61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SMLY- smileycoin - for rewards in education on: May 09, 2018, 09:36:15 AM
Sounds like a decent idea, but please consider a fund to pay for development.  Exchanges want there to always be a developer that they can speak to.
How about just having the rules include a clause where a specific percentage of the fund can be used for development?

This is already in the rules guiding the premine.

Of course we could also split this into two distinct funds, e.g. based on the split to date or some specified percentage. I'm not convinced we'd gain much though.

Ah OK, sounds like it's already sorted then  Grin

We need your feedback on an idea...

You all know that there is a fundamental problem with a coin having a large premine - as the SMLY does. The problem is one of trust: Why would anyone trust those who hold the key(s) to the premine? This kind of trust is a bit of a contradiction to the basic POW&blockchain methodology, which is inherently trustless.

An idea was put forward today, which may alleviate this:

We can transfer the entire premine into a formal fund with an oversight committee (council/board/whatever). This board will operate under a specific set of rules, similar to the rules laid out on smileyco.in but more specific and a bit more like legalese. The board will transfer funds to the tutor-web wallet or other targets, in accordance with the rules and will do this by using the multi-signature features in the wallet. So if the board has 5 members, it will require at least 3 signatures to release funds.

The premine as such will cease to exist. Instead there will be a SMLY educational fund governed by a board.

Sounds like a decent idea, but please consider a fund to pay for development.  Exchanges want there to always be a developer that they can speak to.

So it looks like I pretty much have to run it from the command line?

How do I go about encrypting my wallet with a password, then backing it up, then making a receiving address?

No, there is a GUI wallet available. Just check the website and download the newest version.

You can do anything from above with the GUI.

I see... I need to click on '32-bit wallet' to get intensecoin-gui-win64-v201.zip.

An update on my situation:

I actually did manage to sign a message using MyEtherWallet offline.  Even though the link at the bottom of index.html tries to take me online, there is another HTML file called signmsg.html which works fine!  It was just a matter of opening the HTML file directly.

c-cex is sending general threats again:

One of our goals is to keep only coins needed for trading. We are changing delisting rules. We will not uncheck delisting mark automatically if coin gain enough daily volume after removal announce. This will stop speculations to keep coin here. Once announced - will be removed.

Do we care? Should we just ignore them? We have plenty of other exchanges now...

I notice in the C-Cex terms that they now require 0.5 BTC daily volume, and there's no warning if you fall too low.  Seems a bit difficult for SMLY to achieve.
72  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinsMarkets.com IS DOWN! on: April 13, 2018, 12:44:08 AM
The only thing they are "trying" is play for time. They used customer funds for speculation and then the market broke down.

Now they only release worthless shitcoins without any value to remain in business eventually and see the market recover.

Coinsmarkets was probably not a scam from beginning, they however tapped into funds not belonging to them to make a fast buck, lost the money, and now they are a scam.

Are you just speculating? Or do you have some valid information you would like to share with the rest of us? It is not unlikely, what you propose, but at this point there is no evidence for this whatsoever. But feel free to provide it.

I would not bother trying to raise the volume on C-Cex.

yes because you need it online(if you are using MyEtherWallet).
it is very easy to sign the message because you are only need to go here:
https://www.myetherwallet.com/signmsg.html
insert your private key on it and fill the form.

Note : Make sure you are using an official one, because there are a lot of phising website out there imposing the official.
always check the SSL before importing your private key.

MEW tell me I should use their site offline.  Why are you pushing me to use it online?

LCS,TGAO,MIC3,BIO,GCH,SEO,BITCAPS,DOGIT,DLISK,XMAS,MLC,SPERO,OILMiner,STC,XCN,JOY,AIB,TRBO,TST,BHS are enabled for withdraw , More coins will follow .

 Huh Huh Huh

LOL

Want to take bets on the probability of them ever allowing btc withdrawals?  Grin

I've got a few hundred thousand COLX on there that I've washed my hands of . . if I can get my COLX and BTC back, cool. But I don't expect anything at this point.

"BTC", never heard of that one.  Obviously getting major coins like SPERO and DOGIT working should be top priority.

Why does the website want me to download the 0.0.2 wallet for Windows?  I thought that 0.9.2 was out...  Huh

I use MyEtherWallet offline (locally downloaded version) but I'm not sure how to sign a message doing that.  Clicking the 'sign message' link at the base of the MEW page tries to take me to the MEW website  Embarrassed

Hi devs~

Are you still around?  The wallet keeps getting stuck while syncing on Windows 7.  Try it and see!

Well, I got it synced using the bootstrap file, but it's a red flag that it won't sync naturally.  Sad
