Anything you can code can be done with bitcoin.

Good, so we don't have Bitcoin decentralized asset exchange simply because noone needs it?

Honestly I have no idea what you're on about.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin and Not a better improved crypto? on: February 27, 2015, 11:36:22 AM
The problem is there are hundreds of other alts, yet none of them offer anything different to bitcoin. Sure some can be staked, some offer POS only but there is no innovation. Its just bitcoin, with a different algo more often than not.

Show me Bitcoin decentralized asset exchange then.

What does that even mean? Which alt offers that? That isn't ground breaking either. Bitcoin is code. Anything you can code can be done with bitcoin.

Some people are lucky to have cheap/capped price electricity while others steal it.

the amount of electricity is capped imho especially the stolen ones

Because it will never go down that's how BTC works more out in the world diff will continue to go up. If it takes a much longer time to generate than last time then it will go down in diff but not for long and BTC mining days are over now given the fact 1 energy 2 equipment 3 prices no wodner the guys gone bankrupt due to many factors it was good mining back in 2011 when/1012 and a little into 2013 but soon into 2014 too mcuh power coming onine raping the heck out of it with corporate company's taking it on and scooping up thousands of coins and then running away.

but the fact that hashrate keep going up (Hashrate:   342,683,408 GH/s), its ATH atm. with the fact that 1. capped energy, 2. capped hashrate/equipment, 3. bitcoin price  at least hashrate should stay lower, not breaking ath all the time

Exactly I agree with this. There is no logical reasoning. If you pay for power, it cannot be profitable anymore to mine bitcoin. How can people invest big money into huge rigs and still profit, especially when the return is so small. Can we expect at the next halving hashrate and difficulty will rise further or will there be a steep drop? Unless power is halved and halved again in terms of price and miners get cheaper, there is no way I could afford to mine for half of what I am now.

People are calling Bitcoin mining a gold rush. The rush eventually ends and people move on to other precious metals(opals, diamond, etc). The same will happen with Bitcoin. If the technology for cryptocurrency expands and becomes the norm, people will adopt other coins and difficulty/value will be much more realistic than what it is now.

are there any special settings for the S5 like the S4 ?

AFAIK the S5 uses essentially the same backend and interface as the S4/S3.

I'll be following this. If it really is that simple, I'll invest 1.49btc into it. Lets see how this plays out.

I started off with something small, very light on power. Then it blew out of proportion!

73  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking $12,000 loan or 51 BTC on: February 26, 2015, 01:37:25 AM
if you have real property, you can get hard money lenders who will take a note on the property.

Get out of here , scammer.

Most lenders don't care what you do with loaned money as long as they get it back. But considering what he is doing may not be legal where he is doing it, he may want to keep this off the records and wants to work privately.

wow $12,000 .What are you going to offer as collateral?

Did you not read the OP?

I've been using FSP PSU's. I have their gold in my main system, a small bronze for one miner and a larger platinum for two other miners. I've also used Antec PSU's which are good. As long as you get a PSU which has good power across all rails.

I had a PSU rated at 54A on the 12v+ rail. When I tried to run ONE S3 miner, it blew up.

Good to see its doubled in value! Hopefully this is some light for other exchanges to start trading this coin.
76  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electric Vehicles and Access to Free 480/200amp & AC 240v/40 amp chargers on: February 24, 2015, 11:17:05 PM
But OP's gotta an interesting idea, use generated electricity to generate power to run miners while you drive.

Well he was talking about exploiting the free electricity provided with the sale of the vehicle to mine with.  At best the idea is morally wrong in the worst case it's illegal.

Lol and here I am thinking he would like to run his miner within his vehicle. Which is absolutely possible. A car can generate up to 170A while running depending on the alternator and if the car has other mechanics to generate electricity(braking etc). Run a wireless adapter in the car, connect your miners in the boot and you've got your self a heater and free mining for the 5hr drive ahead!

I don't appreciate the huge number of miners claiming they have access to free power when its really just stolen electricity. Power can never be free.
Power can be free as in the sense you don't pay for it monetarily but it varies on how much, I mean anyone can produce electric through either solar or kinetic energy but free is the question, are we counting the initial cost of time and panels or just the electricity produced?

The only way I can see power being free is not true free. I've rented racks in the data centre down here before. We are allocated bandwidth, space and there is no limit placed on electricity consumption as it is all included in the monthly fee.

As you suggest, if you install a 10kw solar setup, which mind you won't be enough to run a big mining setup all day every day, its gonna cost you between 8 - 14 grand in Australia depending on components. Anything bigger again is more expensive. That is now 10k you've spent on free electricity and since its not going back into the grid, its gonna take you a VERY long time to ROI relying on bitcoin alone and staying under 40kw power usage a day and this is assuming optimal sun every day.

Plugging a machine in where you work, or sneaking a miner or 10 into the office is not free power either, its illegal and theft of utility resource. Just 2 days ago a house in Sydney was stormed. No one lived there but there was $200,000 worth of marajuana growing in the house. It was stealing power to fuel the hydroponic setup and lighting system. They got charged for mass cultivation and stealing electricity.

Do the PSU's shut off immediately? Assuming the miner is fine, the PSU's could be going into protection mode. I had this happen with an old PSU.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Does This Mean For Bitcoin? on: February 24, 2015, 10:51:24 AM
This just means you don't trade bitcoin in the local subway, or back alley. Trade in the local library, local shopping center police lobby etc. If you aren't doing something illegal there is no need to hide it and you will be comfortable. If the other party wants to do something illegal and you suggest a location like this, well you know to call off the deal and walk away.
79  Other / Off-topic / Re: A huge solar blast occured 2 days ago on: February 24, 2015, 10:48:33 AM
These kind of videos. I like the way the guy says it will send us back to the stone age... How many times, since the beginning of earth have we been sent back? These are the same people who come up with scientific sounding crap about the magnetic field flipping and everything turning to shit. He doesn't know what will happen. Its never happened before and been observed.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is too complex for the average person on: February 24, 2015, 10:42:25 AM
There are a huge number of people I know(work, family, what ever) who are still frightened by things like email and purchasing online. If I introduce Bitcoin to these people, their minds would implode. Even SIMPLY. These are the kind of people who will like the idea of Bitcoin but make some stupid mistake(store large sums online, accidentally send to wrong address, fall for scam) and forever be turned away.
