In case this happens to you:
There is a race-condition bug in the code that will create two or more payments for one session. This is considered "impossible" by the payment engine backend and so none of the payments get paid. I have a bugfix for this in the pipeline but not yet on the production system.
I get immediate email notification by the payment engine in case this happens and will always sort this out as soon as possible, but depending on personal state (sleeping/working/etc) and availability of internet access it might take few hours.

This happend 4 times the last week, so it is quite unlikely you encounter this bug, but if it is the case don't panic, you will get your payout  Cool

The bugfix is now deployed to production system. Issue should not happen anymore  Smiley

Kann mir einer erklären wieso der Kurs bei bitstamp bei 60 rumdümpelt währen MtGox bei 75 ist? So ein Unterschied ist ja schon krass...
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitStamp is down now too? on: April 11, 2013, 04:57:13 PM
Seems to be up again. Be fast, there are some BTCs available for 90$! MtGox is currently at 123...

Edit: Forget that. Just realized that everybody except MtGox is in the low 90ies...
147  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: April 10, 2013, 08:48:00 PM
bitstamp scheint sich wieder stabilisiert zu haben. Orderbook sieht vernünftig aus und der Kurs schon wieder hoch auf 178$.

Hab dort noch bei 130$ 10 BTC gekauft. Also alles super  Grin

Ahrg. Bitcoind has been running for several weeks now without restart - Just today it started making troubles. I am looking into it right now.

Okay, everything is back to normal again. Pending payments are sent out, all transactions should be handled. If you think a transaction is missing let me know!

Have you had any issues with double spending? You seem pretty brave accepting 0 conf bets!

Zero problem so far Grin
But I do have multiple measures in place to protect me, some of which are only possible through the usage of individual bet addresses for each player. And of course some obvious like "reject unconfirmed bets that don't have a tx fee" etc.

bitbattle.me is now online without any noteworthy incident for almost 6 months, having served 105,000+ bets in more than 6,000 sessions. While I consider this a great success, unfortunately the net result is not really overwhelming so far. Basically I am still struggling with keeping a positive net result. Therefor I am now raising the house edge from 1.8% to 1.9%.

This is still in the same range than the competition - And remember that I still offer some outstanding features:
  • immediate feedback on any bet
  • still accepting unconfirmed transactions
  • no blockchain bloat or transaction spamming
  • personal statistics and bet addresses
  • minimum bet of only 0.001 BTC

So I hope you keep visiting bitbattle.me Wink!
153  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Announce] bitcoinmonitor.net - Free professional notification/payment service on: April 02, 2013, 03:43:09 PM
Are you getting enough donations to cover costs? Blockchain.info now has the same notification facility (with even more options like SMS), even for Watch Only addresses. It's good to have redundancy but please don't go into the red!
Well, you can't say I'm swamped with dontations so far Wink : https://blockchain.info/address/12AxBpvmqzYbSHmvZML6Xv9TPncJgdnikm

But that's okay for me. I use bitcoinmonitor.net also for myself / some of my own projects, and I also see it as a kind of contribution to the bitcoin project as a whole.
154  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Announce] bitcoinmonitor.net - Free professional notification/payment service on: April 01, 2013, 08:32:55 PM
The last weeks there were some incidents resulting in notifications for confirmed transactions being delayed by several hours. The root cause is that the current hardware is not really up for the job anymore. I started this site more than a year ago and requirements drastically changed since then. With the current rate of transactions going on and the increase of blocksize I need to move to bigger hardware (Main issues are RAM and disk IO at the moment).
I have a better machine available already - Just need to find the time to move to it. Will keep you posted...

Site seems down?  Anyone know why?
Seems unstable. 10 seconds ago it loaded fine here, but now it is timing out. Then again its loading. Another DDOS?
157  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: March 21, 2013, 09:49:25 PM

They already have a payment transactionID but it is not known to the network. Is this always the case with big wins? Probably means they prepared the transaction but are reluctant to send it out before double-checking that the bet was legit?

159  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Add user interface to set dust limit and filtered addresses on: March 20, 2013, 07:49:51 AM
...

I can see no legit. use for an address filter.

You can't? Just imagine there is a big robbery and all the bitcoins are just sitting in the thief's address, where everyone can see. Wouldn't it be nice to have the bitcoins sit there forever? The thief would not be able to spend his bitcoins because everyone would just reject his transaction, based on previous knowledge about the robbery. If the thief would ever return the bitcoins to it's rightful owner people would already be able to accept only that transaction above all, using their client filters.
No serious robber would be so dumb to move the robbed coins to one address and leave them there for more than 5 seconds. First thing you do is throw them at multiple addresses and mixers as fast as possible to cover up your trail. This reminds me of the "security by obscurity" failure...

Not to mention the possibility of it being abused politically. Imagine if somehow an innocent person gets tagged as a scammer, and everyone jumps on them and blocks their transactions. It could happen to someone who doesn't believe they've done anything wrong so they wouldn't have any reason to hide their coins.

This! 100% agree.
160  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitbattle.me - Instant bets, ZERO waiting! >100000 bets placed! NEW: API! on: March 19, 2013, 08:51:38 PM
Another API piece now online: Now it is possible to obtain bet addresses, win odds etc of your player in json-format. Just take your dashboard url and append
Code:
/json/
at the end.

Sample link: http://bitbattle.me/player/herbert/json/

Check out the new section "Player information" in the API description.
