3041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 19, 2016, 02:07:25 PM
It's the same attack scheme like the last - as there are lots of instructions on the internet in the meanwhile to drain funds from the DAO - expect much more attacks shortly as long as the DAO is not fixed.

Nothing new...

this seems to be getting worse by the minute then;....

Why ? It's the same shit as before, just someone else copied the attack (or maybe its the same guy again)... Even you could drain the DAO if you google for a few minutes Wink

So why do not you do it to protect the DAO community? I am quite confused, why didnot the Eth developers do that?

Hmm thats actually a brilliant idea, why not drain it to protect the rest Smiley

As I think they'll fix it by soft/hardforking it will probably be pointless doing it, but hey.. It's sunday.. spare time...

This seems pretty simple to me.
Decentralized crypto-currencies are all about consensus.
Vitalik suggested a hard fork rollback.
The majority seem to want it...that's consensus!

Now roll it back.

Note - I was not affected by this DAO/ETH situation.

You go into the casino and win legally 50 Million with a new technique.

Not the true story, true story:

A crew of people invest 150 Million into a new casino with all new technique, someone finds a flaw in the code and cheats out 50 Million of the casino...

What to do ? Of course roll back, fix the code, and "restart" the new technique casino...

You didn't understand the image... the new technique was not the blockchain... but the different call of the contract by the attacker...

That still doesn't change anything on the situation

The point is, that we are not allowed to go back in time, just because we can. You always have side effects you don't foresee.
For example if you go back and kill hitler you save millions of people. But maybe the russians may have taken lead of the world and bombed usa with an atomic bomb and killed even more...

Your last comment actually is SO dumb and disgusting it proves pretty well What an ignorant,  dumb and disgusting Person you are.

Whenever there is a chance of saving Any Human life OF COURSE YOU SHALL SAVE IT -  there is no Discussion necessary at all for such a question,  regardless of other unknown things that MAY happen.

We are not talking about Human life here but of a flaw,  an error in a Piece of  code that was exploited by some individuals without of the consensus or without the approval of the majority.

Imagine a Bank that gets robbed and afterwards you are suing the Bank for getting robbed and not the robbers because they did such a decent Job and did Not get caught  (at first)...

Other coins implement voting Features so that Similar happenings can be circumvented by the majority..  The miners or HODLers Wink

Did you ever watch Butterfly Effect? That's more or less explaining, what I want to say. Because it seems you didn't understand it.

We are not in Hollywood here..  You are obviously the one who is NOT understanding MANY things here

I am understanding your point more than mine, thats the case. I thought about everything you say already, you don't tell me anything new. But did you ever think longer about the arguments of the opponents?
I am talking about movies, that explain facts. Its not about hollywood.

Okay then let me give you a very disgusting example back,  also a movie:

A robber Breaks Into your House,  Rapes your wife,  kills her after the rape,  then sells your daughter on a Human Market where she will be Set on Drugs and Sold for Prostitution...

You have the Chance to go back in time but you wouldnt because it is not good?

We're not going back in time, we're fixing a flaw of a new technique/program.

You cannot simply say "hey, this is anarchism, this is the free world, the attacker stole 50 mills because a human programmed something not 100% accurate." There will always be flaws in any kind of program which will always be fixed .. There will always be Versions and Revisions.. 1.0 -> 1.1 -> 1.2 -> 1.3 etc...

This is consensus, this is democracy.

you go back in time... you just don't see it

OK then we go back in time - still doesn't change anything.. You don't understand what this is about.

and you are 100% sure, that you do?

Yes, but after all it doesn't matter as long as i'm with the consensus.  (hint: this is what cryptos are all about)

@ocminer please fix the hash rate display + workers not updating now...

there's someone ddosing the pool using the live dashboard, once I have that fixed/mitigated it'll be working again
thanks ocminer hope it will not that long so we can enjoy using your pool again
we know HODL have many advantage in regards to other coin that can be mine
from your pool. keep it up sir.

The only thing that is disabled is the worker name display on the dashboard, everything else is working fine and you can still see your workers from the "your account" - "workers" tab - so it usually shouldn't be a big deal

3058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIR - innovative new blockchain technology - ICO on: June 16, 2016, 06:43:01 PM
AIR

Innovative new blockchain technology. Blockchain without a chain! No HD-space required! AIR will be transactable by pure thought!
We are still in alpha-stage and can't promise anything at this point but we would like to ask for funding for this new revolutionary technology that has the potential to overtake all of cryptocurrency and likely will atract institutional investors aswell as big banks and big technology companies.

We are still a few months away from releasing anything and all funding should be considered a donation and not an investement.

You can simply deposit BTC to this adress: 142A88u5rLKXwfVNcm7aQcieZ7HKVc7xpm

After doing so please send the txid to our account and thus linking your donation to your btctalk-account. We will put you on the list of donators then.
Maximum deposit per person is 4btc, minimum 0.05 btc

Once the coin launches (which we can't promise) the 100% premine will be distributed between the inital donators according to their size of donation. No new coins will be produced thereafter.

We'll be looking to get listed on all major exchanges and will continue developement years after launch. Roadmap will be announced after presale closes.

ICO will be open until 25th of june 2016. No second presale will be held. Thus this ico will be everyones' only chance to get in AIR on groundfloor.

Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become part of cutting edge crypto-developement.

Also please understand we can't share any further details at this point to make sure we are the ones first to market with this new revolutionary way to transact.
