If you can run bat files you should be able to run exe files.

If you can't do it directly then you could always put the exe file on the machine and then run it from a bat
22  Economy / Services / Re: Simple script required - payment in btc on: February 13, 2012, 01:38:37 PM
Any particular reason you want it to be a batch script rather than a simple exe file?
(If you would be happy with an exe I can make you one in about 2 or 3 mins)

Wow, massive GHash surge....

I was wondering why my reward per-round was down...

Approx. cluster performance (30 min average): 1737.155 Ghash/s

A 14 hour block and the one day luck goes up over 100%? something is wrong

Says 49% for me... Maybe it hadn't finished calculating when you looked.

yeah, it really looks like the pool luck is broken.  At least the 24hr number is.  There's no way that can be right...

Pool luck is based on time of completed blocks only... Doesn't count blocks that aren't finished yet, so expect it to dive as soon as our monster block is complete (if ever, lol)

I do think it should take the current block into account if it takes over 2 or 3 hours, maybe a feature for the future?

Been wondering for a while...

On the statistics page is the pool luck "1 day" measured as a 24 hour time period or does it reset at midnight? (I'm assuming 24 hour)

I still need to pay you for the other stone, so I don't think I'll bid this time, although I may contact you for a similar stone in the future Smiley

If this is anything like the amethyst that I bought recently from tiptopgem, it will be very well cut and look more stunning than the pictures can convey.

I was even suspecting some http-related library was automatically updated by Windows.
Or some updated antivirus software...

One of my systems that isn't working with guiminer doesn't have anti-virus or any windows updating stuff on it.

If I get the time I'll have a play with it tomorrow and see if I can work out what's broken in it... It must be something that happens at initialization because I have one machine here that's still happily running with guiminer using poclbm that's been going for over a week (and is still submitting shares as I type this)

Maybe it'll magically work again tomorrow?
37  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Problem with Guiminer on: February 04, 2012, 10:10:36 PM
I'm wondering if it has to do with the dificulty rise, thats all I can tell has changed

If that was the case, anybody who had an existing miner running (those who haven't re-turned it on recently) wouldn't have the problem.

Agreed.. I have one machine still running GUIminer from yesterday and it's still hashing away well. The one I stopped and started again today doesn't work with the standard poclbm core..

I don't really know python, but after having a look through the source code and following it through to the point at which the error occurs it seems to be a problem with submitting a found result... But it does appear to keep hashing even though it doesn't seem able to send them. Which is why the computers still seem to be busy despite the pools showing 0 shares.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / GUIMiner Help on: February 04, 2012, 10:02:51 PM
There seems to be a lot of people having problems with GUIMiner on lots of different pools.

See this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62590.0

Thought I'd post it up here in case anyone had any ideas and didn't usually look in the mining section of the forums.

There is something wrong with the default GUIminer engine (poclbm) for some reason.

Seems to have started in the last day or so, although I'm not sure what's so special about today that would cause it to change...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62590.0 has other people having problems with guiminer on other pools as well
