261  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FULL][GROUP BUY][EU] Kialara Physical Bitcoin [ESCROWED] on: January 01, 2015, 12:34:12 PM
That's why I created a group buy in the first place. This way someone can get just one coin, instead of having to buy 5 of them. I will be doing another in a bit, do you want me to send you a message once that one starts?

Yes please! I am definitely in if there is going to be another round.
262  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [FULL][GROUP BUY][EU] Kialara Physical Bitcoin [ESCROWED] on: January 01, 2015, 12:25:06 AM
Hey guys,

Is there anyway to get just one of these sent to Australia? I checked the website and it says bulk lot only for international. I can't afford that but can probably collect some funds for a coin.
263  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S-5 review. It has arrived some info is in! on: December 31, 2014, 11:48:39 PM
Thanks for this review. I will put this into effect when selecting my next gen miners. I don't think noise concerns me too much since I run them outdoors but hey the less noise the better.

Far too many people now accept bitcoin only to accept it then liquidate it as soon as possible. It won't help the cause.

They are indeed, I'm moving up the list. I think I will dedicate one of my miners full time to this pool and toggle between the rest on my primary pool and this pool.

268  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 31, 2014, 11:58:32 AM
[Elaborate .... !? Sure, .... they seem to have drawn all the luck outta slush!. So, nothing here nor there!

And yes, keep them all pointed at slush and you'll reap what you deserve, I find the strategy of pointing them at different pools a "false economy" cum fools' gold of sorts.

Have you seen those chinese pools today??? That damn Discuss Fish found more than 18 blocks today. They are really taking over yet provide such a shit reward system. I can't comprehend why small users would use that pool. Its a PPS pool with poor rates and all they're doing is industrializing bitcoin mining and ruining it for everybody else.

https://blockchain.info/pools

Slush's has been shrinking ever so slowly. It peaked another phash a week ago but dropped it again. I stick to my guns, slush was the first pool I joined and I respect the man for running a well paying and reliable pool. One that isn't going to kill mining for everyone else. Really is a shame seeing everyone pumping those chinapools.
269  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: December 31, 2014, 11:41:21 AM
Won't be surprised if it turns out those S5's you've deployed have a conflict of sorts with the pool .... they seem to have drawn all the luck outta slush!

Any chance you can elaborate on this?

I've been mining with Slushs for about a month or so now. I think its a brilliant pool although I must admit it can be rough when you go through a 20hr patch with no block found @ 10+phash pool speed.

Today was pretty sweet though, 5 blocks in a short time frame. Unfortunate all my power wasn't dedicated to the pool though!
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: December 31, 2014, 11:39:01 AM
I'm no trader. In the past the only forms of "trading" I've done were in the diablo 3 auction house lol. I usually try to find underpriced items which I believe will hold some larger value in the future and then when the time is right I will sell them off.

So far though, I have been mining btc and some other easy currency and exchanging for btc. I then swap btc to large sums of alt coins which are showing positive trends and don't look like a scam.

Hi guys,

I've been throwing some power into this pool for 3 days now, I'm seeing some numbers under "discarded" in one of my S3 miners. Is this of a concern? I have 0 rejected on all my miners.
273  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Beware of PayPal and other reversible transfer services on: December 31, 2014, 05:40:33 AM
I just had a discussion with a rep from PayPal:

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

In the event that a buyer has opened an INR or SNAD claim for an intangible item, we will require the seller respond claim with any evidence to prove that the buyer received the goods or services, or benefitted from the transaction.

The evidence varies according to the type of goods and services involved. You should be prepared to provide PayPal with compelling evidence to prove that you provided the service or digital good and that it was as you described it to be.

PayPal will consider all claims on their merits. If a seller shows us that they did provide the goods or services as described, we will reject the buyer’s claim. Sellers will benefit because of the extra confidence buyers will have when shopping for goods and services.

Our Buyer Complaint Process is a tool to help ensure a smooth, secure transaction for both the buyer and seller, and this process should not be abused. We closely monitor our customers’ use of the Buyer Complaint Process. If we find a buyer has filed an excessive number of buyer claims, we may close or limit access to that buyer’s account.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Sincerely,
Jeff
PayPal

I've asked them twice but they seem to dodge the question. I stated in black and white, if I provided screenshots of the buyer showing me their address to where to send bitcoins to, then link the transaction which cannot be modified, ever, is that sufficient? This is the reply I got.

Has anyone here had success fighting off a scam charge back?

Down and easy? Come here and you'll be running to go back. I live in NSW, potentially the biggest nanny state in the world.

277  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying Cryptocurrency from Trade Websites without photo ID on: December 31, 2014, 03:10:32 AM
Essentially what I am trying to do is get a small portion of altcoins which I believe may have potential. To do this seems to require photo ID. As suggested, I'm fine with being all legit etc but the risk of my data being stolen and misused is a deterrent. People down here in Aus are really trying to rip into people with crypto. One chap is selling 2.5LTC for $70AUD. I have no idea if an elephant fell on his head and he woke up like this but yeah.

I don't want to trade the btc I've mined, I feel that is my personal investment(even though its such a miniscule amount) but I can easily part with $200 to buy a small collection of other coins. I'll check the Alt coins subforum and see what the go is there.

Crypsty looks great but to buy anything off there using dollars requires photo ID.
278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Buying Cryptocurrency from Trade Websites without photo ID on: December 30, 2014, 05:28:20 AM
Hey all,

Now are there any legitimate websites I can use to buy Cryptocurrencies online(not only bitcoin) without needing to verify with photo identification etc? I have nothing to hide but at the same time I do not trust sending a photo of my drivers license, plus a photo of my self with a document infront of me to any source online. They say its to protect against fraud and identify theft but in the wrong hands, someone who has these photos and information can pull off some huge scams. I want to visit a website, drop in some dollars from my account and do some trading.

I really like the look of Crypsty but again do not and will not trust sending such sensitive information online. These if you lose your wallet and someone finds it, all they need is a bill from your mailbox and they can perform huge amounts of fraud under your name. Why should I trust sending it to some online source? How can I trust my information is secure? Sure maybe the website is safe but any protections can be broken and cryptocurrency is a high target for hackers.

I am from Australia and would like to do some small purchases of currencies online.

I'm considering throwing in 4thash to this pool! Tempting!
280  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Led Lenser F1R Near New Sydney on: December 26, 2014, 04:12:51 AM
Hey all,

I've got a Led Lenser F1R torch which is essentially new. Been used for about 5 minutes but prefer my HID. Awesome little torch. Fits in the palm of the hand and if I recall correctly, it pumps 1000lm.

Comes with charger, carry strap, box and papers.

Looking to chase 0.4btc. These retail for 199AUD.

I can do local pickup if you're in Sydney. Will also consider $150 cash on pickup. Willing to post world wide, never used an ESCROW service but I am PayPal verified and Purple Star on eBay with over 800 transactions. If someone is deadset keen, explain to me the ESCROW service(where the item goes to, are there fees involved etc) and we can do that.

Can provide pictures on request.

I would probably willing to trade for some mining gear(only local) with cash adj.
