Arrived in good order. Nice holograms; way better than the original Ravenbit holos that had a few issues. Now let's see a hybrid series of ETH coins  Wink Put me down for a set if you make them.

Thanks for the kind words Pistachio!  Hybrid ETH coins would be interesting, we'll take note of that idea and keep you in mind.  Smiley

Thats the original thread.  You can read halfway down (user llama) where they state the private key is inside the card.  Therefore i would think any redeemed card will be cut.

Interesting, I wasn't aware the key was embedded between the layers and it looks like an exacto knife could be used to redeem without cutting the card nearly in half.  Thanks for the info wheelz!

Undecided Really? I thought all you had to do was scratch the surface. If that is the case then all used ones are cut...correct?

I don't have any first hand experience redeeming these cards but I would think you can redeem it without cutting the card in half.  Everyone has their own way of redeeming and I recall scenarios where people were selling peeled/redeemed items and they didn't put the peeled hologram back on (extra value for resale).

An argument could probably be made about privacy for the user not putting the redeemed holo/key back on the item, but it definitely has more value if redeemed and is as intact as possible.

Blazed...why did the guy cut into the bill? What was the idea behind that?

The person who redeemed them did not think they were worth more than face value. I am glad I caught him soon enough to grab the other one so it never gets peeled. He was shocked when I offered him over face value...

Blazed...but why did he cut the one I bought with scissors?

The bill was cut to be redeemed.  Wink

1231  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Is there a legit case/capsule of some sort for Kialara bars out there? on: June 14, 2017, 01:14:20 PM
Probably a silly question and after a little research it looks to be off the table but worth asking.  3D printing?  From my MINIMAL knowledge/research it looks like those things only make molds out of some sort of non-plastic material or at least hard/clear plastic?  That is a 3D printing machine that isn't insanely expensive, pretty sure those things can make whatever if you have an industrial one.

Not a silly question, 3D printing would be used to design the prototype and test fit the bar(s).  After that the final design would then be sent off to another company for production in acrylic.  I do a lot of 3D printing and design myself and have a thread with more information.

For Kialara original, silver and golds a slip case for iPhone 5 fits just right. Here is an example of one on Amazon.

I have some similar cases for sale on my emporium (without the plastic card slots), but they don't fit the requirements of the OP.  He's looking for something that will allow the bar to be viewed while in the case without removing it.

I'm looking for something like a commodity bar case where I can hold and clearly view the entire bar.

Alright, I clicked the link and found they were sold when the price was ~$700 USD/BTC.

According to the price increase if these are valued in FIAT and not BTC terms, the sale price today should be approximately 4X less in BTC.  Just wanted to state my observation on the price and definitely not knocking the coins.  Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1506701.0

They sold between $175 US and $300 USD so thats about .5 BTC now. I think ETH was still really small back then too so I just can't see them going for much less.

Not going to split hairs here but you're pricing it in BTC based on the above quote.  If the coin is priced in FIAT $175-$300 USD is 0.065BTC - 0.11BTC.

I have some of these coins and I'm pretty sure mine are numbered very low.  They've never seen the market so I can't say there isn't people out there who would purchase it at $1400, approximately 100X the original price.  I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for market value.

EDIT: Thanks for clarifying about each one not being 0.5BTC and congrats on the sale.
