If somebody could get their hands on a 60's era ammonia based a/c, you might get enough heat outta one of these miners to run it. Roll Eyes

it will get goo much heat! it is necessary an refrigerant with boiling point higher than ammonia! and using the same principle of refrigeration cycle!

lucky man! congratz 1H5xxxxxxxxxxxxx
943  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 0 electricity and ISP costs, large facility paid for. Is mining still lucrative? on: May 16, 2015, 04:16:21 AM
much better: compare sp3x with any other same size(2u) unit in a normal data centre!!!
944  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: May 16, 2015, 03:47:43 AM
I was looking to find a way to drop the temp of my setup and I was looking to put my S5 and S3 upside down and add a stove hood on top of it. Then blow the air out.

The S5 is one of the worst on heat.  In this area i have 2 sp20's, 1 SP5, 2 S4's, 1 Dragon 1.5 and the hottest by a decent amount is the S5.

if you compare them by their own sensors, then the comparation is like between apples and bananas Cheesy

Asic data centers vs regular data center's just are a huge difference in cooling.  Servers don't require near what asics do.

What makes you say this? A Datacenter that uses 1MW of power for work will also produce 1MW of heat no matter how the electricity flows.

EDIT: Narrowed down for you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_law_of_thermodynamics

miner farms are much much power concentrated, power hungry than normal data centre!
a miner doesn't have a harddrives or a video card, riser cards, etc....

948  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 4x Spondoolies Sp20 swap against Avalon 4.1 miner? on: May 14, 2015, 11:00:23 AM
I might be better off with that..
It's mainly the noise why I want to swap them as my electricity is free.

go for:
Fan Speed    10
Start Voltage    0.635 / 0.635 / 0.635 / 0.635
Max Voltage    0.64

with the above voltage settings, i got the fan reported at 6%, it's on auto and ambient temps ~23C
949  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 2x Asicminer Tubes and 2x Antminer C1s on: May 14, 2015, 07:17:37 AM
I also have 2 Antminer C1s that I am selling together. 1 is fully functional, but the other has only 3 working blades. Two radiators and all fittings are included. A 500L/H pump (never used) with integrated reservoir is also included. Tubing and coolant will not be included. Asking $250 plus shipping

so there is only 1 pump, no tubing, no liquid and 1board broken?

any voltage settings for 200mhz or somewhere around this number?

is it normal for some asics to drop off, to come back, or to be at half wattage? Embarrassed

thx!

If the cubes that are behaving this way are all connected to one power supply, it might be an indication that the power supply is almost dead. It happened to me twice with Lepa 1600 power supplies after powering 3 cubes each for about 9 months. Those Lepa 1600's are junk. I was only using 1200W evenly balanced across 3 power rails.

yes, 1 psu. actually 2 different dps2000bb.......>160A on a single 12v rail.... sucked close to 2400w on this psu with 2 sp20

lepa is 30a on rails 3, 4, 5 and 6. 30a*12v=360w and the cubes are closer to 400w than 360w.....

i don't think the psus are the problem

i'm curious how many wb i can make with 1400...

i can buy cooper sheets 5mm thick, i can  make the channels or look for a cnc
braze it and test it at above 200psi!

1k for a sheet of 1m*2m*5cm 90kg....

Get it in 10mm sheet, then you can sandwich two halves together with a basic gasket in the middle. Route / drill a channel into each half and you've got yourself a block.

You only need half the block to be copper, the part touching the chips, the other half can be acetal, either clear or black.

His intention wasn't to get cooling improvements from the copper, it was to make the channel in contact with the fluid be copper / not aluminium.

da fuck are u talking about!!!

i just want to plug the miner on my mains and dump the water in a swimming pool!

alu will complicate things with the need for a heat exchanger, pump and radiator just to be safe

i need it in cooper so it doesn’t get more complicated with heat exchangers extra pumps and shit

interested! in a cooper one, not alu!

cooper more resistant in time
big rads are cooper because of the above
