I am not sure why everyone is harping on the side projects?  They are good to have and the dev team has been working on the wallets for over a year.  Do you know how frustrating that is, to work on something for a long period of time?
People need to break from long projects to accomplish something different to refresh their minds so they can plug away at the long term stuff.  They are accomplishing many things.
No one likes the price here, but that will all change in the next 12 months.

Not saying side-projects are bad.
Just saying that it's horrific to see side-projects popping-up and running, when the 1st ultra priority project doesn't evolve at all. That's the more frustating, on our public side. Of course if people developping side-projects are doing so because they can't help the main project, there is no negative impact on the final wallet, but, still, frustating.
I agree that people need to have hollidays and some rest sometimes, it's normal. And I thank them for their work.
But all the illogic (to my eyes) of the Cloak team agenda, as I wrote earlier today, was the reason I reacted so.

... I will admit I am extremely anxious for the new wallet as is everyone else but at the same time if it isn't ready it isn't ready. I would rather wait than get a wallet that isn't finished and will be torn apart in reviews...

I understand that, and agree, even if it doesn't change anything about what I said. Thank for your answer.

Well said my friend!

I give you right in mostly points. The side Projects like Twitterbot, Android Wallet and co this all was not made by our Coder "Indigo" he promises us from begin he will finish the POSA3-Wallet but cause many reasons from his side he didn't!

It was not our fault cause we have 100% trust in him and his delay made this bad situation for us all.

I am really sorry for this and i feel same like you all and i have also invested much of money in this project.

At the moment i am negotiate with 2 more coders to finish finally the POSA3 wallet cause i can't and don't want wait anymore for "Indigo" cause he said self he don't know when he able to finish this work!

So don't think its always our all fault, sometimes things happened in universe but not always for our bad .)

I am also happy to see you still believe in us it make me/us stronger in this difficult time.

PEACE & LOVE

OK, OK...  Undecided nothing more to add from my side now.

Yes, it's pretty...

...

No : rare last alive Cloak supporters only want the only important thing they were expecting of Cloak : a Cloak wallet finally really anonymous (at least, for what you told us) to use a (supposed) good anonymous and private coin. But it never comes.

Ratatosk we love you too  Kiss

I think you forgot small thing: We could release POSA3 wallet long time ago without Security Audit, but we decide to do a "Security Audit".

I understand that you all impatient and want best "MAGIC/HOLY GRAIL ANON WALLET" in one week but come down to earth and be realistic its not possible to release good quality product in few weeks, not with our budget and sources.

But if you able to help us to code the wallet so you help is very appreciated, if you can't so try to spread more LOVE, cause you hate help ZERO in our situation!

PEACE & LOVE!

 Kiss

Yes I remember the audit... and the several "small" things needed to be fixed. But since the audit you also wrote many times that all was almost finished, and that we wouldn't have to wait long, or that all is going to be fixed very quick or come out really-really soon...

I know it's a lot of work. I was only saying that finalizing and releasing the final working PoSA3 anon wallet should have been your ultra top priority target, and that many things not really urgent or not anon like Twitter tips, Android, videos, bloackexplorer, new promises/announces of next revolutional changes, new graphic layer of website, should have been made after the mega urgent and needed public release of PoSA3 wallet.

Your recent past and actual agenda scary me because it's so much illogic, I really don't understand how no one of you realize that, and how bad it was and it still is for Cloak. So much time and energy (and so, money too) lost.

You know I have several interesting qualities, but I can't help you to code. But even, if I could, your paranoia about not sharing the code except between you and Indigo would make my contribution to code impossible.

You told me you want to satisfy your investors. I don't see or understand how this behaviour helps to reach this goal. And by the way, I'm still one of these investors, for what that matters, even if less than before.

Despite our divergence of thinkings, there is absolutely no hate from me about Cloak. I really did not want to make Cloak team & supporters sad or angry. But many things disapoint me, or scare me. I'm only trying to open your eyes, from my outside position that allows me to have a quite impartial clear and global view.

And yes, you know I'm also in a kind of hope, live long & prosper, peace & love trip, with or without graphical pink cross (private joke, all other forum readers)... But one of the problems is that you only promise and deliver that, for now, sorry. We can only judge and make a conclusion on a guy/team/project on facts and results, not on words.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLOAK]CloakCoin|X13|PoSA3|CloakShield|Trustless Anonymous|Security Audit on: October 29, 2015, 09:55:22 AM
Hi

Yes, it's pretty...

But once again, you loose time with details.

https://bchain.info/CLOAK/ was good enough for now.

The only ultra priority thing the last Cloak believers are asking for, is the final PoSA3 anonymous working wallet, supposed to be "almost 99% finished" since beginning August, if I remember good.

No surprise prices crashes...

Sorry to write that, don't want to hurt, but it's only a fact that everybody can clearly see : the pattern of promised product release and communications is almost identical as what happened in Summer & Autumn 2014, with "Cloak 1.0" and "Cloak team 1.0". And everybody remembers how it finished. And Cloak team 2.0 almost 100% repeat copy/paste this pattern with Cloak 2.0 in 2015, the same months... For what everybody can see, Cloak is almost at same level of developpement and public trust than 12 month ago.

Anonymous altcoins lovers don't need a Twitterbot gadget not anonymous, or an Android wallet not anonymous, or advertising videos made by LucasArt, or a sparkling blockexplorer, or announce of "some big changes for the project" (you know what I think about, if it's what I beleive), or regular text updates full of Peace & Love, with background of violin music, raining flowers, bright and pure perfect future, but only asking to wait again and telling us all is going to arrive and be fine.

No : rare last alive Cloak supporters only want the only important thing they were expecting of Cloak : a Cloak wallet finally really anonymous (at least, for what you told us) to use a (supposed) good anonymous and private coin. But it never comes.

Go into your local bank and ask to transfer X to someone's IBAN account. You'll first have to open an account (KYC), then show an invoice.
You can't just transfer money between private accounts.

I don't understand where should be a problem. Letspaydigital.com own a bank account in SEPA. They can send how much money they want to any bank account that has an IBAN number. Like me in Belgium, from my home net banking system, I only need somebody's IBAN number anywhere in SEPA Europe, not even need the BIC, to send money to his bank account, and absolutely no need for an invoice...

www.letspaydigital.com is a "copy" of Bitwala, Spectrobill, PixPay, Cashila, Bitbill, Bylls...

This new service stinks of a scam.

I don't think : Litebit.eu is good and safe for long time, and Litepaid is a good webshops plugin altcoins payment system.

Hi

There is a new web service allowing people to send money on an European IBAN SEPA bank account number, by sending altcoins to https://www.letspaydigital.com/en

Currently, accepted coins are :

Blackcoin
Bitcoin
Dash
Digibyte
Dogecoin
Feathercoin
Litecoin
Gulden
Namecoin
Peercoin
Primecoin

As LiteGroup.eu includes LiteBit, LitePaid and LetsPayDigital, it would be great if they accept XMR on all these services (particulary LitePaid so you can pay in real webshop to buy real things).

Educate them about Monero and ask them kindly :-)

support@letspaydigital.com
https://www.litepaid.com/contact
https://www.litebit.eu/contact/en/

I know xmr.to allows XMR > BTC, but Monero really needs a XMR > bank account website.

Hi, as Jojatekok decided to stop working on MoneroX wallet, I would like to know if last 1.2.2 version will be compatible with Monero 0.9, please ?

Hello everyone, sorry for being so speechless in the past months. I'm writing to tell that I have no more time to focus on the development of MoneroX. Although this is the best project I ever made, I decided to discontinue it and move on to develop something else.

I sincerely love Monero as a cryptocurrency, and the community behind it: this is especially true for the people who were reporting bugs and suggesting new features to be added to MoneroX. As I'll be turning 18 this year, I will have tons of more important things to do regarding school, thus, I may only have the chance to work on one project at a time. I have already learnt a lot about software development, and decided that I should finally start working on a project which - if successful - I would release under my real name. (I haven't yet made any significant work under my own name.)

Hopefully, I will have time to occasionally check what's going on with this awesome digital currency. I will never forget the people who are/were supporting Monero and my project. Thank you for the kind comments and donations, and I wish you all the best! Smiley

Hi and thank you for the work you did on MoneroX.
Do you think your last release will be compatible with Monero 0.9 ?
Thanks :-)

I don't know anything about that card so can't help you there.  As for miners here is the link to the mining thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=693118.0

The difficulty is low so I solo mine using mbk's solo miner.  Windows version is available at the github repository https://github.com/mbkuperman/boolberry-opencl/releases

Edit:

You are not going to get much from that card.  But you could run a cpu and gpu miner at the same time on one of the pools and get something.

Here is a mining hardware comparison list.  The list is for litecoin but it gives you an idea of the mining capabilities of various cards and processors  https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

Thank you  Smiley

Only to know : do you think it's worth mining BBR on my

If yes, what miner (Windows 10 x64) do you advice me, please  ? Never mined any coin !   Smiley

Depends on your power cost. Always depends on that. But not likely, I would say.

OK, thanks :-)

My first report on 0.9 beta release
+ Database size after sync-ed: data.mdb 9,437,187 KB (9.4 GB) (block 797721)

Hey, strange, I updated Monero today and my database is only 5.079.778 KB !?? (Windows 10)
Version 0.8.8.6
Why such differences ?

windows apparently has a fun time with sparse file formats, or at least thats what fluffy said.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparse_file

basically, the file is mostly empty. if u compressed it with zip or whatever, you'd see a file size reminiscent of the actual data, bc no compression algo is gonna do wonders with crypto data, as its mostly psuedo-random nonsense with little to no patterns

The new database doesn't store the data all that compactly. Some amount of extra space being used is reasonable to improve performance but the 9+ GB does seem a bit excessive and is something we plan to look at in the future. BTW the 5 GB isn't that efficient either. If someone has an export file they can report on the actual size of the blockchain. It's smaller than both of those.

Thank you !
Yes my blockchain 0.8.8.6 is a .bin format, not a .mdb. And for information I use the latest version of MoneroX as GUI, if that matters. Very sad the author is going to stop developing this frontend.
GingerAle, funny you spoke about data compression... 2 days ago, as I like data compression tests with several "rare" or new compressors, I tried to compress my blockchain, only to see what happens and the possible differences between compressors. Interesting results, but not finished my comparative yet, I'll post here once done, for information.

I read this interesting thread, but did not find this info, maybe I did not see it sorry :

What is the speed of on/off-tangle payments ?

I mean the total maximum time for an operation to be 100% accepted/confirmed by the system ?
Are we speaking of 5-10 seconds, 1-30 minutes or hours ?
