Those who are holding will take benefit of this increase in 2016.
Being honest $5k is too far to be reached this year, the maximum i think would be somewhere at $600 - $700
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [poll] What do you currently use Bitcoin for? on: January 14, 2016, 09:25:36 PM
I am using as a currency but also as a mid-long term investment, whenever i get a change i will sell the bitcoin for a good profit, currently just holding.
47  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bter.com is a scam on: January 14, 2016, 09:22:03 PM
Been waiting for my 43,000 nxt to show up since I made a deposit 10 days ago one reply from email after several tickets and no solution looks like game over bter
I am waiting almost a year for my BTC_B balance to be returned to BTC balance, this is really bad for an exchange like bter, has anyone any info when is the next batch or repayment?

49  Other / Archival / Re: should i save btc for future? on: January 14, 2016, 09:11:26 PM
Most of people that i know are holding bitcoins for the near future, maybe until the halving period and people will start selling them(which affects directly the price if more people sell at the same time)
50  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: January 14, 2016, 09:10:25 PM
These days the price of bitcoin is decreasing so i think that it's a good time to invest a little bit in bitcoin, depending on your interest in bitcoin 1BTC should be enough for starting.
51  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to send Bitcoin to a credit card on: January 14, 2016, 09:07:16 PM
There are many services that offer what you are looking for, the best is getting the debit card from these services(xapo or e-coin) and then fund the wallet with bitcoin and spend it.
52  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SMS VERIFICATION needed now!!! on: January 14, 2016, 08:58:25 PM

53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: January 14, 2016, 08:51:59 PM
Even Wester Union is not instant as i know as it needs some minutes to be available on the other side to pick up the cash, but bitcoin sometimes it's better because of low fees (if you use higher fees the tx will get confirmed within 10-20min)
54  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS 500EURO ARGOS GIFT CODE escrow welcome on: January 14, 2016, 08:43:02 PM
250euros for it
Can you give more information about this Gift card, how did you get it, do you have a receipt of it, is it virtual or physical gift card etc.
55  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: January 14, 2016, 08:41:27 PM
I don't think it will be good to sell below $400

If you need fiat and are able to take some profits out of it then yes, maybe

If there's no need for you to spend it, just hold, if you can, you could buy right now
I think that even selling now it's not recommended (if you planned to get a good profit) as the price can be increased in upcoming months.
56  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: January 14, 2016, 08:35:33 PM
my worst mistake was investing big amount of btc in cloud-mining sites, unfortunately everyone throw me, but ore-mine.org
I did the same thing before, i lost a lot even though i tried to cover a small part of loss, people are also accusing oremine as a ponzi so everyone should be careful.
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen with the Bitcoin price after the halving on 07-17-2016? on: January 14, 2016, 08:31:05 PM
Saying the truth I'm a bit afraid that the price will go down like the litecoin at theirs last halving period  but it should grow after few weeks or months.

Can't really compare with other alternate coin.. as bitcoin is the best and more commonly used... just by look at their value and price.. is a different already.
You will see how many people will be interested to buy bitcoin a week or a month before the halving, at that time i expect an increase of bitcoin value then a crash at halving and probably an increase again after it.
58  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: January 14, 2016, 08:28:23 PM
Why everything, i don't think that someone needs to sell everything, this is going in extreme, what if bitcoins crashed what will you do?, sell a part 50% max of the total budget for anyone that planned to invest.
59  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Free Satoshi Wallpaper!! on: January 14, 2016, 08:13:38 PM
I would better use this wallpaper as a T-shirt design rather than desktop wallpaper, it looks good Smiley

I see they already have it, looks good for $28
http://procrypto.net/product/whoisnakamoto-men-tshirt-mint/
Exactly this is what i was looking for, thanks for sharing with us, OP you should promote this T-shirt it looks really good.
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How many people buy or sell Bitcoin locally on: January 14, 2016, 08:09:33 PM
It  looks as if buying Bitcoin over the net is fraught with risks, and reputable traders seem to have wide spreads. The obvious solution would be to buy Bitcoin through a local face-to-face contact. Have any members of this forum done this?
It depends on which country/state you live because in most of the countries bitcoin is free to use and trade, i have sold too.
