1  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory 0.96.5 RC2 on: December 13, 2018, 11:22:32 PM
Thank you very much for your huge and excellent work.

I still think you should include a Donate button in the front user interface, so that anyboby can send you some Satoshi or more to thank you for your efforts, one or more time, when happy to use Armory...

Best regards
2  Bitcoin / Armory / How does Armory improve privacy ? on: December 13, 2018, 11:20:17 PM
I sometimes read that Armory improves the privacy of the user and tx, compared to many/most/all other BTC wallets.

Could you please tell me how, what various tech or methods does it use ?

Thank you  Smiley
3  Bitcoin / Armory / RESOLVED - "Scanning Transaction History" stuck at 91% and 1 second left... on: September 15, 2017, 12:37:08 AM
Strange new problem, everything was fine before today, and now Armory 0.96.2 never gets past this point...

Any idea, please ?

I rebooted, I made a Rescan balance, a Rescan database, but nothing changes...

Thank you for your help...

EDIT : third option "Rebuild+rescan databases" seemed to correct the problem...

Sorry

I may have modified the optimum settings. The pictures are my present settings.

Should I leave all as it is, or should I change some settings to improve the way Armory works, or to increase speed of Tx, or decrease fee, or to be sure Segwit is by default...

Sorry my English is bad

So : are my settings the optimal settings I could save, for an optimal experience of Armory and Bitcoin ?

Thank you :-)
6  Bitcoin / Armory / Please help me confirm my Armory settings are good / the best ones on: September 10, 2017, 04:09:14 PM
Hi,

As I update Armory each time a new version comes out, and sometimes I try to change settings and forget what they were by default, could you please help tell me if these settings are now the best ones for Armory 0.96.2 to work at best ?

About the tx fee, I adjust them every time I send BTC by checking https://bitcoinfees.21.co
Or do you really think Auto fee/byte is really a better setting ?

Many thanks

8  Bitcoin / Armory / Little bug with printing paper wallet on: August 13, 2017, 10:22:30 PM
Hi

Each time I ask to print a paper backup of a wallet, Armory set the paper type to Letter in the printer settings, and when I click Print, the printer fails to print, I have to reset, and ask for printing again in Armory, and not to forget to go in printer settings of the Armory window, to set bak the paper type correctly to A4.

It's the only software doing such a problem on my computer, when trying to print.

A user here, kindly helping me, told me about the problematic address :

"This address is a multisig address and should have at least 2 private keys, not 1. How did you generate this address ?"

I never asked for a mutlisig address when I created the wallet in Armory, and never asked for a multisig receinving address when asking the Armory wallet to generate me a BTC receiving address...

And when I export privkey, only 1 privkey shows, not 2, as it should be in case of multisig address...

I don't understand.

Additional findings :

on the 9 pairs "Address strings + Private key plain base58", the 7 that give me back incorrect addresses after using privkey are pairs where original addresses start with "3..." in the pair, and the 2 privkeys that give me back correct addresses are the original pairs where the addresses started with a "1..." in the pair

Hi

Yes of course, after opening bitaddress.org page, I remove my ethernet from back of my computer, I exit the page and then I plug in the ethernet.

Yes it seems Armony only generated me old "5....." uncompressed private key for each of the address included in wallets.

Yes I checked carefully each of the 2 addresses, compressed and uncompressed, given by bitaddress.org for each of my 9 private keys saved from Armory, and only 2 of them gave the correct addresses linked to the "5....." private keys wallets backups...

This is a serious issue, right ?

And I really need the private key of a wallet backup to give me back the correct address, because, now, because of that problem, I can't have access to my Bitcoin Cash BCH balance, waiting for me at this address  (I checked, they are there, with no Tx out, the BCH balance is the same as my BTC balance before the fork for this address).

HEEEELLLPPP :-)

I could even send 0.1 BTC to the person that helps me correct the problem and allow withdrawing of my BCH.

Thank you.

Very strange.

I have 4 wallets in Armory.

I made backup for each, by exporting keys list, as in previous post.

For these 4 wallets, I have 9 pairs of Address strings + Private key plain base58

On https://www.bitaddress.org , when I enter the private keys and ask Details, 2 of the 9 give me the correct addresses.

What is this problem ?

I really need the private key of my previous post wallet to produce the correct address, because I can't access the new Bitcoin Cash BCH, as the private key generates an other empty address instead of the good one...

17  Bitcoin / Armory / Big problem with export private key of wallet ! on: August 10, 2017, 12:42:53 PM
Hi

It seems there is a big problem :

I created a new wallet in Armory.

I asked only once to display a receiving address and I sent BTC to this address.

On Blockchain explorer, my BTC are shown on this receiving address.

I make a backup of this wallet : "Export keys list"

I checked "Address string" and "Private key plain base58" and "Omit spaces in key data"

Armory displays me :
-date of creation of wallet
-wallet ID
-wallet name
(space)
-only one receiving address, same as I saw above, and where I sent my BTC
-only one PrivBase58: 5.................................................

BUT

when I go on https://www.bitaddress.org , tab Wallet details, when I enter my private PrivBase58 key and hit See details button, the system show me an other receiving address (empty), not the address containing my BTC !

Where is the problem, please ?

Please HELP me, please, I can't "find" my BCC...

Before the fork, I created a new BTC wallet and sent all my BTC to one address in this wallet.

You can see that here : https://blockchair.com/search?q=1923b27c25e25ce3bc124bd3650814dabf62fadfeddd87ce63de96b2fdf9008d
and here https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/transaction/243276558

I exported the private key of this wallet.

After the fork, I sent my BTC to an other BTC wallet : https://blockchair.com/search?q=+16a63d95db3b1bede5383ccab3d3b0b94ef82b8ab1139dd3e467ed62abb1ac89+

As you can see, the BTC blockchain sees my Tx, but not the new BCH blockchain (normal, right ?).

So, my BCH are waiting for me on the BCH address on BCH blockchain, right ? I have the private key of this address/wallet.

On a new install of BitcoinABC with a new wallet file (and datadir set to save the BCH blockchain on an other drive than BTC blockchain), I enter the command "importprivkey ............................................................." and I paste the private key instead of the dots.

The wallet scans the BCH blockchain during 1 or 2 hours.

Answer : "null"

And no BCC in balance...

Please HELP, what did I wrong, how can I access these BCH ?
