201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Country rankings in "Bitcoin friendliness" on: July 09, 2023, 09:03:15 AM
This could be interesting project and will give clear idea about country and their approaches. I think we will need to plot the specific criteria which will define who should be better than the other one. Let us say adoption status, legality status in the country, number of users, generated address, bitcoin ATM, exchangers volume for that particular country. These could form the basic structure for this purpose and can end up having this compilation as mentioned in the OP. I might do this because it seems very good idea. More data can be think about but will need to search over the web for the same. What do you guys think about such idea?
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think at some point government will change its stand and adopt Bitcoin? on: July 09, 2023, 07:41:36 AM
Ohh think government will always stay negative when it comes to Bitcoin adoption. The issue is not with the government but it’s behind the tech it use which is decentralised. As the CEO mentioned it’s all about that dilemma where some people are using it genuinely while some of them are misusing the bitcoin for money laundering purposes. I don’t know to what extent this fact can be proven but that’s what making regulatory bodies like SEC to rethink about Bitcoins nature. Till date there is no solid stance whether Bitcoin is asset, commodity, security or something else. Unless and until there is no provision to define this we will never be sure about the Bitcoin being accepted by Government at all.
203  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is better to invest in copy trading or bot on: July 09, 2023, 07:08:29 AM
I would say just hold your 4K bitcoin because that’s pretty good amount if you look by the perspective of % gain over the period of time. As you know yearly hikes for the bitcoin could range from 50-200% or more. May be more I think because we have seen miraculous price hikes for a period of the one year or so. I think best advisable thing is to hold only. You will end up in unsecured investment if you do it on the bots. They are not sure shot way of making proper trades. They are sometimes just product which are getting sold in the name of making profits for you. So just be cautious while taking all the decisions.
204  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Emission Intensity has a New All Time Low? on: July 07, 2023, 04:45:09 PM
Wow that is surprising. How come it is reducing if the mining operations are getting more and more difficult and also at the same time various mining farm companies are getting established over the period of time.
The "emission intensity" figure is not to be confused with "total CO2 emissions". It's the CO2 emissions per kWh used. What happened in the last years is that mining grew in TWh (with a temporary decrease after China's "mining ban") but the proportion of renewables and nuclear energy increased.

As the above source shows, a large part of this development is related to the US has replaced China the main mining location, and the US has a higher proportion of both renewable and nuclear energy (with low CO2 emissions) than the regions in China where most mining farms were located before. The "emission intensity" figure will continue to decrease if the renewables+nuclear proportion grows. Nuclear is actually stagnant or even decreasing a little bit, but the growth of renewables is high enough to compensate that. Also the "Kazakhstan exodus" is cited, Kazakhstan had also a very high proportion of coal energy, but mining has largely exited the country in the last year.

Oh thanks for the clarification. That makes sense in the terminology now. Since after reading the OP anyone with little technical background in the field would get confused about the ratio of total CO2 emissions and the speed at which mining farms are getting established all over the globe. So we consider this as best example to explain to the world why we should create more green field projects where everything runs on the solar power, wind energy or nuclear power for that matter. It is really surprising to see how things are picking up in the field of green energy and there immediate effect on the Bitcoin Mining and it's allegations. We can assume that this proportion will keep growing over the period of time and there will be UNO reverse card for the pollution Vs mining of bitcoin around the world.  Cheesy
205  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Recurring payments in Bitcoin wallets using timelocked transactions. on: July 07, 2023, 04:01:51 PM
How will changes in fees be accounted for if it is done automatically?
At the time of creating the transaction the feerate averagely accepted by miners could be very different to the one at the time of broadcast. I will not want to overpay by a wide margin to accommodate for changes in the mempool and I will not want to underpay and not have my transaction added to any block.

- Jay -

Since the transactions for future payments are timelocked but cannot be broadcasted yet, it is trivial to change the fee: just periodically recreate the recurring transaction chain every week or so, and the wallet software should be intelligent enough to get the current fee estimates for that day, for example from an Electrum server or even possibly from Blockchain.info or Blockchair.

First when I read the OP I was excited enough to see where it goes but after noticing the foreseen problems like fees and everything it seems to be hectic to implement in the real world. Jay has got point actually. Whenever you will be broadcast based on the "block" in which your transaction shall be included can give us timelock transaction but nobody thought about the bumped fees.

If I am supposed to do the manual override of the transaction every week or so, then it's pointless to have future subscription because I would simply broadcast the transaction on the day my subscription is due, manually.

Instead there should be auto debit of the fees. Like when we broadcast the transaction it will include the fees along with it. Instead of that, a code should be written which will just withdraw the fees automatically from the "subwallet" or some other ways and then broadcast it automatically.

If there is not enough balance at the time of broadcasting, it would simply cancel it.
206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The reason of why Bitcoin is good for trading (for me) on: July 07, 2023, 02:07:00 PM
First of all I'm not a real trader, but I like to trade to earn small amount profit.

I only use BTC/USDT pair because USDT make me easier to determine how much my coins worth after trade and most liquid stable coin, the reason why I choose BTC is I don't need to worry about it when my trading goes wrong. So if I bought Bitcoin at the peak and the price keep decreasing, I will not sell it, but I will wait for the next super cycle where Bitcoin usually break new ATH.

Keep in mind I never learn about chart, candlestick, trend etc, all of my decision come from my mood and instinct. No stop limit, no follow any signal, no watching my PC for 24/7 etc, just directly buy and sell.

Is there anyone like me here? Cheesy

Yeah funny, I used to be like this long time ago but not anymore. I have told myself that Trading is not my thing anymore and I am better off with the Hodl of bitcoin. For this very reason whatever I am buying these days goes straight into my hardware or paper wallet and I am more than happy to hodl it like that. As you mentioned, when you lose your money on trading pair, all you do is hodl your bitcoin and don't sell them until the price bounce back. In my case I am just skipping all the trading buzz and going for buy and store it. :-)

I also tried to learn the trading a lot but failed every time and each time. I am not saying I made zero profits, but I made more when I am just doing dollar cost averaging. This has lot more impact as compared to wasting my time on TA and understanding the future pattern etc.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whales took high risks, while studying price movement in the past on: July 07, 2023, 01:25:42 PM
Dan was really good man. He had it straight and wanted everyone to be involved because he saw great opportunities in the Bitcoin already. I can see already how he might have been in his cabin, looking at the bitcoin prices and seeing it’s price is too high (at that time) but yet he went into it anyhow. That’s the courage he had which we don’t see in any investors these days.

If there is any opportunity today then it’s just anytime now. The more we wait the more we are going to miss it all the time. Whether it is Dan’s $65 per bitcoin back in time or whether it is $30k in today’s date it’s anyway matches the economic growth.

Just keep buying guys and HODL.
208  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow vs Electrum for desktop on: July 07, 2023, 12:20:16 PM
Can you elaborate though? Is it better (and for what reason), to run Electrum Server upon your node, instead of connecting Sparrow to your node?
No, it's no better or worse. In both cases, all your data will come from your own node rather than that of a third party, and so your privacy will be maintained. If you already have an Electrum server set up, then no reason not to use it.

There are actually too many people that used to use Electrum since it was released and haven't switched to any other alternative. That's what made me curious.
If you are already familiar with Electrum and already have a server set up, then I see no reason to change unless you wanted to use Whirlpool.

It seems I will be better using any of the wallet considering my recent break down with the Mycelium wallet for iOS. It was completely troubling to set up that wallet on iOS since it’s missing few pieces which help us import our back up and/or imported addresses. It’s far better I either keep using hardware wallet or simply get new one like electrum and sparrow.

I will see how it goes with the set up on laptop and doesn’t have lengthy process of set up. :-)

The only thing I need to know is how much space these guys will take up? Is it gonna be entire blockchain that will get synchronised taking up entire disk on my lappy?
209  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Where is Import option for Mycelium Wallet - iOS version on: July 06, 2023, 02:56:17 PM
100% concur on this... DO NOT use the IOS mycelium wallet. It's pretty much "broken" at this point.

Yeah it’s getting on my nerves now. I have created paper wallet which I wanted to import into the mycelium but it seems iOS is literally broken. How could their developers be so lazy and not to add that feature. I’m pretty sure there are numerous ios users too who must be thinking what they have coded? Funny eh?

I think I am better off with the paper wallet and other Back up address I will import over electrum now. I see that there are some suggestions like sparrow and trust wallet which I can use. Definitely I will need to go for desktop application rather than mobile one.

My goal was to have some funds in mobile wallet for easy spending. Hmm mycelium need to work hard.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stay updated on: July 06, 2023, 02:07:34 PM
Honestly if you have started to take the interest just now then you should give more time before you can understand the game. I used to be like this before, whenever someone used to start talking about some games then I was like feeling enthusiastic and motivated about that game but in reality that’s just good hormones pumping when you are around that game enthusiast. It does not mean you can start understanding the game right away and be master of it. Everything starts with basics. You should know the game basics itself, how it is played, how the points are calculated and much more. Then one should start learning about the players and how they did in the past and much more. Then start betting on that game. Smiley
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Education and money as the key to Bitcoin adoption. on: July 06, 2023, 01:30:11 PM
Bitcoin is already published to most of the corner of world. Imagine there was time when nobody actually knew about the Bitcoin however suddenly there are various news about the crypto institutions up rising everywhere, banks getting involved with Bitcoin directly, countries becoming epicenter of the bitcoin, some of them are even trying to be Bitcoin Hub. Not just that, Bitcoin even getting in the news in negative way with court cases, filings, fraud news about the money laundering, criminal cases rising, public lootings of Bitcoin from the owners and what not.

I am not sure if this is not the publicity and enough get to know dram for Bitcoin then what is?

I am not saying education is not mandatory, but just to know that Bitcoin exist we already have plenty of mediums who are letting the world know about it. With the time this is even going crazy as the exchanges are getting flattered with SEC and CBDC drama, strict regulations and what not.

Bitcoin needs to be adopted naturally and not by force. Today's generation will surely get into it, but they can't be forced to do it.
212  Economy / Economics / Re: The new U.S.-China agreement is a "forced friendship. What awaits the world ? on: July 06, 2023, 12:31:27 PM
Like it or not, China has begun to change its rhetoric and OFFICIAL POSITION in a big way.
Brussels, Belgium. China's representative to the European Union said that Beijing has nothing against Ukraine's desire to restore its territorial integrity to its 1991 borders, including Crimea, the peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014.
In a recent interview with Al Jazeera and two other media outlets, when asked about Fu Kong's support for Kiev's goals, including the return of other Ukrainian regions now occupied by Russia, the senior Chinese diplomat said: "I don't see why not.

Judging by China's sharply changed rhetoric, Putin is already a downed pilot for Beijing ....

Probably because China has recognized the fact that its economy's growth can't be sustained without the U.S. and its allies. Economic prosperity for them should also mean economic prosperity for the West because who are among the largest consumers of Chinese exports? THE WEST! China's domestic demand definitely can't support their economy.

China is getting desperate and they need the West to pivot to QE, but it will continue to tighten as long as inflation is high, unemployment is low, and as long as markets don't crash.

I am not sure if China has such intentions or not because the way they are acting against America or were acting against America last year, I believe this is not the right way to think about it. As mentioned in former post Putin is also another factor that can create conflict in this friendship for sure. I mean it will either create conflict between Russia China relations, OR may be China America relation. How can they be allies together if one is enemy of the other and their friend is moving towards the enemy isn't good in the diplomatic relationship in the future.

This type of agreements were never good in the past so I am not sure if they would be in the future too?

They will depend on each other for the supply chain of various things but they won't have country-country relations for the good.
213  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we improve our country's economy by on culture or ecosystem? on: July 06, 2023, 11:10:22 AM
That’s very educating article you have written. I always keep telling myself the only way to earn more save more is through proper education on how to “manage the income”. Obviously if I am capable of doing it then I would promote myself to new levels of monetary savings.m which will ultimately help the country to grow. Well if I’m managing properly then I am also paying my taxes on time, I would be making more progress every year and thus more contribution towards the taxation as well. Definitely agree to entire article. I won’t go much in the technical analysis because that is different part of investment or rather way of earning money.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 05, 2023, 05:20:57 PM
I am not quitting gambling because I am simply not addicted to it. If someone is going far from the base to quit the gambling then there is definitely something wrong with their routine when it comes to gambling. Only addicted person need to quit the gambling. I am fun taker, I love gambling because I love to play slots, I love to play the poker on Friday night with my friends and much more. It is not all about money all the time. Yes these games are played with money and that’s where we gamble everything.  Sometimes it’s winning and sometimes it’s loosing. I think both ways shall be accepted by true gambler. No need to go that far and just quit such thrilling side of the games.  Wink
215  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Not Just Buy BTC? on: July 05, 2023, 04:35:47 PM
I've seen over one dozen websites believing that BTC will skyrocket in the upcoming years.
The platform I use is Coinbase.
I'm thinking of just buying BTC-USD and just leaving it be.
Any thoughts on this strategy?

It is dream of true Bitcoiner who wants to just hold their bitcoin see them grow eventually into thousands to millions of USD depending on how much they holding.

Well it is a great start if you are already having those thoughts. Coinbase is favourite for many people but it’s not the safe place to keep your bitcoin mate. If you are truly going to be holder then just buy hardware wallet which is not waste of money in the long run.

It’s an added bonus when it comes to security of your funds. You can always keep putting bitcoins on it as and when a purchase is made. Start doing DCA investment this way you don’t burden yourself investing all at once. Good luck mate.
216  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese city now accepts CBDC payments for bus rides on: July 05, 2023, 04:16:31 PM
So what they are doing is: publishing centralised currency through more stricter means and authorities. Now that’s funny. Obviously it’s a dictatorship so people will follow whatever their kings says and point outs. They will have no option but to use centralised digital currency and they will slowly taken away from the decentralised crypto currencies. Yeah, that’s what they did since the beginning. Remembered the era of Chinese miners? It was hot as pan and went too far but at the end in the name of electricity burden they banned the crypto entirely. They got away with the reasons and going even stricter till date.
217  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: July 05, 2023, 02:39:31 PM
Eh, I don’t think there is dominance by rich people. They are rich because they know how to use the money to make more money and how to utilise the man power to do so. You wouldn’t believe but rich are those who are setting up their own businesses around the world, they are hiring skilled peoples, paying them the salaries and much more. Let us not make this discussion any harder.

Yes throughout the history there had been some ups and downs. But it’s mostly win win situation. Those who understood the assignment of business they fired it up and went up in the economic point of view and those who did not well they are just crying.

I think it’s all about what is our perspective when looking at money, how we earn, what we do, how much efforts we take for the same.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are bitcoin mixers often accused of laundering money? on: July 05, 2023, 02:22:10 PM
Why it is always one bad person and 99 good person ratio that I never understood in the world we live in. What about my privacy if I wanted to be anonymous? I am the person who would donate some money at religious place or may be on the street where I feel like it’s needed. What if that money is earned from bitcoin and I want to maintain my anonymous nature until the end? I would definitely use mixers and get freshly minted bitcoins. My intentions are whole heartedly good but does the use of mixers make me money launderer?  Then that must be changed right away.  Cheesy
219  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: July 04, 2023, 06:27:29 PM
It is great tide from $FUN token but with this rise, the token is only less than half of its all time high. The all time high is about $0.2 and the cryptocurrency market is still in a bear year.

You can take profit if you bravely bought $FUN token weeks ago and if you are a trader. If you are an investor, love FreeBit.co, believe in the business net profit and their plan to use part of profit to buy back $FUN token and burn it, you can hold the token.

Wait for more burning rounds and a big bull run next year.
I'm not hopeful seeing FUN reach close to its ATH anytime futurely, because that is a long road to go yet and it really seems there were over expectations back then, on the launchment of the token, when the price was pretty high (almost 0,20$). I believe what saved FUN and has been keeping it alive is the adoption by freebitco.in team in different features, such as premium program and alternative casinos websites and its respective promotions.

But we have to keep it realistic and consider a victory every positive fluctuations it does. I'm going to sell my holdings only if FUN hits a price superior to 30 satoshis per token, as that was the price I purchased them for. Otherwise, I will simply keep the premium program activated on its full capacity for extra BTC income.

Anyway, I hope you are right about what FUN will bring to us next year... Crossing fingers!

That’s good way to go mate. I have told myself since the beginning that I’m not gonna sell my FUN anytime soon. I’m already keeping everything set for the big day. There is no magic in this one but simple maths of premium membership as well as the FUNs utility everywhere in the gambling casino through freebitcoin. The stakes are also huge in the Binance like exchangers. I’m confident that this will pan out really well in the future time and advisable that everyone should keep holding it.

The FUN superiority is beyond 30 Satoshi and if you check the historical charts then yeah it’s way bigger than we think. Hoping for the boom soon!
220  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: July 04, 2023, 04:15:33 PM
You can call it transportation achievement or more closely it could be called as “supply chain” that makes it more advance in the world of economic growth. The supply chain is the key for everything in the market. Imagine world wide shipping that can now happen within 48 hours! It’s huge achievement by humanity how fast we are moving everywhere. All we do is click a button for product that is available on website and it gets delivered just instantly. Take any giant shipping company they have their own ships, aeroplanes, road vehicles and much more. So yes u am also more or less agree to the fact that this is vital and supply chain can move way faster with huge transport.
