24  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Do Bitcoin Generator Sites really work? on: April 17, 2018, 01:47:04 AM
I want know if these BTC generators websites are really working? I have tried using one and made few BTCs, and when I was about to receive them, I was told that I should pay a certain amount of BTCs before the BTCs I generated can be sent in my account. So I don't want to send and never receive, and I want to be sure if they are working or not. Has anyone used that?

I really hope that you're kidding. The answer is no, bitcoin is not something which can be made from thin air. To be precise, for obtaining bitcoin, one can mine it, buy it or receive it from someone for something in exchange. The "Bitcoin Generator" which you have mentioned is just a scam site asking you for paying a processing fee in order to "Generate" bitcoins. These kind of sites usually also serve malware and may collect your information as well for more sophisticated hacking attempts.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: April 16, 2018, 10:52:23 PM
it will only go up. She bought at $4200 Sad
How soon can we REALISTICALLY see $4200 again and upwards?

Oh god, just because some people told you to do so, you wen't and suggested your grandma to put all her lifesaving's in bitcoin. That's just heights of stupidness. Be glad that the price has increased right now and not crashed, or else she would have had a heart attack of some sort.
It might be all good right now, but what if you are away and she needs the money badly? You are better off taking the profits you have and giving it back to her now, or else risk it. Its all upon you.
26  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcointalkaccounts.com - scam on: April 16, 2018, 08:10:41 PM
Ok, so for the heck of it - initiated a small transactions with this lowlife. No answer to emails; tried chat on the website - once transaction is mentioned they shut down the chat window. I shall skip the curse words, and therefor I got only one thing to say: low life p.o.s. like that makes crypto-community look bad. Avoid the scam, when possible - report to admins, to make sure scammers have nothing to feed on.
And instead of "buying" an established account - why not just grow your own reputation (and the respect of the community).
Peace to all.

<for whose interested - would be glad to provide the proof for above said>

Why would even buy something from a shady looking site like that in the first place ? Its looks like you fell in the trap by your own misjudgment and ignorance. Like you said, buying and growing an account by yourself is the best way to do it and it seems like you have learned your lesson the hard way. Anyways, the only good thing that came from you getting scammed is the creation of this thread to alert others, so that's great at least. (¬‿¬)
27  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-04-16] Crypto Investor Ian Balina Hacked for Millions During Live Stream on: April 16, 2018, 07:29:12 PM
https://www.ccn.com/ian-balina-hacked-for-millions-through-old-email-account/

Notable cryptocurrency investor and Youtube influencer Ian Balina ended a livestreamed ICO review last night when he realized he was being hacked. Balina seemed to realize something was amiss when he was required to sign back into Google to save changes to the spreadsheet he was using, saying “I have to get going” and ending the stream.

Balina took to social media to ask for the support of his followers in tracing over $2 million worth of cryptocurrency being moved from his Etherscan wallets. He said he didn’t care about the money, and just wanted to catch the person or people responsible.

"Is there any hope for recovering his coins?"
28  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Major indian exchange gets hacked, 438 bitcoins stolen COINSECURE on: April 16, 2018, 04:43:55 PM
You can find the details on their website: https://coinsecure.in
http://archive.is/AZnGe

This hack came just after the ban on cryptos by the central bank.Coincidence?
They are blaming their CSO for this.A single person holding all the coins doesn't seems to be ethical at all.People trusted them with their hard earned money.

UID of the CSO(who was holding the coins) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=72118
UID of the CTO https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=66510
According to his reply on my previous thread, he seems to have no connection with the hack; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3310743.msg34568316#msg34568316
If you aren't going to answer HOW & WHEN then those are just shallow promises. The website isn't accessible at all, with no ETA.

Bitcoin already has a bad name in India, this will only make things worse.
I am expecting 3000+ user's with active balance, who are stuck with their money.Majority of the user's are neophytes. So, probably most of them are unaware of bitcointalk.

The good news is that they are atleast going to refund the money in rupees which I suppose would be a great relief for their customers. They are also giving a bounty of 10% of the hacked funds, if someone is able to recover the hacker money. Hope the police are doing a deep background check on the employees and the owners of this company to identify who stole the money.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 LUNABOT - BINANCE / POLO - the only crypto bot you'll need 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: April 16, 2018, 04:14:13 PM
Since the design looks clean and easy to use, I'm eagerly waiting to test this out. By the way, regarding the bots, do you provide premade strategies or should we as the user create our own configuration? Hope the bittrex support comes soon as its the only exchange I use at the moment.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Months to Buy Crypto on: April 16, 2018, 03:59:37 PM
Based on the history of the crypto market, what months have the most red (best time to buy into the market)?

While I may not be completely right, I think its mostly during the December month, wherein people try to withdraw their profits from cryptocurrency and use it to spend on family and friends during Christmas. This was actually the case during last year's Christmas period, where  a huge depreciation was seen in the price of btc (Up to 40 times low). Therefore I would say December is indeed the best time for buying crypto.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Poloniex Dead on: April 16, 2018, 03:33:24 PM
I used Polo a long time ago, probably about a year and a half at this point (that's a long time in the crypto world) For my recent trades, I've fully left Polo and have went into Binance. Though I haven't heard of anyone talking about Polo - the only time I do hear it though is people complaining about it. Is Polo dead? I know at one point it was controlling most of the market.

Talk about a fall from grace. From riches to rags as an exchange I guess

I would say definitely, since they don't seem to give a damn about the problems being faced by their customer's on a daily basis. Tons of unanswered support tickets, missing deposits/withdrawals, long waiting time for account verification all have led to them being basically out of the league in the bitcoin exchange scene. The only hope I see with them is the acquisition done by Circle at the moment, as its said that they have hired more employees for support and development.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set up limits for yourself? on: April 16, 2018, 03:20:32 PM
Yes, a lot of limitations like for gambling, if you're in gambling you really know what are they, and what this limitations you have to get away of your self. If you're a gambling person you really know how to limit of yourself to put away some of addictions.

thats true , we gamblers always set our own limits and we only allocate a certain amount of funds in order to use it when we play gambling.  I do usually stop whenever i loss my allocated bets or if ever i manage to win a single game and i will then continue playing on every other day because i do always get a badluck if i insist to play straight within that single day. I will end up loosing instead of winning the game.

Certainly, I use a function called stop-bet on gambling sites which uses an auto betting feature. With it, I am able to minimize my risks by stopping a betting session completely when a loss is incurred.

Another step I do to minimize my loss is by using the decrease value function, in which I can reduce the value of the bet by x2, x5 etc so that after a small loss I can still reduce my risk of losing even more.
33  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For what reasons crypto market increase and decrease ? on: April 14, 2018, 08:33:25 PM
i can unerstand when price of one crypto increase or decrease  , but why when it's bear or bull market all cryptos (or 90% of them ) goes up and down and follow a general trend ??

is poeple invest +- equally in different cryptos or just because market follow the top 3 cryto and mainly bitcoin  ??

Market fluctuations happens for any kind of a stock and so does for bitcoin. It can be due to many reasons :
 • Media pressure (Fake news, scare news such as hacks)
 • Government  Regulation
 • Hype
 • Whales playing with market
 • Mining
 • Business dumping to fiat
 • Trading on exchanges
 • Volatility and so on.......
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which cryptocurrency has the best tech and team for year 2018 so far?? on: April 14, 2018, 01:34:36 AM
"In EOS, we believe" Cheesy. I think this year will be the major turning point for EOS. This is one altcoin which is booming right now with a large community and a very interesting technology backing it up. The launch of the EOSIO Dawn technology has seemed to pushed the price even further. Right now the price seems to be a 8.97$, which still seems like a great price to get in before its too late.
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where is the best place to hire a team for a project? on: April 12, 2018, 11:14:21 PM
I would like some opinions on where the best place is to hire people for an upcoming project. If anyone has any advice or experience within this area, please drop a reply!  Smiley Have a great day!

Try posting on a site like http://www.cryptogrind.com. For instance, if you need a specific work done by someone, you could easily gather people with various skills from that site since people such as programmers, ico writers, graphic editors are commonly found lurking for a job. Try going through the services section of this forum as well.
36  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [12-04-2018] Vietnam Responds To $660 Million Cryptocurrency Fraud on: April 12, 2018, 11:05:20 PM
Sigh. I seriously don't know what to think anymore about how stupid people are. It's mind boggling how one could not see any threat in these "high paying" and "risk free" investment options. I don't feel sorry for people.

This is pure stupidity and greed that only results in yet more bad publicity, while it's the people that should be blamed here, and not the general crypto market. One can't even blame the lack of regulations.

I'm afraid that we'll be reading about more +$100 million schemes go down this year. It's a domino effect because a lot of these schemes were set up last year, where it's just a matter of months before the next in line goes down.

This is what happens when people think of cryptocurrency as some kind of revolutionary technology of doubling or creating money out of thin air. Aren't these investors who are savvy enough able to research properly the technology behind these ICO's and mainly the potential risks of investing into it?

Its Honestly just sad seeing most of these scammers get away with millions and billions easily by just making up some bullshit ideas online and exploiting people out of their hard earned money. Hope the law is seriously investigating into these crimes and catch the criminals behind it.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why btc has increased 13.04% today? on: April 12, 2018, 10:53:04 PM
where is this sudden pump coming from?
in excellent news, do you think that btc is ready to jump high again?

None is completely sure at the moment but some say its short liquidation or short selling of BTC trades on major exchanges. Bitcoin also had a record volume of 1.2 billion, which is quite frankly surprising at the moment. I personally think all of this is just due to some whale playing with some funds.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: thinking quiting after lose on gambling. on: April 12, 2018, 10:44:40 PM
do you experience that after losing on gambling that you thinking you will quit gambling for good and never come again to gambling but then next day you are already positive  that you could win in gambling?

that happen to me a lot when i lose in gambling but a could never leave gambling. Cheesy

That's how our mind works when it comes to gambling. Even after incurring a loss, something tells us that we can somehow magically win the next time and this is where greed comes to place. For the sake of recouping the previous losses we might put in an extra bit the next time and lose again. The cycle goes on and on.  Roll Eyes
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Been Scammed? on: April 12, 2018, 10:48:52 AM
I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.

I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

Now, what have been your experience with internet scams?
How do we help people not to get scammed?

Yes, I have indeed. I got scammed due to my own stupidness when I was buying an amazon gift-card from a user on the digital goods section. The huge mistake I made was not using ESCROW, just for the sake of saving time. So, one way of staying on the safe side in this forum is to : Avoid autobuy links at all times.

When buying stuff is to look at vouches and reviews (Not fake vouches from newbie alt accounts) in a thread and obviously use ESCROW which is the most important part. Also, if an individual is reluctant in paying a small escrow fee which some members charge, then you don't deserve to use it anyways.
40  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coin Market Cap SCAM!!! on: April 10, 2018, 10:07:14 PM
Guys if you havent heard already theres supposedly a huge SCAM going on with our favorite Coin Market Cap, check out this video towards the end he dicusses it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ql-_TZH9rc&t=812s

and what do you guys think is going on?

I don't think there is a need to call it a scam since false price of the coins might be a bug in the their script or API. If its true that they haven't fixed the problem after a long time, then people need to look for other alternatives. Also, I personally don't use coinmarketcap since they advertise some scam ICO's at times.
