1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 31, 2014, 09:31:13 PM

5) It still is not clear whether the group is a government entity trying to push people toward government created algorithms which have backdoors, like cryptonote, or if it is a private group of profiteers.

Hi,

Care to show any proof?

Thanks

I'd like to see some too. But I think the we are highly unlikely to see that

There are several very distinct avenues of approach that can be used to classify cn cryptonote as a government project, the product of a collaboration motivated by factors associated with people whose motive is related to law enforcement and/or information gathering.

A person using the name Jungian should make short work of it, unless the username is an ornament.

Aside from the blatant psychological clues there are cryptographic questions http://www.cryptobang.com/2014/10/05/what-nsa-created-cryptonote-for/ and other issues that are likely to receive press soon.

You may be looking in the wrong place. The files are "IN" the computer Shocked

Interesting comment since after a bit I realized that my computer has roughly a few gigabytes added to it since the hack. A huge block of empty clusters visible on auslogics defrag now is full. When I have energy for it I'll figure that out.

~conspiracy cartoon~

re 911 Are all of these generals and diplomats wrong?
re conspiracies that turned out to be true http://www.infowars.com/33-conspiracy-theories-that-turned-out-to-be-true-what-every-person-should-know/

As far as conspiracy theories involving the U.S. govt, almost all of them have turned out to be true. Defenders of the govt point to the few dozen people who question the moon landing. In fact that has become the easiest way to identify govertnment shills. They try to confuse the moon landing hoaxers with genuine critics.

All those hundreds of thousands of Americans sent to vietnam as the govertnment is promising the tonkin incident was genuine. Conspiracy theorists turned out to be right. Tell it to 58,000 dead americans and 500,000+ dead vietnamese.

And who in America could forget that crying girl played over and over on tv, every channel, who told Congress how Iraqi soldiers were ripping newborns out of incubators in Kuwait? Turned out she was actually the daughter of the ambassador, hired by a pr agency coordinated with the cia.

Every single war since wwii has been the same.

And now cryptocurrencies. The biggest financial gamechanger since the federal reserve. And what, governments are ignoring it? Look at cryptonote. It uses exactly the same type of promoting style as only has been used by governments.

It is useful to know that the dev working on the supposed zc algo for anc is a defender of the govt version of 911 anyway.

Some more reading for anyone interested.

entertheabyss is another troll created to discredit Anoncoin

People need to understand the hierarchy and scope of the trolls infesting anc.

1) Through collusion, subversion or other means they own at least two anc devs apparently.
2) There are at least four full time people working on developing this scam.
3) A lot of money has been invested in suppressing the price. This was first done with throwaway miners. Most miners immediately sell an average of ~90% of the coins the mine. By cornering mining activities the anc manipulatiors are able to keep the price low yet still maintain longterm control when the price rises.
4) Almost certainly their plan involves several phases, each of which will feature an artificial price run up followed by a crash and increasing loss of confidence in the anc brand.
5) It still is not clear whether the group is a government entity trying to push people toward government created algorithms which have backdoors, like cryptonote, or if it is a private group of profiteers.

Question: You are implementing Zerocoin. But from what? Zerocoin project was never finished, code does not exist? Or are you guys writing the code yourself, based of the Zerocoin white paper? Can you clarify? I made some ANC investments, but I need to have this clarified to be able to invest more.

They are borrowing the credibility of the zerocoin project.

Everything else, the actual code, is original work.

If you look through the project you will see it has terminal flaws. It is not meant to succeed.

Who it is that takes a coin with the Anonymous symbol and deliberately discredits it is a mystery.

I missed the thread that stated his router is overheating.  That said, you have one or more of the following issues that may be eating up bandwidth:

1. Software updates (like windows, game or AV updates) taking place
2. Torrent server still active
3. Virus/bot running malware (like a mail server or ddos bot)
4. Possibly you wireless modem has a hijacker using your wifi (depends on type of wireless modem you have ( wifi router access or hotspot?)
5. Software backup/sync to cloud service running (Dropbox/one drive/Box/Gdrive/etc)

You have a little detective work ahead, but like mentioned earlier I would start with task manager to see what is active.  Then try installing some tracking software and running your antivirus.

I was watching the task manager as the latest data surge occurred and there was nothing unusual.

1) I set all software to update manually and am running a minimalist Windows system. There is little to update aside from Windows which I do manually.
2) I do not use any torrent on the computer.
3) It does look like malware of some sort.
4) Physically I am about a quarter mile from any other house.
5) I have no cloud services on the computer like dropbox etc.

I do notice a correlation between running certain coin wallets, like xcn, and these surges but the wallets are widely used and not likely infected. The data surge takes into account any possible useage by wallets. I have been using coin wallets and know what sort of traffic they cause.

I have a wireless modem that I use for data. Today I noticed it was massively overheating and my computer was running unusually hot.

Then I got a message from my provider that I was almost a gigabyte over my limit.

However I did not use much data recently. Somehow my computer has used several gigabytes yesterday and today when my actual usage was well under 10% of that.

I imagine it is some kind of hack but are there any ideas on what else it might be?

I've been using the same wireless modem for about 6 months. There are no computer users within range of the modem besides me.
