Last night I tried to get this coin added on coinsmarkets but they won't do it without dev request and approval in order to prevent issues with forks and nodes. In my mind there are three reasons to do this. We can make trade orders at 1/10 of a satoshi, we can have a doge market, and finally the biggest reason is online staking. We can even stake coins while waiting for the trade orders to complete. So if anyone on the Dev team is listening, please do this and thanks

I hope we get sprouts listed there because coinsmarkets is good exchange that also do automatic staking your balance. It's unlike poswallet that you have to manually move your coins from exchange to staking or vice versa. I'm staking other coins at coinsmarkets and they're doing good staking their. I really hope we can get sprouts with dev's help and get listed at coinsmarkets. I believe it's free to list there as long as we have complete details of the coin to add there.

Coinsmarkets would be great. It is a great place to stake your coins and you can have your coins in trade offers and they will still stake.

Just a quick question
  Who is working on this coin or current developer?   so I could send him a message to get it added to Coinsmarkets

We are having recurrent issues with the Sprouts wallet.

Code:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
  what():  CWallet::GetDebit() : value out of range

The wallet seems to be getting corrupted. We backup from the day befores wallet and the same thing happens the next day.

Could a dev please contact us by PM to help us resolve this issue.

Until this is resolved our Sprouts wallet will unfortunately be placed into maintenance mode.

i got same problem last month when i split my blocks,
after reading some post , if the block size is above then 20mil you got the problem and u lost the whole block amount.

because your backup wallet not have that transaction that u lost in crashed.

this coin wallet wont support block size above then 20mil

 Hello
 if  this coin wallet wont support block size above then 20mil

   What is a good block size ?

The block size limit is 2 billion, not 20 million.  You can read for yourself here at line 37 in main.h:
https://github.com/gjhiggins/sprouts/blob/master/src/main.h

The line is:
Code:
static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 2000000000 * COIN;

So, any block size below 2 billion will stake, anything above will not.

New user and MOONcoin owner as of this morning... until 2 hours ago when I purchased 670000 ish of them and transferred them into the address of my newly downloaded windows wallet from the bottom of the MOONcoin website, only to find that the wallet went into a "synchronising with network" mode, and the mooncoins never arrived???  Can anyone out there shed some light or offer a solution?

Just wait for wallet to sync it may take some time then the coins will turn up
You can also copy/paste your address (the one you sent those coins to) into the entry box at the top of this page:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/moon/#
and it will show you your coins.

(If you have used your wallet to send or receive coins be sure to make a backup copy of it. Make a couple of copies of your "wallet.dat" file, and place somewhere else for safe keeping. Do this often.)

Does anyone know if we are going to switch to the Dark Gravity Wave algo? Or something similar? It sounds like this could really help our block time.

The algorithm will indeed be changing soon (the change will help the block time):

I'm 17 days on a 590m transaction and its still not staking. serious pain in the ass. every so often this wallet stops staking and I have to resync. Anyone else having this issue?

17 days is a bit long.  Which version are you using?

The most current version is: v0.1.2.2-gd0cbc83

Where can we track moon software

Github link  ??  let's look at the updates

https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin   9 months

I can not see any work for 9 months

It looks like you missed the repos: https://github.com/mooncoindev?tab=repositories

I don't know who chose to have 385,000,000,000 coins but congratulations, you have created the coin with the most coins in the World! I haven't seen one
...
Maybe you missed the part where it says its going to take over 15,488 years to get to 385 billion (minus the 77 billion blacklisted).  So, the current supply is at 145 billion and slowly increasing.

Yes, dev sell all his billion coins at 1 sathoshi and make thousands of dollars. And you buy it. Dev work so hard, that he can't answer etc.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy My 30 million coins are sold.

Would love to see how you came to this conclusion. You have barrysty1es MOON address? Maybe he PM'd you telling how much MOON he has?

Or are you just assuming and talking crap about something you can't possibly know? I *really* enjoy reading posts like yours stating you sold off your holdings because it means we can just write you off as totally useless.
It may just be someone jealous that mooncoin has overtaken their little pet project and so they come here and bash this one.

Don't feed the trolls, ignore them.

Guys! the hosting of block-explorer is going to expire in 23 days.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/sprts/#!crypto

Someone please collect funds from the contributors who wants to contribute.
So, who wants to volunteer make addresses of BTC, LTC and DOGE, we (Sprouts community) will send coins to the given addresses and the coins will be used to extend the hosting of block-explorer.
That's a great find.  Thank you kk777 for posting about this, the core group has been notified.  It'll get dealt with asap.

I couldn't get it to work, but thanks.
If a wallet does not sync up its usually just one of two things:

1) the config file isn't setup up correctly (could it be misspelled? .. it should be sprouts.conf not sprout.conf or sprouts.conf.txt ... maybe its in the wrong directory: it should be in the same directory as the wallet.dat file), or

2) a firewall somewhere is blocking access.

The directions here usually help:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1798901.msg19720939#msg19720939

And be sure to copy and paste the most recent node list from here into the sprouts.conf file:

...

If we hit Asian exchange 20sats per MOON is nothing.
Look for example at Earthcoin. 99% of their $2mil per 24h volume comes from China.
That is why I was looking for native chinese/japanese/korean speaking users.
I believe there are such here reading but they are just watching us fighting ...

So I am officially burring the tomahawk of war. And lighting up the pipe of peace.

Please do not change the current blue moon logo for now. It is appealing enough to penetrate the Asian markets.

Do you have any specific Asian markets in mind? How may we contact them? Let us be diligent in our efforts to propel Moon.

Finally a topic I've been waiting to hear about.  Invading the Asian markets would be great for this coin.

The Chinese even revere the Moon in their myths and legends.  From "The Mother Agenda" vol 3 Oct 30, 1962:
Quote
...I have come to understand that the Chinese are a lunar race – their origin is the moon. They came to earth when the moon got too cold and they could no longer exist there. This is something I saw...

This is the Mooncoin after all, no other coin has this property.  Take advantage of it.  Use it.

I try to withdraw Sprouts from novaexchange. They ask for PIN code ?
The pin code is something you'll have to setup within novaexchange.  I just logged in and found it.

Within novaexchange go to --> account --> pin and password basic settings.

You'll have to either setup a pin number for the first time, or change the one you have if you forgot it.

Thanks you I got it now. Regarding staking, is there any way to install the wallet on the vps ( centos, command only since it has no visual)? I can't open my computer all day  Grin
Its possible.  You'd have to download the source from here and compile it yourself: https://github.com/gjhiggins/sprouts

But that's a lot of hurdles to jump through just to get a wallet open.  The windows one works fine already, no need to compile.  Good luck.

I always liked this coin, propagating about 400 plants a year in my yard, but it's going to take 204 BTC to move it to 2 sat on Novaexchange.
We may not have to purchase that whole wall of 204 btc at 1 sat.  Some of those sitting their sprouts there may cancel those sell orders, if they see the price starting to move up.  They may prefer to try and sell at a higher price.

I like that a coin doesn't just have to be about money.   I haven't read through the thread, but I could see like giving sprouts to kids in schools as a way to teach staking coins and ideas like that.
That is a really great idea.

Ok it seem that we can earn this coin via staking right? In the sprouts wallet, i see "Minting" option, is this the staking that we are talking? Do I need to open my computer all day for staking or I just need to unlock my wallet ? Sorry for asking too much. I just new guy here  Grin
I believe that the wallet needs to be running and unlocked for it to stake (mint new coins).  Shutting it down should stop the staking.

I have problem whith nodes!  Angry
i addnode
addnode=172.106.75.17

addnode=104.236.59.76
addnode=178.62.210.32

addnode=85.214.147.99
addnode=23.28.253.151
addnode=144.76.71.141

but 0 active connections to network, firewall and all is in normal state...

Visit this link, here you will find active nodes.
https://www.coinexchange.io/network/peers/SPRTS

I think 10 to 15 active connections are enough for sinc.
So, at the top of your "sprouts.conf" file write this line:
maxconnections=12

By the way, I got at least 7 active connections without .conf file. Wink
So, if you have still problem then try to run the wallet without .conf file.

it works Smiley thx

I also have the same problem even added all node but still couldn't get any connection .. Help please !!!

Be sure you have the have the latest version (v0.1.2.2-gd0cbc83) and that the sprouts.conf has the latest nodes from here:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/sprts/#!network  <--- hit the "node list" button to get the list of nodes.

Plus, I had some more detailed directions here about the dlls and sprouts.exe:

Mooncoin foundation you're invited to join the board. Any other long term supporters can apply here.

Who are you to invite? The director of directors?
After Mooncoin_Foundation clearly stated multiple times that he is against this stupid idea and politely explained to you again and again why with 100% valid arguments.

Such structures in the world are the reason Bitcoin was invented in the first place.
This reminded me of a line I just read today from "Mastering Bitcoin" 2nd edition, by A.M. Antonopoulos c 2017: (ch. 1, p. 3)

Quote
When cryptography started becoming more broadly available and understood in the late 1980s, many researchers began trying to use cryptography to build digital currencies...

Although these earlier digital currencies worked, they were centralized and, as a result, were easy to attack by governments and hackers...

To be robust against intervention by antagonists, whether legitimate governments or criminal elements, a decentralized digital currency was needed to avoid a single point of attack.  Bitcoin is such a system, decentralized by design, and free of any central authority or point of control that can be attacked or corrupted.
Why do I even need to restate what is already a basic fundamental.  There are only a few basic elements to these modern digital currencies, remove any one of these things and this stuff ceases to exist.
