101  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New demonstration CPU miner available on: December 20, 2011, 10:26:28 AM
Lets see if I do understand:

First, I should download and install a bitcoin client , e.g.

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bitcoin/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.5.1/bitcoin-0.5.1-linux.tar.gz

Then to run it on the testnet.

afterwards to run the miner without pool URL specified

./minerd --threads $cpus --algo sse2_64  --userpass [user]:[pw]

Is that correct ?

Hi,

Sorry for a newbie question: but how do I
run that miner on the testnet ?

P.S. on the prod it works fine for me
with that script:

./minerd --threads $cpus --algo sse2_64 --url http://deepbit.net:8332/ --userpass [user]:[pw]

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I am watching the bitcoin status site and see a massive peer drop
in last days. Is it for real ? Does somebody know what is the reason for that ?

What is the usual number of peers the client is connected to ?
And how to find out the more stable peers in the network ?

Thanks in advance

116  Other / Beginners & Help / Blocks and Transactions on: November 11, 2011, 07:50:37 PM
Hi,

Is it correct to say that the old blocks never change,
all new transaction are included in the new mined blocks.
In that case what is going to happen when the mining will stop ?

Thanks in advance.
117  Other / Beginners & Help / Technical question on: November 11, 2011, 01:27:46 PM

Should My local wallet be aware of all the Transactions being proceed in order to
get the relevant to me Transactions ? If that is correct how it is going to work in very big scale ?

118  Other / Beginners & Help / Tx confirmation on: October 24, 2011, 05:00:52 PM
Hi, I am trying play a bit with the test network ,
I see that -200 BTC transaction took almost a day to get a confirmation.
Is it the same with the real network ? What is that latency depends on ?

Thanks in advance.

for another time, please specify in the first post please, we can't understand you otherwise.

What do you mean ?
120  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Duplicate values on: October 23, 2011, 06:16:43 PM
I mean , to generate the block all I need is  to find a number  that is lower than a target ,
what if you will find the same number in the same time or nearby and will claim the ownership
on the money in the block.
